Any doll plans during the Christmas season?

I'm waiting for the LUTS Winter event to start. My gang of 3 is going to receive a pile of wigs, clothes and shoes for Christmas - enough for me to receive the (S)SDF Winter event head for faceup practice. I like the previews of the Winter event heads so far!

I've been on doll hiatus for years and recently came back, so yeah, I'm looking forward to a BJD Christmas. ^^;;; I hope my gang will like their gifts, because they have to give me a Christmas gift too... of lots and lots of photoshoots of them in new outfits.

 

Not this year.

I got a Kaye Wiggs Izzy last year because my husband took over paying the layaway as my christmas present (so the doll went to him and was put away until Christmas day). This year I've asked for a craft lamp with built in magnet (the older my eyes get, the harder it is to work on dark fabrics).

But I will probably aim for my usual plan of working on sewing projects over the Christmas break from work - which usually ends up as dolly sewing (I have mountains of unfinished projects to choose from). And, as usual, I won't get nearly as much done as I intend to.

Waiting to see if Soom will have a Free Choice event for Idealian75 this year, and which sculpts it might be. If not, well then I'll be saving some money.

 

For my dolls themselves, I've set up a miniature Christmas tree. I plan to order a couple outfits for every doll, wrap them up, and place them under the tree I might get my SDs a new brother as well, but I'm not sure.

 

Same! I'm also waiting for LUTS' Winter Event ♡ I definitely want order a SSDF and possibly some clothing items. Both event heads look adorable and I hope to qualify for the SDF one ^-^

....and same xD I'm excited and anxious at the same time ^^; I've already purchased an ID75 this year, so I'm not sure if my budget allows for another one, even when it's one of my faves :')

 

I want a new camera

 

A while ago I messaged Miracledoll about a sculpt being rereleased and they said maybe in December so I’ll have an eye out for that.

I also have an artist head that was supposed to arrive in October but got delayed to December so hopefully I’ll be able to start on his faceup and check if the body I bought for him looks OK

 

This year my husband encouraged me to put that expensive re-released Dollzone Sawarieda in purple skin on layaway as my Dec.birthday/Christmas gift. She’s on a long layaway and won’t be here for a long while of course, but just knowing she’s truly mine and will be coming eventually is the best holiday gift I could ever imagine!

 

Unless there's an amazing limited sculpt in one of my preferred sizes coming out, I'm unlikely to buy a new doll. I am thinking of getting props from OT doll brands, as such props are easier for me to find and are in scale for most of my dolls. That and these places should be well stocked come December in anticipation of massive sales.

 

I'm think about doing a shoe haul this season, as well as commissioning the face up for a doll I just got.

 

I have one girl out getting a glowup, and a boy I ordered in March is coming as we speak. I don't think I'll need to buy anybody for the holidays. Though the boy coming in will need some pretty eyes, so I'll probably end up getting those 8D

 

No, I won't be ordering new dolls or planning much of anything like that this year. I typically do not indulge in the holiday sales tbh. I'm hoping that this year at Christmas season I have a place to live and food to eat, and hopefully some dumpy job someplace. That being said, I love the holidays, all of them through Fall and winter, and I find the spirit comes more from the heart than anything. I will hope to make a dress or two from some themed prints and take opportunity to snap some pics in the snow or with holiday lights.
We will probably want to keep our gift limits very low here this year but I already said I would be overjoyed to get a $12-15 wig from amazon so that's a gift to myself and then to the dolls that I'm hoping for if possible.

I gave one of my characters a birthday in December so I can do stuff for him then. If there's no sale at the company I need to buy his body from, I'll be purchasing it on his b-day, which happens to be around Christmas. So I'm looking at it as a present for him and a present for me. If there is a sale, I'll still be getting something doll-related for Christmas depending on finances. I need extra hands and feet for some dolls.

 

Definitely having a big dolly Christmas this year with gifts for me and my boys! Got a couple of new dolls coming home soon hopefully and bought some lovely new clothing sets and props for them! I just hope they come in in time enough for me to get some nice photoshoots

Every Christmas I do a couple of things with my dolls. For starters, they all get to wear Santa's hats and comfy sweaters so they look like they are celebrating too. They also get some gifts because a month or so before Christmas is the time when I do my purchases and that's what most packages take to arrive to my country. I also try to take pictures, specially of my littlest one, playing with new toys her size or something like that.

 

Christmas time is always doll time for me, and this year, my husband is getting me a Dreaming Doll Mercur Judy, and my sister is getting me a bunch of clothes and accessories for her so she's ready to play as soon as I get her!

And speaking of Christmas, we put our tree up today:

Brendan: "You're a mean one, Ms. Grinch."

 

I've put two doll bodies on long layaways this month, so that will have to be my Christmas. Although-my Ringdoll Lu Xun is almost paid off and it would be an awesome Christmas were he to get here in time!

 

I want to get myself a new doll by Christmas and by the time it’s done I think it would be ready around my birthday. I also want to try and finish completing my newest doll (finish faceup, wig, eyes, and clothes) so I can get a Christmas photoshoot. I’m always super busy around the holiday time so I guess we’ll see lmao
