Big or Little dolls?

Jan 19, 2015

    1. I definitely prefer the big dolls because they seem more expressive to me, although I find myself drawn to a lot of 1/6 recently!

    2. Aesthetically I like a variety, and it's fun to look at dolls of all sizes.

In terms of dolls I would actually like to own, though, I prefer MSD and smaller. I'm not very tall myself and I have small hands, so anything larger is a bit unwieldy for me to handle.

    3. I always look the MSD first, they call more my attention when it come to BJDs but I like some big 1/3 dolls or smallers too. It will depend of the sculpture.

    4. I like both. But my favorite is MSD not too big or too small :)

    5. I love both bigger dolls like SDs, and dolls between 21-30 cm. SO I collect them both ^^ I prefer mature tinies, though... I never liked dolls that look like children.
I love them both the same, I think... Though it is harder to find things like wigs and eyes for the smller ones :<

    6. hmmm, i like both, but have more favorites in the bigger size :)

    7. I've got 1/6 and 1/4 and I'm quite happy with those sizes. They're big enough to sew for, but still small enough to take traveling. While I like to look at the bigger dolls, I simply don't have space for one.

    8. I prefer the bigger dolls because it seems really cool to me that there are dolls bigger than the ones you'd normally find in a major retailer and they're easier to sew for in my opinion-- But I also have a soft spot for the tinier dolls. :aheartbea

    9. Oh man. I feel this so hard! I am currently struggling with my SD. She's just so big. She was my grail, so I'm having a hard time parting with her. I also feel guilty keeping her around when I'm not enjoying her so much. I've decided to give her some more time. I am hoping once I get her figured out I'll be happier with her. She was planned when I got her, but we just weren't/aren't bonding. I'm determined to bond with her, though, so I'm not giving up yet! :)

    10. I like dolls of all sizes :) I like bigger dolls partly because they have bigger heads and therefore more details in their faces (well, easier for me to see anyway). Overall I like MSD sized dolls the best too.

    11. I adore my MSD girl. I never thought I'd like a bigger doll. But I am completely obsessed with my 1/3 guy. I don't know if I'll ever go back.

    12. I think I am liking msd and yosd more than sd, because the sd are harder to handle and string :<
So I have stopped buying anymore sd and am going to collect the smaller bjds. Also, I think smaller=cuter! X3

    13. I prefer SD dolls because of the detailing on them. That being said, since space is tight where I live, I will probably start small. There is nothing wrong with small dolls and I think some are very cute. I'm just a sucker for big display pieces.

    14. My ideal size is 58-60cm. Anything bigger and I'd be worried about where to put them. Smaller and...well, they just don't appeal to me, simply put. If I wanted a child character I'd use a smaller doll though, 60cm doesn't seem to pull off "child" well, from what I've seen.

    15. I love the detail on larger dolls, but I really don't think I could own one so big.
Even though tiny dolls aren't really my thing, I'm being drawn towards buying a centaur tiny now, it's very cute.

    16. I like smaller dolls within 10-30 cm range, I wish there were more dolls in 1/6 scale with mature features. I like to look at SD and MSD, but I don't think I will ever buy one because they just seem too big. Why can't they make a 26 cm Minifee or something?? :|

    17. My friends who own YOSD, said they love how adorable their face ups and bodies are but they have a difficult time inserting eyes for them seeing as their head is really small (I remembered my friends finger got caught once and I had to help her pull it out XD)

on the other hand, I myself, prefer SD sizes since I love dressing them up and I feel that their size is really cuddly and "unique" they have that size that makes people think "oh that's definitely not a Barbie doll" and I'm happy because I really dislike it when people confuse BJD's with barbies :( but they are harder to carry and really heavy so that's a pain too

    18. My very first doll is an SD. I love the clothing options and how "grand" they can look, they especially make neat cosplay partners, but they are way too big for me.

I got my first tiny and oh my goodness! She is so portable and poseable and just the most wonderful thing in a tiny package.
plus with tinies i can do realistic dioramas that wont take up an entire room lol.

    19. Actually my favourite size is 1/6. But sds are more detailed and easier to dress, besides there is big assortment of them.

    20. I have two MSD's and I am very content with their size, I do like the look of SD's but I find them in irl a bit big for me. I think also space wise I prefer MSD's because I still live at home with my parents I only have limited space for dolls.
