1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Asleep Eidolon Tiny, Pt.2

Aug 24, 2013

    1. @Lutopienne I think they are pretty new, meaning, just been released recently. But unfortunately already sold out from AE. Legend doll must have special agreement with AE, as some other limited dolls long sold out can still be purchased from Legend doll (eg. the mermaids).

Apart from Freya/Freya SP, they also have Azuki/Azuki SP and also Clear from Xagadoll (i'm pretty sure they are all sold if you buy an msd/sd dolls too, so not sold separately) These are 3D printed, so might not be on topic for DoA, fyi. Perhaps better to discuss this on Brigadoon.

    2. I found them by accident a few days ago! I immediately ordered the tiny Freya and just ordered Clear. Both through Legend and with a MSD owner. They will be off topic but they can be props with an on topic doll.

    3. @marxwyn thank you for your answer, we'll have to wait and see of they are released alone then
I wasn't aware they were not fit for this category, my bad, I thought they were classic BJDs :sweat

@nancy_schroeder_ca can't wait to see your pictures then :)

    4. Hello~! Does anyone have a 26cm Freya (the mature mini one) and could tell me what size of eyes fit her the best? Her description on LegendDoll says 7mm but I always take the description measurements with a grain of salt.
I'd like to know the eye size, pupil size, and if the eyes are high dome or low dome, thanks :chibi (but any information is better than none!)
I'm going to order her soon and I want to have at least a pair or two of eyes that fit her when she eventually gets home :fangirl:

    5. I have the 26cm Freya. I will try to get her out and check what eyes they gave her. I find that low or no dome eyes are better for BJD's especially the small ones!

Update! I took her picture. The irises measure 4mm and the eye openings are 7mm from corner to corner. it was very hard to get the whites of the eyes to show in the photo. I'm tempted to try 8mm/3mm eyes but it might make me want to change the eyes in all my AE little ones!

    6. Thank you so much!
I ordered my Freya on Sunday, and I know she won't be here for at least 4 months (the production estimate time was 5-6 months but I'm being optimistic) but I'm already hoarding preparing for her arrival. She sure is a convenient size to shop for!

    7. I'm finding myself eyeing some of the AE mature tinies, especially Kiir. She is still available on legend doll.
Does anyone have her? I would love to see owner pictures.
And does anyone know what eye size she takes? I am guessing it's in the 6-8mm range, but at these small sizes it doesn't take much to mess up the fit. Iris size would also be valuable, if anyone knows anything.

Any first hand information at all would be helpful at this stage. :)

    8. I bought the full set Kiir from Legend. She came with eyes. I will try to get a picture for you.

    9. Thank you, that would be great!

    10. Sorry about the double post, but I ordered not only Kiir, but also a male Cordelia. :dance
I am slightly breaking my own rules, because I've decided not to buy more then one doll at a time, but I couldn't help it. They are so pretty. Hopefully I won't be too overwhelmed with trying to figure them both out at once. At least they are small and not super expensive.

Now begins the long wait. Legend Doll estimates 5-6 months.

    11. Does someone have picture of the 1/12 tiny additional dolls by asleep eidolon ? (There was freya and lyne from what I remember). I’ve been searching for pictures and potentially one for sale for months but no one seems to have one :...( so in case you own one and would be okay to show me the posing and potentially some comparison with other dolls of this size that would be very helpful for me. thank you in advance :)

    12. I have a couple. I'll try to get some pictures.

    13. Thank you so much :3nodding:

    14. I've got a shipping notice! This is way faster than I had expected. :dance
The tracking works and it looks like the package will be taken over by the Swedish postal system when it arrives. That is a good thing, since many of the independent shipping companies have been unreliable lately.

So if nothing too unexpected happens, I should have my new dolls soon!
      Wish me luck.

Edit to update: They cleared customs and should be here any day now! :)
Why is it that the months of production time are bearable, but the final days of shipping always seem to take forever?
Any spam to tide me over? :abambi:

    15. They are here!

They arrived safely and was very well packed. Over all I am very happy with them, but I am a little surprised at how much smaller the Crodelia head looks compared to the Kiir. The chin, mouth and nose area is almost identical, but the Cordelia eyes are not just narrow, but also a several millimeters lower and closer together, making the entire face surface much smaller and the over all proportions of the head reading very differently. But hopefully the face-up can compensate somewhat.
They have a rather sterile look to them in person, I suspect they are probably digitally sculpted and perhaps a bit rushed, the lower part of the face seems almost copy pasted with very little attempt at cutomization. But again, the face-up should be able to fix that.

The joints are very snappy. They are not the worst I've seen, but right of the box pretty much all joints (except ankles and wrists, that are real ball joints) can only be positioned in their extremes. Arms straight down or straight out, elbows straight or 90 degree angle etc. Even the heads don't really fit the neck, there is gapping and they are very snappy and wants to turn to the side.
The over all feel is that of an early prototype, not quite ready for production yet. I mean, they are undeniably pretty, but the point of a BJD is, well ball joints.
I'll try the classic workarounds first, because I really don't feel like a mod project, but I don't rule it out. I want my dolls to function and be pleasant to handle.
Any ideas from those of you who've had these bodies for a while? Any tried and true tricks beyond just sueding and thicker elastic?

Don't get me wrong, I am very much nit picking here. Over all I am happy and considering the reasonably low prize and the relatively quick production, they are really not bad dolls.
I am looking forward to figuring these two out. This is such a fun scale for playing around with.
I have a Maskcat Joy that I hope they will look good next to. If so, perhaps she can also finally get a personality of her own after years of vague "just a pretty doll that is fun to make things for" limbo. :)

Nyrea made a friend in the garden :kitty2

Silly question, where could a person buy an asleep eidolon cutie? I got mine second hand back in 2011! and was thinking she might want a friend :whee:
