1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD Cafes in Korea, did you know they existed?

Apr 3, 2015

1. the blue fairy cafe sounds very interesting!

i was there in seoul back in may!
i wish i knew it earlier :(

2. I believe there's a freedom teller shop near where ninestyle is (although I think it's not a cafe). And ninestyle cafe is actually rather packed the one time I went on a weekday. The tables were all full with owners and their dolls, and since I didn't bring my doll, I was just shopping for clothes at their clothes section. I do think they may sell some of the dolls on display because they have price tags on them.

I wrote a post when I visited ninestyle cafe, for anyone who's interested :) I took some photos along the way, and wrote abit more about what I found inside, haha. >click<

3. This is soo cool, want to visit Korea one day :D

4. the atmosphere looks really lovely! It's too bad about the bluefairy cafe, though.

5. cian I enjoyed your post about nine9style cafe! Very informative. Should I ever find myself in Korea, I know what to expect (a really odd walkup, lol). The 5% discount-for-cash policy is a REALLY good thing to know, especially if you're making a high-dollar purchase, and it's cool that you got a free gift at the end! It's too bad all the tables were taken up, although it's nice to hear that they're getting good business.

P.S. Your girl looks gorgeous! That wig is perfect :D

6. Thank you! I'm glad it was informative! It was a pity there wasn't a free table, but I really enjoyed my time there nonetheless :) I actually really like visiting the cafe and buying their stuff, because the atmosphere there was nice and friendly from the staff. :>

7. Actually they renamed their cafe and remodel it

8. I'm actually learning Korean (cause I need to watch my dramas UNsubbed LOL) and am totally planning on going in a couple years - so this is one MORE place I have to visit while there LOL

9. I think it's amazing how hobbies like bjd are so much more popular and maybe more common/accepted in Asian countries that they would have shops and cafes like these. I would love to visit one if I ever come across one although I do wish (pop-up) cafes would be more popular in the US though I do understand that the demographic in the states are a lot lower than in Asia :/

10. I didn't know they existed until I came across a video on youtube where a lady filmed inside one while she was staying in S.Korea. I think they are cool. I wish they had them in my country. I lurve the idea of being surrounded by beautiful dolls while having a drink and a snack hee hee. Plus it would be an opportunity to purchase some "bits and bobs" for my dolls at the same time.

11. Oh yes! I would love to go to something like that! Hell, I'd love anything Doll related near me. I'd love to actually have friends that I could hang out with and discuss about dolls.

12. Yeah, Bluefairy's now known as Cafe Zephyros.

I knew about the cafés because I had a really nice BJD friend who suggested them to me, and we went together when I was there last year! Seriously amazing :D

What's equally awesome is they regularly have this dollfest in Seoul every few months and you definitely shouldn't miss it if it's on - usually they give great discounts for Korean companies (eg Dollmore, Mako eyes etc).

13. WHY DO WE NOT HAVE THIS IN AMERICA?!?!?!?! Wait, I suppose some peoples would try to steal the precious babies. Oh well... :|

14. That looks so cute! I'd defiantly go it one if there was one in my area.

15. All our dolls meetings are held at cafes. A doll themed cafe would be simply perfect :)

16. Very cool! It is like going to a dollmeet with a built-in sales booth. I'd go.

17. I would love to go to a bjd cafe! sounds fun!

18. OMG I heard!!!! How cool is that!! I know Korea has a Bluefairy Cafe and I would love to go to that one because I love Bluefairy bjds!!!! Wouldn't it be nice to go to Korea? hahaha

19. Omg, I was there and I didn't know! I'm crying. It's so beautiful inside, why I only found them now

20. *Flails!* Oh I would go to a BJD café in a heartbeat! How cool!!
These need to exist all over the world! Or else I need to plan a trip to Korea pronto!
