1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Being gifted the wrong doll.

Dec 19, 2013

    1. My mum will never think of buying a doll for me so no worries there.
My dad, more troublesome. He'll find the cheapest alternative and think that's good enough whether it be a barbie or a recast.
My sister, maybe in the past, but now she's poor and has mortgage to pay so no worries there either.

    2. I have a list of what dolls I want and which skin tones and extra parts I'd want with them. Honestly, I'd be thrilled to be gifted any legit doll in any color since it's the thought that counts.

    3. If I was gifted a wrong doll, I would politely say to the giver, 'actually, the doll you give is a wrong one, is it okay for me to sell it and buy the one I like?'. This has actually happen to me but in form of an electronic. And the giver say 'Go ahead, I was actually unsure so it will better if you get the one you want'.
But if the doll is a gift out of blue, I will try to treasure it :)

But then I don't think anyone will ever give a BJD as a gift. So if somebody do give me one, I think it as a miracle and always keep it~

    4. My boyfriend almost got me a doll for last Christmas and I was so glad that he didnt. He knows I ino bjd hobby and he went online to browse the doll sites to look for one. He discovered a site where they were selling not only bjds but also other dolls. He quit this idea because he didnt understand much about the dolls and had no clue what a face up, blushing or any other buying features are. In the end he bought me something else and he told me that he allmost got me a doll that wasnt bdj =)

    5. No one I know, knows anything about how to order a Bjd, so I get the money from like say my hubby and buy the doll I want. It works great for me and in the end he knows I'm very happy to get the one I want ;)

    6. I don't think anyone I know would know how to even order a bjd for me so this is highly unlikely. If someone did want to gift me one I think it would be more likely for them just to give me the dollar amount. However if someone ever did gift me a doll that I didn't particularly want, I think I would still be happy with it. A gift is still a gift and I'm sure I could find a way to make the doll fit into my collection. I'm also the type to find something she likes and then stick with it (this is why I have so many Latis and am reluctant to order from other companies), so if someone gifted me a doll that was from a company I didn't normally look at, or in a size I didn't normally get, or a boy (because I only have girls), then it'd be a great chance for me to play with something new that I wouldn't have normally gotten for myself :)
