1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

are smart doll's by danny woo considered bjd's

Dec 15, 2015

    1. hello all im new here i have 8 bjd's and i recently got a smart doll and someone told me she is not a bjd are they right i mean i like here no matter what but id like to know

    2. Ball jointed dolls typically have ball and socket type joints, and are string with elastic, steel springs, or some other material that holds tension. Smart Dolls use a primarily hinge joint system and have a hard plastic internal armature, so no they are not really ball jointed dolls. Dollfie Dreams use the same hinge joints/ armature, but the first released DD were strung ball & socket dolls, so they've been 'grandfathered in' as sort of honorary BJDs. I do not believe Smart Dolls are on topic here. They are very cute and look well made; congrats on your new doll :)

    3. thank you very very much. she is very very well made indeed she's very lovely

    4. I love Danny Choo's Smart dolls. I'm currently saving up for an Ebony. They are consider Bjds due to the ball and socket "joints" they are built with as said above but she has pegs and not string. Only real difference besides being made out of vinyl

    5. While they are very cute and well made dolls, Danny Choo's SmartDoll line is not on topic for Den of Angels. As such, this thread is being closed.
