Bermann.Do, Preorder started -TensiYa.com

Ok...today's the 3rd....anyone get a shipping notice from Anu for HDM? Not I... Her notice said ALL shipped by Oct. 4. So...is this another no-go?

 

Steph, I think today was a Korean holiday. Hopefully, we'll hear something tomorrow or Wednesday. Maybe Anu wants to get all 11 of the Bermanns shipped before she sends out tracking numbers.

 

In theory, number-wise I have the first HDM Bermann, and I currently have NO shipping address to which he can go by EMS because of technicalities with my living situation while I'm an intern this semester. Anu was supposedly going to contact me before they are shipped, and besides that, thanks to the snafu with the shopping cart and shipping and aestetics and how I could only get 1 or the other... I still owe Tensiya shipping money... and before shipping, I was also supposed to be told where to send shipping money to. ...but I haven't heard anything from Anu and Tensiya since the aknowledgement in August that I have no trustworthy shipping address. This leads me to think that either a.) HDM's are still a ways from being shipped, b.) She's forgotten that I exist, or c.) Is going to ship Leon to an out-dated address. :cry:

I think it's time to send Tensiya another e-mail

 

Oh No! That is so scary! Anu seems to answer on the 1:1 Q/A board fairly well. You should try both 1:1 and e-mail! I will pray it will work out for you!!!! Please let us know what happens! Hugs to you!!!!

I'm not terribly surprised to find no news of HDM yet as many times when Anu has posted 'X will happen in next two weeks' or 'I'll update again on moday' it rarely occurs on said times. So, no offense intended to Anu at all, but I don't think keeping dates is one of her fortes. I'd tend to see Anu's dates more like guidelines. Shouldn't worry, Like Abbie says, hopefully we'll hear something in the next few days.

Edit - Just want to reiterate as a result of the following posts, that I meant no disrespect with above comment, it is light hearted and not intended to be derogatory or criticising. I apologise if the remarks upset any fellow posters. No ill-will intended.

Well, to be fair, some of the steps in creating him are beyond her control. She doesn't paint the face-ups or make the wigs or shoes, she doesn't cast the dolls.

Even Volks has delays when their suppliers don't make expected deadlines.

I imagine her creative efforts, designing him and sewing the clothes herself, are long-since done. I really hope you all get him soon - can't wait to see him. ^_^

 

Actually, I have observed that this phenomenon is not limited to Tensiya. I am waiting on another Korean doll company to ship a doll to me on " last day of September". I have not been to Korea, and am not familar with social customs there, but I think Sanjian may be correct. We tend to think in absolutes in the US, but other cultures may not. I would be in serious trouble in Texas if I promised to do something on a certain date and then failed to do it, but it may be quite different in Korea. Oh well, I guess he'll get here when he's ready. I really need to be cleaning house instead of haunting my email , so I think that is what I will do. Hang in there, everyone! (lol)~~Lin

 

Oh, Yes of course, hence i say 'no offence intended to Anu', I realise not everything is under her absolute control. Delays are inevitable really aren't they.

Personally, I really do not think she should post dates that she cannot commit to. It's very unfair to all in question, including her.

I think the wait for all involved has gone on far too long. I hope you who are waiting get some compensation, like the Hound outfit or something, and she gets some money back for whatever she has spent to have the dolls casted/painted.

Well, the main picture on the website has been changed to an HDM related one, that's usually a good sign.

*waits patiently for the next Bermann*
*tries not the think about impossibly brief window of availability*

I find it interesting, all this talk of dead lines.

It's tough to give a definitive deadline if you are working on a project, and are dependant on others to complete their tasks first.

I know lawyers have troubles meeting deadlines, at times, and they have a bevy of helpers at their beckon call 24/7. Research & Development people have the same troubles; as do Chemical and Mechanical Engineers. In all cases, the job they perform is their primary job.

Doll making is a secondary job for most of these doll makers. Most of them burn the candle at both ends.

I would hope the Pope didn't jumped all over Michelangelo for not completing The Sistine Chapel on time.....but, who knows... >.<

I grant you making a doll is not the Sistine Chapel, however, artists are artists...not a good idea to rush a creation.

Can't you just picture a gaggle of Bermann's all strolling around the airport like they own the place? I'm pretty sure my Bermann would declare he is 'Fashionably late!'

I know they will be up to Anu's high standards when they arrive. ^_^

 

I don't think we're jumping all over her. We respect Anu and love her work. We'd just like a little communication and to know what's happening. We're anxious to see the boys we've been anticipating since April.

If I'm remembering correctly (there was a movie about it, I'm not saying I was there or anything) the Pope was absolutely livid about Michelangelo not completing the Sistine Chapel on time. Not that thats any excuse.
