1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Angell Studio KiD 1/4 Discussion Part 1

Jun 20, 2007

    1. Ah, just to add in with that, my Gus boy's elastic snapped not once, not twice, but three times so I think it might be a good idea to look into having some back-up elastic on hand. Sure, when he came to me he was strung very nicely and could stand on his own, but it didn't last for very long >.>; with his new elastic though he's very sturdy and I adore his body sculpt and lovely smooth resin <3

    2. Prince arrived in March of 2008, however, both my DOC boys were home long before him and I've never had to restring either of them and I play with them all about the same. And if you're scared of restringing, finding a meet-up where someone can help you is a good idea, that's what I did :)

And actually, it's amusing that you ask about Prince seeing as I just put up his first photos today xD They're not the best photos in the world as my camera is crap and the weather makes it hard to find good lighting ( I know, excuses, excuses xD ) but they're up ( just look in my profile and find my Created Threads, it'll be there ). He has been modified some ( pretty recently which is why he doesn't have his face-up ), his eyes, nose, fangs and claws ^^

I hope to get some actually nice photos of him up soon :)

Edit: Actually, now that I have more time, here be the sad, few pics I have up of Prince so far:

    5. So I'm getting my first angell-studio doll, Leira, im getting her in about 2-3 weeks^^ I ordered tons of clothes but I've heard some comments on angel-studio BJDS so i had some questions...

      1. Does angell-studio string dolls badly, if not, does it break easily?

      2. Will dollmore clothes fit? i was going to buy some things but didnt know if it would fit. what clothes( shoes too) would you recommend.

      3. If you have a A-S doll do they look anything like the promo pictures?

If anyone could answer these Q's, i would appreciate it very much. also does anyone know and good restringing sites or tips?

FEEL FREE TO POST PICTURES: :)

PS. sorry if this is the wrong section... :doh

    6. I have two AS dolls, both 60cm size. If you request the more expensive faceup, they will look exactly like the promo pictures. I couldn't be happier with my boys. They are just completely stunning in person. AS is, hands down, my favorite company as far as faceups go.

As for posability, one was strung very tight and was kicky. The other was a dream. So I guess it varies from doll to doll, depending on who strings it. I've found no flaws with their resin.

They should be able to wear standard 1/4 (MSD) clothes, including the ones from dollmore. Their sizes seem pretty standard. Any 1/4 shoes should fit as well.

As for restringing, there are some great tutorials on the forums. You should take a look around at them. They are very useful.

    7. It's not so much a matter that AS strings their dolls badly I think since my my little boy posed quite wonderfully, it's that I really don't think the elastic they use is very good quality at all. This will be the third time I've had to restring mine as he continues to snap his elastic while my other dolls I've not once had to restring them.

DM clothes will fit them pretty well, but for my 1/4 boy I've dressed him in DM girl clothes and those fit him nicely, I think DM boy clothes would be too big on him as Angell-Studios are pretty slim.

And have to agree that I do think they very much do look like their promo pics. :) I got my boy without a face-up and his nose and eyes have since been modified so pics of him now wouldn't be entirely accurate, but I don't think the pics being true to life is much to worry about.

    8. Thank you both^^

    9. 0.0 I got my doll, Maialyce ( may-al-leece) or May on the 22nd, and I must say they improved on their joints.

So if anyone was refraining from buying A-S because of the joints they are modded now. They also have, I guess you could say, wider torsos, so they don't look so big chested with little middles now^^ Im very happy with the new bodies myself!

    10. Hi there! *_*
I've got a question just to make sure.
After comparing the measurements to a dollzone girl body, I'm wondering if AS's clothes will fit a dollzone girl?
It seems from what I've read here and somewhere else, the AS girls is slimmer ?

Thanks in advance! I really love their clothes. :D

    11. Im not sure if they'll fit I bought a dollmore skirt and it was about a cm too big I had to mod it. So, I don't own a dollzone but if they are like dollmore chances are AS clothes might be a little bit to small ^^ but you could mod them! AS girls are slimmer here are the measurements

Measurements for girls^^ you can look at a doll and press detailed by the pic to get measurements.
      Bust: 7-8 inches
      Waist: 5/ 5 1/2
      lower: 8 incher
feet: 2 inches give or take

    12. anyone here ordered/own the limited 100 Hua Lian and Yue?

They look very awesome and their clothes is amazing but I've never seen any of them here ^^

    13. I don't care much for the partially closed eyes that Yue has. But I do think Hualian is gorgeous. They certainly do have a defferent style/look about them, it's nice :)

Btw, I noticed in your sig, that you want a Dollshe Saint... I've heard so much about them, and how great they are, but I've never been able to find the dollshe website... Do you know the URL? Or is Dollshe one of those Ebay sellers?

    14. HEllo!! thanks for answerrrrring!!!

any reason in particukar you don't like the closed eye Yue?

and I'll pm you about the saint ^^

    15. I just think I would get annoyed with the eyes never being open, it would be, to me, like he's always sleeping or half asleep. But if you like him, you should go for him :)

    16. thank you xD

I was just wanting to know the opinion of people on the two dolls :3

sleeping heads can be cute though xD

but I think it would be better for a sleeping head to also ahve an open eyed head

so you can switch and stuff

    17. I'm totally perplexed by Angell Studio's website. Maybe someone here can answer some questions?

Do they only have French resin? Is there a urethane option? Is that what they mean when they say change from translucent to solid or is that just another French resin?

The "Freely Collacation" pages look like you can choose the doll you want with options. But then you click on, say, Gus Milk pink-girl version(Freely Collacation-Senior Body) and it says Joint: Normal body (not double jointed senior). Then in the options to check and add (on toward the bottom of the page) it has "1/4 Male Body Upgrade to Senior". But it doesn't say anything about female. Would you just check that and hope it means upgrade to Senior for both genders?

Or do you just order head and body as parts?

Sorry if these are silly questions. Sometimes I make things harder than they are.

    18. It seems that all their dolls are made of french resin.
I think "1/4 Male Body Upgrade to Senior" should be a mistake.XDD
You'd better contact with their customer service lily:[email protected] ^^
