Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     4. It can be spelled Matlasse or Matelesse. It's a woven fabric that is very dimensional, has a repeating pattern, usually flowers, or geometric in nature. The pattern is woven into the fabric giving it the dimensional quality. It can be silk,cotton or what ever....This looks like a cotton Matlasse. You don't often see really nice matlasses.....I prefer matlesse bedspreads/coverlets to almost anything. ^^

It was the picture of him without his beautiful coat and pants that made me jump for him instead of waiting to see the next doll's outfit. his parted long dark hair, the fabulous detail of his shirt, that textured white on white is a favorite of mine and I love to make things with white matelasse. Anu always uses the nicest fabrics.

      glad to see I'm not the only one studying the site , the pix, the words on every page!

      I love fabrics! Plain and simple, especially vintage ones!!^^

      Jessica, a jacquard is a woven fabric, too! ^^ But it's different from a matlasse.

      Matlasses are usually only one colour, and the pattern is in the dimensions created with in the fabric by the weaving. Those dimensions are the flowers or geometric patterns that rise above the fabric's surface. This is very dimensional fabric.

      A Jacquard is usually different colours woven together to derive the pattern. Usually there's no great dimensional aspect to the fabric. A flat fabric, thought it can be a heavy one.

    13. I'm committed to the dolls I've recently purchased... but WOW--those pictures really have me wanting a Berman badly! I love the costumes, the wigs... and the sculpts!!! I didn't think I'd be tempted so much by Bermans (not that I don't like them! Just that I can't get every pretty thing I see)--but these are just incredible!!!

    15. Okay, I'll admit sometimes I'm a bit slow on the uptake.

      I was looking at Anu's gorgeous dolls and it dawned on me...Shinsengumi..of Kenshin fame...That wonderful over robe of blue with the black triangle inlay sleeves.

      I also noticed that metal piece on the head band of Naruto fame. I've no clue if the real Shinsengumi wore those metals or not.... 0.o But, I was quite take with the detail of this out fit as well...^^

      I wish Anu had taken pics of the under garments on this doll.....

    16. That seems to have been a standard piece of equipment for the Shinsengumi, as you also see it in other stories about them (Peacemaker Kurogane being the most recent example). Makes sense, as a lightweight way to protect your forehead.

      How much was shipping?
      If anyone in the US ordered him, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.
      I'm saving for one of the open eyed Bermanns, and it would be helpful to know what the postage ran.
