1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Best. Eyes. Ever!

Jan 18, 2014

    1. I'm hooked on Soom silicone eyes. They are a decent price at ~$25 per pair, and they are squishy so they are easy to fit and place in the head. I like how they catch the light even in my dreaming heads and that is the main reason why I like them so much. I've tried several other eyes and they ended up looking so dark and shadowy in my dreaming suclpts (especially in pictures), but not these. Here is an example of 14mm Lilac in my Romantic Amber boy:

I also like Dollshe's urethane eyes. They also catch light pretty well and I love the detail in the irises.

    2. While there are some absolutely stunning urethane and high end glass and silicone eyes out there, I tend to go cheap on eyes, and put the money into wigs and clothes more. As a result, I generally never spend over $25 a pair on eyes.

My favorites are Soom and Eyeco silicone eyes purchased from Safrin Doll($12-26/pr) and glass eyes from Captured in Glass, who will make custom sizes, iris sizes and color combos at very reasonable prices ($8.38-17/pr). I've had fast service from both of these sites.

    3. I also prefer the Soom silicone eyes. They are bright and show up even in dim light. I love how they fit, even in my dolls who always had gaps in the corners. No more gaps! The price is also great for silicone and they come in many colors.

    4. Honestly, I just kind of go everywhere. Mostly MoC's own line, and ebay. But I like boring old glass eyes, so. (And MoC has some crazy colors that I want.)
My roommate teases me, because when she moved in (before I was in the hobby), she was talking about doll eyes and it occurred to me that I had a set of acrylic eyes that I had bought off of ebay for one project or another. So I was sitting on 2 pairs of eyes with no idea that they belonged to bjds.
(Also I keep planning dolls around a pair of eyes instead a head like a normal person. oops. A doll which I just bought recently, I've had the eyes for for about a year now.)

I am going to check out some of the links posted, though, because silicone eyes sounds amazing.

    5. I do like Soom's eyes, but mostly because they have what I'm looking for in terms of style. I just hate when I'm out to only buy a pair of eyes and have to pay the same amount in shipping, haha.

    6. The best pair of eyes I've ever gotten were actually part of a fullset, but they were Oscar eyes, black with a black crystal as the iris. That girl is keeping her defaults...

    7. CandyKittensEmporium on Etsy makes lovely urethane eyes that are not very expensive at all! I love her stuff. I also hope to order from MakoEyes very soon for some incoming/planned dolls, so I'll come back here and comment once I have those. I also have a tiny-eyed boy coming in whose eyes are only 6mm, so I'm planning to get those from CapturedInGlass.

    8. Safrindoll & Eyeco are my easy peasy go to's. The eyes are beautiful and cost effective. My other favourites are Doll Bakery and Silent Paradise.

    9. One word: Eyeco. All my dolls wear Eyeco eyes. They make the most beautiful and natural eyes I have seen.

    10. Hey people! I am looking for my perfect pair of eyes but having a really hard time finding them. It's surprising since they are a very simple, blue glass eyes with darker outer rims. I don't know if asking here will do any good, but if anyone has a good suggestion I would be very grateful! Here are two pictures which show pretty much what I'm looking for;

      Thanks for reading! ^^

    11. 2 good choices could be Eyeco...I get mine from SafrinDoll...Doll Eyes Or maybe some of the MakoEyes will work? Makoeyes - Ball Jointed Doll Total Shop You'll have to look through all of their different types, but I'm willing to bet you'll see something that catches your eye....no pun intended. :)

      Good luck!!

    12. I completely empathize, since I've been on the hunt for 16mm blue/grey cat eyes for weeks with no luck. What size are you looking for?

    13. @AQueenOfAllTrades Thanks for the links! I've gone through Mako eyes in the past and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but a few good substitutes. I'll go look through the Safrindoll website right now!

@celga I'm on the hunt for 12mm, actually! Is it me or is this size even harder to find? There are a few good eye stores on ebay, too. But finding the right size/colour is such a pain!

    14. @celga DollBakery eyes are stunning! Sadly most of the colours I like are sold out... :( I'll keep an eye open for a restock!

Also, I'll tell you right away if I stumble on some blue/grey cat eyes during my search! ^^

    15. These are all some really nice eyes! I tend to just go with Luts, Leekeworld or whatever a retailer has on hand. I saw some really nice ones at Mako Eyes. http://makoeyes.com/
Those have been mentioned but I have not tried them.

    16. No, they're not exactly sold out - she makes each pair to order, and she only opens for orders every couple of months. Then she marks everything as sold out, works on all of the orders, and then opens for business again. If you actually have an interest in any of those eyes, the next order period starts in five days. You can go to this page, and if you scroll down it you'll see a countdown clock to when she'll open. Scroll even farther down the page and you'll see a spot to join her mailing list so that you get notifications. The eyes are super popular and the order period doesn't stay open long, though...I've seen it close in a matter of hours. :)

    17. @celga thanks for the heads up! I subscribed to the newsletter & hopefully one day I'll manage to get some of her amazing eyes (the Wisteria Jellies & the Denims are absolutely gorgeous!); right now I'm torn because of OscarDoll's preorder option on the new 14mm eyes *0* & I've also found some cuties on ebay for really cheap, but I'm worried they might not have the same effect as the one I'm looking for... Honestly, finding the perfect eyes can be such a pain! :doh

    18. Oscar-doll.com has some amazingly beautiful eyes! I fell in love with some of them and I think they add a little something extra to your dolls and make them really unique, especially if you are looking for that no-pupil look for your doll's eyes. The prices can be pretty pricey for some eyes (upwards to $50 and such), but they are sooooo gorgeous!
