Are your dolls close to your age?

I had honestly never thought of this before. Because I don't think Tripp ages like a human, and X is over a hundred, like the character she is based on they are not really near my age (24). However I do think Tripp would be around 22 mentally, mature but a bit of a wild child still.

 

Mine will eventually be based on characters, so it's quite a big range. One is my age, but others are a year older to 70 years older.

 

Ahhh. I haven't even thought about ages yet. lol. I think my current doll would be around twenty-ish tho. The others will probably be around the same. I feel like I have so much to learn but at the same time it makes the hobby more exciting! (Oh and to completely answer the question: they are younger than me!)

 

Are your dolls close to your age?
No. There's a range from about 4 to "infinitely ageless." The majority of one main group is late-teens to early-20s; the other appears to be 20s or so but, as fantasy characters who age differently, is truly more than double that. The fairies have no age at all. And as dolls, their ages never change, unlike mine.

Are they all close in age to each other, or do you have more variety?
Within a given group, there's some similarity of ages, though there can be some that skew a bit younger (the children of two characters, in one) or older (a planned "mentor figure" yet to be ordered). The appearance of most sculpts, however, makes it hard to truly skew older, especially while staying with the existing stylized aesthetics of my collection.

 

Oh they're much younger than me. My oldest one I got in 2011. Yeah, I don't really give them fictitious ages. I did for Amiga for rounding out her background, but don't really care about it. As far as I'm concerned, my dolls age range from 4 years to 1 month.

 

No? I don't really know how to answer this question. I've collected BJDs steadily for ten years now, and have probably surpassed the ballpark age I assume a lot of my dolls would be. They all look more or less under 30 to me and I'm turning 30 this year!

That's not counting my child or fantasy dolls, who would obviously be either significantly younger or older.

 

Most of them are, yes. Some age with me, some don't.

I've got one for each age, well except for the tiny dolls, I don't much care for those. I've got 1/4 and up.

 

Nope, none of my dolls' characters is anywhere near me in age.

My four elves are immortal and quite old. I have two reincarnated characters who are around 3000 years old. The rest are normal humans between 8 and 32 years old.

On the bright side, I'm closer in age to the 32 year old than I am to the 3000 year olds.

Hm. If I had to put ages on them, Taryn (Iplehouse EID Lahela) is the closest to my current age now because she's somewhere in her early 30s. She'd be the main caretaker/aunt of my minis and tinies. The other three more "adult" dolls I have, my DDS Melty, and my Elsa (minifee Shushu) are more late teen-mid twenties. My minis are tween to mid teens, and all my Yos and Littlefee are just kids. I'm not sure how old my pukifee Pong would be...however old she wants to be? XD She has cutesy clothes but I don't think of her as adult or kid. She just IS happy. Ageless?

 

No..not really. I'm 19. I only have two human dolls/characters among the five I have; they're 10 and 26. Then my other three are immortal. However, If you count the age they stopped aging, then two of them are close at 17 and 23. Most of my characters are around my age (the humans ones/the immortals that stopped aging) I just don't have dolls for them yet.

 

Most of them are much younger, since I have mostly kids. Two 10 year olds, one 12 year old, and one undefined but looks 10ish. The two adults are close to my age, in their mid late 20's.

 

Surprisingly I've never thought about this and I just realized that most of my dolls are very close to my age. I'm 18 and most of my dolls are either a year younger or two years older.. I do have 2 very young kids though (yosd).

 

No doll I own is anywhere near 51.

 

My bjds are by far younger than me but vary in age from there.

 

I am in my teens and my dolls are teenagers too (some are just a little younger) so we dont have a big age gap between us.

 

I hope so! but cause I stared collect dolls late, so I can't really make it. Anyway, I stll hope my dolls can be with me forever.

 

We used to be the same age... but after 7 years having her around, she is now 7 years younger than me >,< She's Forever-21.

 

Let me think abut mine...

Four are ageless character, but they appears respectively as a little anthro cat, a boy in his early twenties (the demon), a twenty-five, twenty six woman (the anthro cat lady) and a teenager boy (the ghost), so almost one, the cat lady, is really close to my age.
The two remaining dolls are both elf girls, one a teenager and one again very close to my age (even if in elven terms.)
Both the cat lady and the older elf girl were originally character strongly linked to me (I dare to say "personas") so I think that explains why their age was so close to mine. I write and RP since i was 12 and my characters showed a curios tendency to grow older with me.
