another art thief with DOA registration uncovered

I find this even worse, and more confusing than the last time one of my images was stolen, as this time there's the language barrier. Also, since this post is from last spring, I've not been able to find it on her site, as I have to admit to being a total techno-boob, and can't figure out how to go back further than the page that comes up with the link at the beginning of this thread. It's very frustrating, since I can't make a complaint if I don't know exactly what she's saying - or if I can't even find my image on her site in the first place. This isn't the first time that exact same image has been stolen, and it makes me really question posting my photos.

 

Just saw that she has stolen one of my pictures too. What really gets to me is that she not only reposts but actually uses the pictures of others to make her "own" and then has the nerve to put on her watermark too!
It's sad that VK.com doesn't care about this and that there are people out there who things this is the right thing to do

 

You would think people would be wary of her services now that she's been outed as an art thief. DOA has most of the doll community on it. Maybe it's the language barrier? Since this site is Russian? Or she hasn't been exposed so wholly on the site like she has here?

 

I'm sorry to hear about this. It's very unfortunate that some people think they can just steal someone's artwork (or anything for that matter) and not think anything of it. How can they sleep at night?! D: Try to stay positive everyone, even though I know it can be hard at times.

Given that the above is mostly slander , and in personal photos posted flirke it damage my honor and dignity , for our part we will write a complaint in flirk . You used pictures from friends of mine, who didn't gave you the right to do so, and you also stole one of my pictures (I still have the screenshot, the picture was deleted by now).
You reposted them without any credit AND you sometimes used them for your silly little collages.
These photos are not yours to use.
I don't care how much time you put into your store or your collages, you are NOT allowed to use these pictures.
I also don't care about the sake of art or how much time you put into this, since you clearly don't respect how much time WE put into our dolls and photos.
Our photos are not free material to use, even if other groups or individuals tend to steal them.

We also all don't care about whether your shop is real or how long it exists. Keep in mind that the majority of us does not have access to VK.com and also can't read what you people write.
We just don't want to find our pictures butchered by others or stolen to use as a clickbait and to make your VK page more nice and flashy.
Take your OWN pictures.
You have enough dolls in your store for that.


Also:

First: People are stupid. I say that very flat.
As long as you don't provide a big flashy "HERE IS THE ORIGINAL PICTURE" link with glitter they will most likely just see the nice picture and not think further.
They just see a nice picture and don't really get that the material is stolen.

Second: These pictures are NOT from free sources.
All the stuff we do is ours till we say otherwise.
Flickr, Deviantart, this forum are NOT free sources for BJD pictures.
I don't go into your garden and steal your fruits because they are "free standing in the garden" either.

 

That's pathetic. I'd be too paranoid to take someone else's art work.

 

Many of the authors have had their images stolen countless times and some have even quit sharing their photographs online. There are people in this very thread who are asking you to stop. Why are you still insisting this is slander? We're seeing screenshots of pictures that have their watermarks cropped out (!).

Again, the watermarks are cropped out, what do you have to say against that? Just because something is posted on the internet does NOT mean you can just use it as you please, alter it, and use it to promote your shop! How can you say these are clearly linking back to the source when you have made an effort to completely remove them?

Art thievery is disgusting and I hope that any users of that site who shared stolen images will get banned from DoA. I personally don't want to post any of my pictures here on DoA OR Flickr if people like you or other people in your community will use them without my permission. It's disgusting and you're not only ruining your own reputation with this, but also the joy a lot of people take in sharing ABJD photo's!

I don't know what is so hard to understand about what we want from you.

1.) Please stop posting stolen pictures from Flickr and deviantART that have 'all rights reserved';
2.) Please do NOT crop out watermarks;
3.) Please take down all stolen images you've posted so far.

These are the only things being asked of you, Eniva (and maybe an apology would be nice as well). It will not do your and your shops reputation any good if you continue to post stolen pictures and block members from seeing your site.

 

I for one, am against people using my images without asking permission. I don't slap watermarks on my photos, as I feel it takes away from the image, and doesn't prevent unscrupulous thieves anyway. I do have copyrights on every page of my website, stating all images are my property and protected by copyright. But even without the copyright statement, all artwork and photographs are automatically the copyrighted property of the person who created them. Taking someone's photos without permission, and using them for any kind of personal gain, is illegal.

I personally don't have a problem with someone posting one of my images in their blog when it's clearly indicated where it comes from, and with a link to the original. However, by not giving credit, you are by ommission suggesting it is one of your own.

Actually, all of media in internet; photos, texts, etc are automatically covered by universal copyright law, even though the author or photographer or owner don't put watermark on it.

You can check here if you would like to know some basic laws and there has no exception, whether you live in Russia or US.
1. You need permission from original owners (and mostly for advertising or marketing purpose, you need the letter of permission with signatures from both parts; you and owner.) before posting any contents or photos on your website/etc.
2. Giving credit to original owner.
3. Not allow to edit original photos if the owner doesn't permit. This one is exclusive from No. 1. Normally, permission to re-posting is different from editing permission. You have to ask owner both the permissions for re-posting and editing. This may become serious, if the owner decided to sue. Same to edit a XY Hollywood movie, copying internet contents without permission or giving credit to your bachelor-thesis, etc...

Internet resources are easy and useful but doesn't mean that people can copy or use them as they please. And don't think that artist/creator/photographer in internet don't know much law or will forgive this action. Please be careful to do anything violate copyright law. Some cases can become very serious and you have to pay lots of money for the charge or worse.
