ANother Secret ~ New dolls: Snow White and Shadow King

Max-Laure: I like the nude face-up you gave her; it's very realistic =)

Lirin: No I don't have pictures of him yet. I want to give him a quick test face-up before doing so. His head is not so small so I think he'll look better on a SD17 or longer body... Proportions seem to be good on the DSAM body. I really wanted a Dollstown 18yo body for him but there's no way he can match any of their skin tones.

 

I got my Snow White a few days ago too, I was doing the face up ^^

he is normal skin (I think all AS dolls are normal skin). The body is a very pale normal skin from DIM first dolls and the match is not bad. Also I edited the picture a bit to give him that antique look.

 

What a beautiful face-up! I couldn't have guessed that sculpt would look that good as a boy. Congratulations ^^

My heads arrived today, they both look great but the colour is not what I was expecting, darker than I hoped. I think they would match well with DT oriental skin and maybe DZ/DC yellow normal? The Shadow king head is pretty small actually, smaller than my williams head and miniscule compared to my leeke alex head, but bigger than many more mature heads i guess. I'll be needing a slim body for him, unfortunately it looks like it and the Leeke head won't be able to share like i'd hoped. I'm thinking either DSAM or DC adult boy, if only the necks weren't so skinny on those. Still hoping it'll fit in w/my set but i'm a little unsure.

the Snow white however is fabulous, and looks parfait with the volks girls like Anais and Masha and also with the ANS Orchid. Unequivocal yes on her, although it will be interesting doing the faceup in a palette to compliment her skintone.

 

Argh, well now I'm crushed. Like I expected, he hit customs by the weekend and then showed up in Los Angeles...and then today he was sent back! I called USPS, US Customs sent him back to the shipper, I won't have any explanation until he gets back there as the explanation for refusal's included on the return label by customs, they don't tell USPS. Obviously, I have sent mail...

So now he's been rejected by customs twice, once in China and once in the US? What on earth is going on? I checked the restricted items list, resin and magnets are not on the list...my sister thinks there's something wrong with how they're filling out the form, but the long and the short of it is, it will likely be at least another 3 weeks to get back to me (has to go through Chinese customs again) and now I'm wondering if they won't try to charge me for shipping again, as they are an awfully small company. Disheartening! Has anyone else from the US had this experience?

Well... I got my Snow White head today. I opened the box, super excited to see the face-up I paid the extra for and... her face was blank! No make-up. I'm hoping to hear back from the company soon.

Mine made it through customers, even if it was wrong, but the box looked like it had been stomped on and crushed.

 

I am happy that something made it through to the US, so I know it's not a huge problem...but then that means something was wrong with my box for some reason, and that doesn't bode well. I've thought about a lot of things, but this is the third time I've ordered from them so they have got my address down...I'm just so stressed as I have other things I'm expecting internationally, I don't want to be having these issues at this time of the year, so I'm just hanging on to the hope that this is an isolated thing.

Sorry to hear about your lack of faceup! the best thing they could do is refund the makeup. Not worth sending the head back!

 

Heidipay, that's horrible! I hope that the POs talk to one another and you get your package soon! I can't figure out why the customs people would turn it back. There's no reason for it at all! Hoping you don't have to pay shipping again, I'm sure they won't ask, I bet they would feel it was rude...
Customs kept mine for 4-5 days, and it looks like it was opened, and one of the CoAs has a slice through it :s but I did get my heads at least!

Yessaid, I'm sure you can get a refund for the faceup... And there's lots of tallented artists arond who can do one for you, probably very similar to the default, or even better. ^__^

I haven't started painting mine yet, but I opened the SHadow King's eye a tiny ammount and beveled both of their eye wells so the eyes will actually fit in. I love artist company heads but they always take a bit of fussing XD.

 

I've heard back from the company now.

So they don't know either. So much stress...I'll just wait on events, but it's going to be nerve-wracking whatever my next shipment is, I expect.

My Snow White arrived yesterday, with the box crushed a bit. The head, though, was ok. I was surprised that the white skin head I ordered is not white at all. Maybe I got the wrong one.

Edit: I read the original selling thread and see that all the dolls are normal skin, so that's ok. I'm glad I didn't order a white body before she arrived.

 

Grats on all the new arrivals! Gothland, your girl/boy is beautiful! My box arrived in a crushed heap too. The certificate was also crushed, but the head is alright.

 

My goodness what's with all these crushed boxes? Mine arrived in decent condition. I hope you get yours soon Heidipay T_T

I couldn't wait any longer and gave my Shadow King a face-up :B



He is one of those "angle" guys. You need to take pics in the proper angle otherwise he'll look weird. As I said before, the match with the Granado body is perfect, tone-wise. However I feel he needs a bigger body in the 70cm range.

I honestly wonder if they received damage somewhere, and mine was so bad they weren't able to read the 'to' address anymore...I don't know. I will wait until he's returned and find out what options there are for reshipping--I will have him sent to Japan or Europe if it's easier and pay a friend to have him reshipped to me from there, just to have him in someone's hands. He is beautiful Carmen, I LOL at the 'angle' comment.

Carmen, your guy is lovely! I love the faceup you gave him.
I am two layers into the faceup for mine, and one layer in on the Snow White... Shadow is a weird head to paint, that's for sure, but "peculiar" is basically the look i was hoping for, so... I think i will have sucess XD.

Heidipay, If they will agree to it, sending the head to a friend to send to you sounds like a great idea, the tracking on a package from Japan to the US works the best of anything, and I think things coming in from places that aren't China come in through Customs more quickly, stateside.
