Asleep Eidolon Limited Mermaid Discussion (6th anniversary)

I know how you feel! I couldn't decide between the dark blue and the aqua until I really thought through the type of mermaid I wanted. I think the dark blue will work well with her darker, more evil than innocent image. Your customizations sound awesome! Can't wait to see how it turns out, and I hope you post lots of pics

Soo sad that I can't get Sachiel, he's just gorgeous T_T All the mermaids are! I am dying to see owners pics of them all!!!!

 

Anyone who pre-ordered from the January batch gotten any email? Only email I've gotten was the initial order email :/

 

I'm in the January group too and have not received anything. I wouldn't expect any news anytime soon though, the November batch (I think it was November, anyways) all just got an e-mail saying that their dolls were all delayed until mid to late March...So ours will probably be even later, though who knows by how long. =/

Does anyone know what the deal is? Why have they been delayed? My order is in the January batch...

 

Oh, because there was a bunch of the mermaids in that order and they want to make sure they're made well, or something like that...I'm not sure how much this will push back our batch, though. What I'm confused about is that MoC states on their website that AE doesn't accept a new order until the previous one is finished, right? Well, how come AE didn't complete the November order before accepting the January batch? I guess I don't really completely understand their system.

EDIT: Erm, I just realized that my post sounds really impatient, which was so not my intention!

 

I may have missed that part somewhere, but has any of the mermaids arrived yet?
I could die to see a boxopening, been drooling over Crystal for some time :P

 

I have a question, I noticed on the order form for Cordelia,it says this:

"Variant Chest & Waist: Cordelia's chest and waist can be switched to the same measurements as the other mermaids in the series; chest 22.5cm & waist 15.5cm. If you would like your doll to have the variant chest and waist please make note of it in the Comments Box at check-out, we will email you confirming that your request."

what do they mean? Why does she have a different chest and waist,and whats the difference between the two looks wise? I wish they showed a picture of the difference,is it just that she has smaller bust and bigger waist,and she can be changed to have a smaller waist/bigger bust like the others?

And on the tail resin,was it ever figured out if the tail is actually colored resin,or just painted white resin?Because MOC website makes it sound as if it is colored resin..:/ Im confused!

Hi, they mean that she has a younger body. The chest piece has smaller breast and the waist is less defined. There is no photo of the body but you can kind of see it in the cordelia photos anyway. She has a different design and looks younger than the other girls. There's no real why. The company chose to do it this way. If you want a mature girl change the body. If you like her young keep her the way she was designed.

The tail is colored resin that is then painted for the U.S. market. In the Asian market the customer can choose to have skin colored resin or white resin. I figure it's because in the U.S. most ppl don't like it when the paint chips and you see the resin color underneath.

Yes. The color is different according to the color you choose, Pink, Hot pink, Orange, aqua, dark blue I think are the colors. I forget. IF you look closely I would say the orange is probably cast in a light orange, the aqua is cast in a light blue and the two pinks are probably cast in a very light pink and a normal darker pink. I can't tell what color the dark blue tail is but the fin parts are a translucent dark blue.

 

Thank you so much Invie! You have been very helpful! I wish they let you choose the colors for the bra tops and the harps! It would be neat to have them in other colors besides the same color for everything.

I do like that the tails are colored resin though,because I hate the idea of chipping.

I have another question,for you or anyone who has an asleep eidolon, how does their resin feel?Is it really smooth,or is it toothy?

Has anyone been able to find any more box opening threads? I remember MOC having that one Chinese box opening of Cordelia on the Facebook but I'm really hoping to see a Sachiel box opening.

I'm getting soooo impatient to see my Sachiel, ShadowMist! I'd love to see a box opening for him, too...

 

See, I knew there had to be another person that ordered a Sachiel! You're not in the AE waiting room are you? My name is the only one under the Sachiel column. Anyway, I'm getting kinda anxious myself. It can't be long now, theres only 2 weeks left to the month. I sure hope he gets here before my birthday next month, though that would be a cool present. ^_^

 

Hey,so I was wondering. On the mermaid torso...does it look as if the colored part(the top of the mermaids tail where it connects to the body)is simply painted? Rather than a separate piece?
Like with the peapod mermaid tails,the dolls torso and the top joint of the tail that connects the torso to the rest of the tail are two separate pieces..but from what I can tell I am not sure its that way with these. Does anyone know? If its just painted..making them sit and be upright alot is going to result in alot of paint rubs...

I'm fairly sure it's a separate piece.

Mint on Card posted on their Facebook page that they received a large shipment from AE, but the mermaids (and their parts), are all mixed in with the other dolls. So they're having to go through and match the bodies, heads and extras up to their individual orders and repackage them. It's gonna take some time, and they ask that people wait a while before emailing them to request status updates, as having to answer emails will slow the sorting and packaging of the dolls.

So we're that much closer to having these beauties home!

 

ShadowMist, I am indeed in the AE waiting room. Though you've probably noticed that since you posted here... I can't wait to get my Sachiel; when you get him, could you please spam?

My Kina feels so much more complete now that she has a proper faceup. I've been wondering if anybody else has a Kina, because I can't find any others on DoA, and even a flickr search doesn't turn up anything.

 

For anyone waiting on their mermaids, here's what MOC told me today, it should ease some minds.

"There is a backlog with Asleep Eidolon, we have yet to receive some of the dolls from our November order with them. The mermaids are very labor intensive to make, so they are running behind with everything. They allowed us to submit new orders so the casters could begin casting them while the finishers finished the previous order, but finishing the mermaids (sanding all the dolls and tiny accessories, painting, assembling, packing, etc) is taking longer than they thought it would."

It's a good idea to keep an eye on MOC's News page, or their facebook page, to stay updated on AE order statuses.

 

They are sooo pritty I want one of each!
