1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Artists Using Doll Likenesses without Crediting [Mijn Schatje discussion]

May 31, 2009

    1. She hasn't posted as herself, but we've had a couple of trolls that seemed quite strangely like they could have been her. Plus she's commented on things that were said in this thread to Denny.

HI MIJN! KEEP ON READING! I STILL THINK YOU'RE A CHEATER! THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

    2. yes, but that may be only to use an image of their product for their advertisements. So if she used it in a personal artwork to sell, it would be against copyright/tradmark etc. Of course she could have worked out a deal when she took the job.

    3. Sorry LKJ, I was referring to one of Denny's posts #745 in this thread....I was wondering if Mijn Schatje had access to DoA and our Gallery pics...it makes me nervous...as I don't trust MS at all......

      xen :)

    4. Urrm.....

I think he was referring that "Mijin" Has an account here on DoA and is reading the comments posted on this thread.

I'm not worried thought, if she happens to post, then her cover is blown, I'm sure she'll get alot of negitive comments if she posts here. :sweat
(Thought there is alot of negitive comments about her anyways.)

    5. If she did work for them she's signed a legal document stating that she owns the rights to it and that she's signing those rights (for advertising, reproducing etc) over to them. If she used illegal images... she can be sued by them.

Now I'm not sure of that contract but I'm sure that something like that is in there and they won't care if she says "didn't understand" they'd still sue her ass.

    6. It's really sad that people are taking photos down... Such a shame. My doll photos aren't the best in the world (I'm better at outdoor photography) but I've decided to leave them where they are - if she dared to mess with my work, she'd regret it - I have the money to sue her into oblivion.

I'm worried that now that the doll thing has been exposed, she might just find some other subject to rip off. I wouldn't put it passed her. Ugh it's all so disheartening.

    7. Oh great... now I'm worried. I just did a photo shoot of my Bobobies today. I was planning to upload as soon as I found my camera's USB cord (hey, USB cord... please show up, I need you!). Now I'm worried. Maybe I should add a note about unauthorized use when I post them. Only I get to post my pics or derivatives made from them, kthxbai!

Making me paranoid... That's not right! :|

    8. Elysion gear....yes, I saw those....I wonder which one of the 'Arteests' is her?..........So pompous.....this just makes me sooooo mad!!......:x

OOOPs sorry............I guess I'm way too passionate about these dolls...pardon.....

      xen :)

    9. Hey now, personal insults don't help the "YOU'RE ALL JUST BIG FAT MEANIES!" argument that her fans will inevitably pull. ): Sure she's a thief and wholly dishonest about almost everything, but remarks about appearance are uncalled for. :/

    10. I would find it astonishing if Reebok's contract permitted the use of a Reebok item in her personal work for her own profit. In fact, most commercial contracts require the opposite; anything she did FOR Reebok would NOT be allowed in her work for personal sale. Nothing my husband has ever done for a major client is allowed to be reused in any way, except strictly in his portfolio as an example of corporate work.

No, I think in this case she might just have done the dirty to the dog and is about to get bit for her trouble.

    11. Yep, exactly. I have to do that in the kiddie pool -- I don't think the big leagues would have any less stringent guidelines.

She's talked about these ad campaigns enough that anyone checking references for future work -will- hear about this if those companies take issue with her behavior. I suspect future contracts will be few and far between as a result.

    12. I suppose one could always "Thumbs up" the ones who protesting her, and "Thumbs down" her supporting comments. :aangel: :whee:

I say, go ahead, it will make you feel better without having to rant and rave and fling insults. (Thought you can rant and rave about it in your journal and blogs, yay for freedom of speech!)

Oh and rateing the Vids with one star woudn't hurt either. :wiggle

    13. I just saw the video... I'm really sad about this... Many people were fooled by her/him. They love the art and bought it then when they found out that it was just a TRACED or COPIED work they will be ashamed...

I feel really angry when read about her reply saying that she/he didn't traced it... Denying everything. Does she/he aware what she/he said could be used in court against her/him? Let's spread the word and I believe that we can give justice to those who truly work hard for sake of art.

    14. Mijn is a female :)

I read a few pages ago of people doing their own vectors of their own dolls? Mijn posted up an image with all these vector lines if anyone hasn't seen it yet.. I have no clue about vector art so I don't understand it :sweat

    15. haha.. thanks limedragon, I'm having trouble recognizing her with that name...

anyways, I hope this will end...

Has any of the companies involve aside from DIM responds on this case?

    16. It's sad to say, as just as this plight to bring justice down on her thefty behind.. This also benefits her on so many levels. My photography teacher had mentioned on our last day of class, "The best thing that can happen to you is for your work to be taken down or your gallery shut down because every one will want to know what's going on." She's gonna get hype. Correction.. She's getting hype. I didn't even know who this chica was until this incident, and I doubt that it's going to stop sales until people yank the products away.

    17. Which is why it is important that the BJD Companies must do something. It their intellectual property, and they have the right to stop such plagiarism.

    18. It's sad to see people are taking down their own photograps out of fear of theft. If something was made clear to me by this thread it's that theft is not appreciated and people will be made aware if an image gets used illegally.
It actually makes me feel confident about posting pictures here. People here do care.
