1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are you at the point where this it for collecting? Have you hit your doll limit?

    1. I have six dolls and that already feels like one doll too many. I think if I ever bought another doll, I'd probably end up selling one of the dolls I have. So yeah, I think I'm at my max right now.

    2. Well, I wrote back in August that I really thought I was done…with over 50 dolls, I swear I thought I was! But then (after an entire decade) Dollzone surprisingly re-released their uber-limited flower boy, and my girl (see avatar) was screaming for her boyfriend.:doh And then I was innocently perusing the marketplace here, just looking at the offerings from a purely intellectual perspective of course, when a Fairyland Realfee reached right through the screen and grabbed me I swear!:o It was one of those rare cases of love at first sight. I instantly knew everything about her, from her name to her full character and where she would be displayed…and I was absolutely helpless to resist her. So much for all my careful planning.

This taught me something new about my collection after all these years. It’s like it’s a living, breathing thing, with ebbs and flows, and a will of it’s own. I’ll probably never be able to say I’m truly done with any amount of confidence…and perhaps that’s as it should be. As long as I’m able to keep all my lovelies on display, completed, with special wardrobes and stories all their own, then I’ll just kick back and enjoy those ebbs and flows with a thankful grace.;)

    3. .... but of course, those marketplace trips are always only purely intellectual, it's not like deep down I'm hoping to find something irresistable and only then will I need to come up with justification...

      ;)

    4. One he arrives I hope you post them both in the gallery. I would love to see them together "in the wild".

    5. Kind of yes, kind of no. I have 1 doll I desperately need to get. After that, I probably won't get any more for quite a while.

But I'll never be 100% done

    6. I've mostly hit my limit, I think. I like my collection. Unless a few old limited releases are rereleased, or a really, REALLY special doll comes out new, I don't see myself buying anymore, and am content to make clothes for the dolls I have. Space is limited, and while I've seen a lot of really cute dolls, there's nothing that's nice enough to make me want to devote more space to it.

    7. At the moment there are 53 dolls of different formats in my collection. I had already exhausted my limit a long time ago; I planned to have no more than 20 dolls. I'm trying to reduce my collection, but I'm selling two and buying 4)

    8. I lost the ability to answer that question.:mwahaha I entered the hobby in 2009 with the goal of 1 inexpensive doll “to see if I liked it.” Now I have 31 (15 complete dolls and the rest are heads). At the moment, I’m loving the older Volks sculpts and I can’t seem to resist a deal on an older head or body (aka a project doll).

    9. I usually only have one BJD at a time lately (in the past two years or so). My main focus is antique dolls, so I have to manage my doll budget accordingly. Maybe I'll have two again someday, but not in the forseeable future.

    10. Personally yes and no! I collect a lot of other things and have limited space so I'm trying to prioritize what I already own, but if I see a grail at the right time...all bets are off

    11. Grails absolutely affect buying. I was on a buying freeze with a grail list as my only permissible exception and ended up buying three dolls because they became available and were all grails.

    12. I want my max to be 15 full dolls. Floating heads ehhh might just sneak in here and there :sweat If I were to get all my wishlist dolls, that would be 15 exactly. As of now I have 8 with 3 on their way. Though that miiight becone 4 on the way.

Also I'm picky about the ratio of dolls. I want it roughly half and half, minis to tinies. Or more tinies than minis. That's mostly a space thing though

    13. I'm at 5 and already rotating, no space
