1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Anyone else end up with an insane excess of supplies? (eyes, wigs, eyelashes, etc.)

Oct 28, 2013

    1. Actually...I am in my buying phase still...so the only thing I have excess of is dolls :sweat

I have this insane mindset of: "Well, as long as I have the doll in my possession, I at least have that hard part out of the way!" so then I have this insane amount of dolls with no eyes, wigs, or faces...it is horrifying when I go back through my collection, realize in a year I've bought up to 5 dolls, but most of them are unfinished. My doll list is now finite for that reason, I have exactly 3-4 more dolls before I stop buying dolls for the next couple years, and focus on what I have, I think I will be happy when I am able to do that!

    2. Well, I stuck to the, " I will only have one doll" idea for a real long time, so that first beloved doll has oh, maybe 30 or 40 outfits because sewing is just kind of what I do.. I finally caved, and started buying more dolls, I am up to 7 dolls and one floating head now. Each doll probably owns about six wigs and pairs of eyes, maybe 4 pairs of shoes... but I never stop sewing them outfits, and every outfit must have matching jewelry, and my roomie is a professional silversmith, so I have lots of doll jewelry. Each doll must own a tea set. I own a bizarre amount of doll furniture. The more serious hoard is the fabric and art supplies... but those I have been collecting my entire life. My current obsession is collecting infants clothing... cutting it down to fit the dolls is so fun and easy! The fabric prints are nice and small and in scale, and I adore the weird graphic T's you can find for little kids.

    3. Well, it's been over 10 years of buying stuff and I can probably open my own doll shop! *_*

    4. Same here... I keep telling myself I need to sort out the things I no longer want and sell or give them away but just never get round to actually doing so... :sweat

    5. I HAVE A MILLION WIGS AND I JUST GOT LIKE A MILLION MORE ON TAOBAO SOMEBODY HELP ME

    6. WIGS. I bought four wigs during a "buy one wig get one free" event, plus I like my girls to have at least two hairstyles. And when I'm buying a wig for one doll I'll often see one that would be perfect for a another doll...
My worst offender has SIX wigs, and the others all have 2-3. And that's not counting the wigs that don't belong to anyone but might be perfect for a future doll, so I keep them. I have a problem.

    7. For no reason at all I have ten pairs of eyes. Does that count?

    8. *Throws blanket over giant plastic organizer with drawers bursting with doll goodies* Uhmmmmm no never happened lol *guilty grin*

    9. At a doll show I purchased a gallon kitchen bag stuffed with plastic doll eyes of all size So! There were probably about 50 pairs in there. It was only $10, so as a result I have eyes everywhere! They weren't super quality ones, but ok. Need to move them out. I have too much of everything basically.

    10. OMG, overbuying is the bane of my doll collecting existence. I have boxes of clothing, wigs and eyes that have been tried on once and then discarded as not achieving the look that I was going for. I can't even imagine how much money I've wasted on this idiocy. It's embarrassing!

    11. oh my gosh, YESSSSSSSS. I have a few dozen floating eyeballs, wigs galore, clothes that I don't even remember I have. And let's not even discuss the floating heads. Agree, it's embarrassing.

    12. The extra in this hobby really do start to add up over time. I have a box of stuff including wigs, shoes, eyes, ect lol

    13. I have a ton of clothes and shoes. Just estimating, I probably have over 50 pairs of shoes, and at least 200 shirts. But I don't really consider it excess, as I own 16 dolls, and I like them all to have a variety of clothing options with shoes to match. My biggest actual "excess" is probably eyes or wigs. I have a box of each, and once my dolls are settled on a look, I don't usually change them much.

    14. I have way too many doll clothes because I sew, for a living and a hobby. Every time there are scraps left over from a project the scraps are matched with a doll pattern and cut out. I keep all of these in ziploc bags in a bin and then either hand sew or take them to the machine in my down time, Who can just sit and watch a movie with nothing to occupy their hands? Lucky for me I have 12 grand kids who get extensive wardrobes for all their dollies too.
Also the wigs are growing on their own. I enjoy making and buying them and it is such fun to change hair color in real life and in doll life. My guys tend to keep the same wig though, it seems harder to find a style for them and once they get one that suits them it tends to stay, kinda like my husbands hair except for the balding. Maybe if I have my dolls long enough I can have them go bald too.

    15. I'm sure at some point I'll end up with way more eyes than I need. I always feel like just buying eyes, partly cause they're so pretty, partly because I love seeing what dolls look like with different eyes, partly because I just love eyes. :P I might end up with too much eyelashes too, unless I end up using them all up (which I don't see happening.)

    16. I have so many eyes...

And none of them are the right color.

    17. I just barely started this hobby. I have one doll, but she has 3 pairs of eyes and 7 wigs. And I didn't even think about collecting eyelashes. I see more shopping in my future. :)

    18. I've been in the hobby five months and I have two on-topic dolls (plus a third on the way). In those five months I've managed to gather five large boxes of stuff. Alistair has fourteen wigs and nine pairs of eyes, and both he and Johnny have clothes coming out their ears. My three off-topic girls have a lot of things too, as does Chloe, the doll who is on the way. I did this because I like being able to play around with my dolls and see what looks good on them.

    19. Guilty! I've been in the hobby since at least 2009 so have amassed a very large quantity of eyes (did clear out all the acrylic and switched to just glass), at least 2 dozen wigs each is SD and MSD size and a dozen in Yo-SD and SHOES! I also have an extremely large quantity of MSD sized clothes but can't bring myself to sell any of them off, even though I've stopped collecting that size! Every once in a while I do clear out "batches" of wigs and eyes on ebay.

    20. I have always had a great love for buying eyes and wigs, not to mention clothes so I have a wide array of different styles. I, for some reason I don't remember, have around ten cans of Mr. Super Clear, gloss, pastels and so on and so on, but I don't consider it to be excess items. It means that when I get a new doll home I will be able to fully equip it, or if my dolls suddenly are going to change their style, then I will be able to do so without having to wait for it to come home from the shops. I definitely prefer to have many things rather than few.
