1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

B&G (Boy & Girl) Discussion

Mar 22, 2007

    1. Just here to verify the eye size and wig size for B&G's 60cm boys. I see it's 8-9 but I just wanted to be sure. And I'm not sure about the eye-size at all because the site just doesn't say. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :-D

I'm getting a B&G Sky, by the way. I just wanted to make sure I had stome stuff waiting for him for when he got home. XD

    2. My first doll is a B&G morant, they are wonderful dolls, wonderful company, and the quality is superb. i think people get a lil iffy because their prices are lower then say luts, soom, iplehouse, etc but really 330-400 isnt THAT cheap. they are just a newer company; usually new companies aren't going to charge as much as ones that are extremly popular and well known. I love morant and have many B&Gs planned and im hopeing they make more sculpts.

as for eye size it depends on the sculpt, morant takes 16, sky probably takes 18

    3. Ya know, these really are wonderful dolls, I have Fairyland, Resinsoul, Soom, Luts, Dollstown, Demon Garden, Souldoll, Pipos, and Elfdoll, and I have to say that I am really impressed with B&G - far more impressed than I am with some of my more expensive dolls!!! I had opporunity to buy my first B&G msd from a friend, and I'm about her 4th owner and I'm really, really happy with this doll. The standing and posing is superb! Because of this experience I have quite a few B&G dolls added to my wishlist and I do fear that before I'm able to acquire them the prices will increase.

The sculpts they have seem to be very beautiful, I'm glad to see their faceups have improved quite a bit - they look more like other BJDs and a lot less plain.

    4. Yes, you're correct. I have emailed them about it. It figures I normally love and want elf ears on my dolls because most are fairies but for the Elf-Afta I want human ears - the face sculpt is perfect for one of only two human dolls I plan to have! :doh Doesn't that figure?!! But anyway, yes, I have discussed it with them and it is possible.
They seem to have trouble with their Q&A - lots of people post there but they've said they don't receive them - they have to be emailed.

    5. Lets add that now B&G are UV protected resin... that's very good.
Beautiful molds, good pose ability, good quality resin, UV protection... what more we need?

    6. I have a B&G Aurora on order, and I had also ordered a dress for her to wear when she got here. Unfortunately, it turns out the dress needs far more detailed measurements than I can get from their website, and I haven't been able to locate a chart anywhere online with these measurements. Is there one out there that I have missed (the ones here at DoA don't seem to have anything more than the company website.) If not, has anyone measured their Aurora this completely, and if so, would you be willing to share those measurements? *makes with the "pretty please?" eyes* I've filled in what I can find, I just need some detailed chest, arm, and length measurements.

      With everlasting gratitude...

    7. Didn't see a discussion thread truly dedicated for owners (or potential owners) of the beautiful SD-sized works of art from the BJD company, Boy&Girl(B&G). So feel free to come in and share/discuss/learn!

I myself am the proud new owner of a tan-skin B&G boy Freya! (pics will follow very soon!

    8. That´s a really good idea, sexyblackfire :sweat
Will post tons pics of Sapphira when he´s here. Maybe next week :aheartbea

And congrats again. Are you satisfied with your order? Which hands do you get with your doll? I´ve seen 2 versions of hands. The old ones left hand looks a bit weird to me. Hope the type 2 body will have the other hand version.

(Sorry for my bad english :blush)

    9. Yes, I am certainly satisfied with my darling new resin child. His hands seemed to have a relaxed and natural appearance. Honestly can't say much more since Kiba is my first purchase from the company (but definitely not the last!)

    10. You have the type 3 body? I think there are other hands, as with a type 2 body. And i´ve ordered the second version.

    11. A few snap shots of Kiba!

    12. Can you order the Type3 version hands separately? I didn't know that? Where did you order them from? I have a Version1 Afra, and I really hate the hands that came with that boy!

    13. If you do that, make sure and ask B&G if they can make the hands in urethane resin. They're casting in translucent environmental resin now.

    14. Thanks Reshana! I didn't know they had changed resins.

    15. My B&G Freya will arrive any day now ^_^

    16. i really love the 1/3 Sky.

he is quite reasonably priced, so I'm very tempted to get him. Since I'm waiting for my Soulkid Liddell (probably won't come in for another 6/7 weeks or so) I've been browsing for some 1/3 dolls.

when I saw Sky, i fell in love <3 he's so adorable. But I've heard that the one on the website is Sky version 2? What does Sky version 1 look like?

    17. Originally, the B&G doll heads were gender neutral. The neck wells will fit both the male and female bodies. Back in the type 1 days, a male was called Sky and a female was called Freya, but they were the exact same head mold. Then they upgraded to the type 2 bodies and heads. The Sky/Freya mold was updated, the eyes were modified to look less wide-eyes and the lips and ears to were fixed to look a little more natural. They produced the type 1 and 2 heads simultaneously, but put the type 1 heads on the type 2 bodies. Then when the type 3 bodies came out, they decided to designate the type 1 head as Sky (to match the dreaming sky head which was based on the original type 1 head) and the type 2 head as Freya. The heads are still gender neutral meaning you can make a female Sky and a male Freya, but they just made a defined name change to make it easier to pick a head mold without the confusion of the type1/type2 thing.

To clarify: The current Sky head mold is the exact same as the original type 1 Sky/Freya mold and the current Freya head mold is the updated type 2 head. And yes, you can still gender swap both.

ETA: check my siggy. I have an original type 1 Freya with the big eyes (looks like the current Sky model) and the type 2 Freya with the updated face mold. See the difference? Oh, and I was kicking myself for buying the type 2 Freya when I did because a few months later they came out with the type 3 double jointed bodies. And if you want to see the differences in the bodies, check my photo album. I have pictures comparing the two bodies and heads.

    18. Ravyn42, thank you for that well explained post. That answers everything I needed to know! Your comparison album is great and I can really see the difference in Freya's head T1 to T2.

I'm really loving the Sky sculpt but I'm still indecisive as to whether I can find something similar in MSD.

But he's so cute I might have to just jump the gun :D

    19. Glad I could help! after all, that's what we're here for!

As for the MSD version, you can find similarities in the msd sculpts but none of them were intended to be 'young' sculpts of the SD versions. It would be a toss up between Sharon and Ymir (and if you want a female version, they can gender swap as well).

As for me, I am totally in love with both the Sky and Freya molds (I own, both, so I guess that makes sense). I love the type 2 Freya so much, but since the type 1 version was my first doll so there is a very special place in my heart for her and could never give her up.

It just sucks that they switched resins. I was wanting to upgrade them both to type 3 double jointed bodies, but I can't because they are not made from the new French Resin and would not match their new bodies. I guess I could just pack them away and buy new Freyas, but that just sucks. Well, not so much for my type 1, I guess. She has white skin (which always looked a bit yellow to me) and after they released the type 3 bodies they started casting a pink skin resin. I think she would look very nice in pink skin, so getting a new doll has always hung there as an option for me, but now I have to get two dolls. The biggest debate is whether to get two type 2 freyas and mod the second one to look more like the type mold. I love the fixes to the lips and ears so much, but French Resin is notoriously hard to mod (or so I've heard). It's just an eye opening, so it shouldn't be too much of a big deal, right? I've done more complicated mods than that!

And the new resin does indeed look very nice, but B&G has always been so popular because their bodies are so versatile that they can be used for body swapping with other companies. Not anymore....

    20. I curently have a Minimee on a B&G boy type 2 body. I love that body:) It is slim and beautiful and easier to dress up in the more girly clotes that I use to dress this type of character in. And also I think he poses very well considered that he is a single jointed body. I am very very pleased with that body. And I was lucky to get high heeled fets for him when I bought him second hand. But have no idea where those feets are from though.

I have started to fall more and more for B&G Sandra with those huge eyes:aheartbea. Of course I do not know if I will end up buying her yet. But I might just end up doing so later some time. She is just adorable:)

I can`t post pictures anywhere or post links on this forum:( Does anyone else have that problem? I klick on the insert image and link images but nothing happen..
