Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Be With You: age27 doll Discussion

Aug 28, 2013

    1. Ooooooh! Lovely to see him! Feel free to spam any time!

Yes, I'm hoping komoyochan's post above with the clothes, stays forever. I need to save up for some clothes AND Star.

    2. i've always wondered how practical wood would be for sculpting a BJD! i love the idea! i like how he's so nicely proportioned! thanks for sharing this!

    3. I have a question...did everyone's Wood come with a certificate?

I ask because a girl on my local ebay is trying to sell Wood's head, since she wanted to keep the body. The listing has been sitting there forever and she finally decided to drastically reduce the price. I thought it was a good idea to snag it. So I go and bid on it. But then I asked her if I could have a photocopy of the certificate after I bidded. She told me there was no certificate and the body only came with a booklet. She couldn't give me the booklet (which I didn't really want anyways) but could only photocopy the pages pertaining to the head. It seemed a little strange to me, so I went and checked up vevet's box opening and lo-and-behold there is a certificate as well as a booklet. The certificate came in an envelope.

So I ask her about this and her next message came back really rude. She said the listing didn't include the certificate so she didn't have to give me jack, not even as much as a photocopy. And if I suspect her, she can cancel my bid. She said since I bidded, I should agreed to her terms. And I should read the fine print more closely.

I would have...except it was in Chinese...

Well...I guess she can afford to be rude since there was someone before me that wanted the head. I wouldn't have bid on it at all if I had known coz I don't like fighting over stuff...and it gives too much power to the seller.

EDIT: Whatever the outcome. I sent a treacle laden post and I told her I was sorry for asking what I believe was a decent question. And since it caused her SO MUCH HASSLE to provide a certificate, she can cancel my bid. I bet she'll want to delete that listing fast so people don't see her as a rude seller.

I actually bought a head from her before so I'm really surprised at her unprofessional attitude.
I guess I have trouble expressing myself well in Chinese so I probably sounded really rude to her as well.
But yeah...I never really liked buying second hand and I was only interested because she said she never played with it, same for the other head.

This just cements my attitude about buying in second-hand markets. NO GO ZONE.

    4. yuan_mdx: Hello Yuan ^_^, The booklet/manual is the certificate. The last page of the booklet have a signature of Mr YG and the serial number of the doll (Wood is a limited to 70, mine was 7 and that's why I call him "Seven") there's a golden metallic stamp too with the DollsBe logo in that page.

I think there's no any problem the seller send you a photocopy or proof of that last page. Maybe she/he was thinking you want the entire booklet. :o

    5. ah~thank you for clarifying that bit for me. So I guess the girl is legit after all coz that's what she explained in Chinese and I didn't really understand what she was getting at. I was so sure the certificate came in that sealed envelope. Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking vevet, what WAS that envelope with YG's wax seal logo??

    6. yuan_mdx: The booklet/certificate, was inside of that envelope. ;) By the way, I have another DollsBe doll (Paprika) and the envelope do not have the wax seal, just a cute nice sticker. Maybe Age27 have that because they are limited or maybe the wax seal is too much problem to make to our busy good Mr YG :XD:

    7. I wanted to say I love what all of you have done with your dolls so far! They're so pretty and the default faceups YG does are by far the best I've ever seen. I'm currently saving up for him (I have a savings fund split between him and a body for another doll).

    8. [IMG]

Took the nice camera out to get a little better photos of the roommate's Wood (his name is Wyatt.)

The eye mechanism in the back of the head is interesting. For sure we're going to look for brighter eyes (the ones he came with were super pretty, but a little dark) though since it's the first eye-thing either of us have ever dealt with, we're not totally sure were to look. (Brighter acrylics with a stem? Glass eyes with long stems?)

And his feet... well, the ball joint (or at least the joint, since it's not very ball shaped) reminds us both of the Iplehouse feet. That is to say; very particular with the position you have them angled. With 76cm of big, hunky resin it's a bit more problematic than 45cm of resin that the two JIDs in the house have but I think if he gets ankle supporting shoes, he'll stand a bit better. Lord knows it works on my Dreamingdoll Hue who's ankle joints are fused to the leg.

    9. What do you mean by 'Sculpt: Wood'? You don't mean he's made of wood?

    10. The sculpt name is 'Wood', but he's very much made of resin. They're making another one named 'Starr' though he hasn't been released yet. Currently Wood is the only Age27 sculpt available from the company.

    11. bandit1971: Is good to see another Wood here. Yes, I had some little problems with his ankles too, he's tall and heavy and the smooth silicone pads in his ankles makes him unstable to stand up. He works better with some boots, I removed the silicone part of the ankles and he's now more steady, a LOT more. ;)

    12. I'll talk to the roommate about whether or not he wants to remove the silicone xD But I think getting him boots (or maybe high top sneakers?) might be more in his favor. I LOVE the faveup on your Seven. If I ever personally get my own I'm probably going for option B. It's just so pretty.

    13. bandit1971-- Wyatt is a cutie. Like the wig, too. Which faceup is he? I thought I'd like B best, but his looks good, too! :)

    14. He's got faceup A ^^ And thanks about the wig xD It's temporary until the roomie finds one he likes better but we unfortunately don't own a lot of spare 9" wigs ah.

    15. bandit1971: Sure! that was my first option too, and using a high shoes helps a lot! but I'm so afraid that my giant falls that I takes extra care of that; by the way, the silicone parts can be installed again with no problem no glue needed. Face up A is so good, is a soft look that I like a lot, I have to admit that I was not sure of choosing one of the 3 option because all 3 are good, at the end I tried to change to C but the face up was already done and I saw the pictures and I was super happy with the B option. If I get a Star, he may look Asian like C type.

    16. Ah that's something to keep in mind then for sure, if they go back in easily. I have plans of restringing the big guy this week since his legs uh, dangle a little bit (reminds me of the wear SOOM's with heavy fantasy parts get.) so I'll figure out what all the roomie wants me to do. (Maybe a bit of sanding? The strangely rough resin is...odd in its consistency. Is Seven like that?)

    17. bandit1971: Yes. The resin is a bit rough to the touch in some parts.

    18. I saw Wood at the Austin BJD convention, he is beautiful and I want him even more now. I am at my limit right now and unless I sell a doll or two he won't be coming home with me. I can't stand not having time with each doll and having to many means just that.
So - I love you Wood - maybe someday!

    19. Ah, was Wood at the Doll Peddler table?

I wish I could have gone to the BJDC this year, but I've got conventions just before and just after that I have to be at, so I just couldn't do it... :(

    20. this boy is BEAUTIFUL!!! i think it's the one i saw pictures before where they have an eye mechanism similar to pullip where the eyes can look left, right, up and down together so you don't have to remove the eyes to change them, just move the post/thing with the wig off...
