Big or Little dolls?

Jan 19, 2015

    1. I love little dolls! I have a 42cm MSD, a 35CM OT girl and a 29CM robot yo. I want little ones and a bigger guy to go with my MSD. Nothing bigger than 52cm planned and even my OT dolls are mostly small. I love tiny, delicate dolls! I do like big dolls too though :)

    2. If you get a chance to see a few in person like at a meetup or if a friend has them then you can get a bit more idea of how the different sizes look and feel. You may like a mixture but whatever you get choose it because it's the one you want. Don't base your choice on others opinions. I have found that my love is the 65cm+ guys so I ended up selling most of my smaller ones.

    3. BOTH!

On a more serious note I understand. I have 1 tiny and 1 on the way, and even though there are 3 MSD and 1 SD on the wishlist the idea of their size is frankly terrifying to me right now. I'm still at the newbie stage where I handle my tiny as though she's made of glass, so thinking of a bigger doll is just thinking of more to potentially break ;__; but I'm sure I'll get over it in time. Hearing people say that bigger dolls are sturdier helps a lot, lol.

I think all sizes of dolls have their charm. Although I was initially drawn to tinies it's only taken a month in the hobby for my tastes to change, so I can see how someone who has been here years could have a family comprising of every size...and love them all equally :)

    4. A week ago i have to let go my Aiden hes from Iplehouse (storm) with the super hero body height -+70cm
because hes too big (for me) so its hard for me to took him anywhere and finally he just sitting there on my closet
i feel guilty and i know hes need someone who really can make him happy so my friend adopted him :)
Now im start to collect bjd with a small size
i have tiny delf dorothy at home (Miku) : shes 16cm
and now im waiting for Carrot from Dollsbe : shes yosd size with height -+28cm
i feel that im comfortable with this size
      its easy to take with
      cute face too
dont need many space in my closet
i can put it in anywhere to take a picture
hope you can make a good choice :)

    5. I personally like smaller dolls. It is lighter and easier to carry compare to the bigger ones.

    6. I like 50-60 cm girls. Tinies scare me too much! What if I lose her/him? I bet those are a nightmare to string as well. :/

    7. I have a MSD girl and a tiny 16cm. But I think I will buy more bigger one :">
So my house in the future can have big doll to tiny doll. Yay XD

    8. I love the SDs and the ease of finding clothes and wigs for them. I also have a few MSDs and love the size. That being said, I just got my first tiny (a Luts Honey Delf) and I absolutely love him! He's so light, poses like a dream, and is super adorable.

And that did nothing to really answer the question. I think all sizes have their pros and cons!

    9. i prefer the bigger they can be made :D

    10. Honestly, I've had both bigger and smaller dolls, and they are both about equally easy to care for. The main thing that I have seen in my experience with SDs, both mine and those of others, is that they require more space when being displayed and they might be a little more cumbersome to travel with. Finding clothes for smaller dolls might also be a little easier...from what I can tell, finding clothes for my SD sized SID Eric is going to be a challenge because his measurements are a little weird.

    11. I used to thinkthe 40cm range was a good size, when I first got into the hobby. I think it was definitely a good place to start. But I've since found myself gravitating more towards the 60 to 65cm sized dolls. I guess I just like the size and weight of them. That, and finding clothes and accessories for them is pretty easy. Anything larger is just too much for me though.

    12. I think (for me) depends on the sculpt, i have no problem with size but so far i like bjds over 40cm D:

    13. I currently have at least one of every size category from tiny to SD. While I love all of my dolls, I have to say that YoSD is my favorite size by far. Maybe because that is the size that started me in the hobby? I love toting around my dolls and their size and weight is just perfect to me. Tinies don't seem like enough doll and MSD's and larger seem like too much doll haha.

    14. big dolls for realistic photos and tiny dolls for cute mini and garden shots :)

    15. I currently have a YOSD girl and a small SD girl. Currently I like the YOSD girl way more but that might be because I'm still bonding. I love taking pictures of my dolls and it seems harder to capture my SD girl. There's a tiny (Pukifee size) on the wishlist so I'm guessing I'm a sucker for the cute and small ones.

    16. Both are amazing options! I own anything from Sd to my tiny 1.7 miss and trust me that's the smallest I've ever owned. :) It shouldn't matter what size they are, all that should matter is what you do with them and how much you love them. <3

    17. I'm more drawn to smaller dolls, mainly 1/6 though I do have smaller too, I guess it has something to do with the childish look they have, I absolutely adore small dolls, plus they're easier to find space for and transport around, though that being said I do own a 1/3 female and am planning on getting a 1/3 male, but my heart is still mainly with small ones.
