1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD Cafes in Korea, did you know they existed?

Apr 3, 2015

    1. Hey I live in Korea! Both cafes are a lot of fun! Blue fairy has a very kind staff and they will even restring dolls for free! Nine styles is very open and full of dolls sometimes you need to call ahead to get a table on the weekends!

    2. I really wanted to go!!!
Hope there will have BJD cafe in my country!

    3. If one day I travel to Korea, I want to go see, but, I don't know, maybe I don't think it's fun to me, I went to a dolk station store and a volks and a azone store here in Japan, and I think the most fun was the azone, because they have a lot of different types of dolls that you can effort!
Sorry but I am poor and it's boring go for places were I can not buy a thing:pout:

    4. I'm very interested to hear that they get enough custom to stay open and trade. And even have two cafes of this nature! I hope they stay open long enough for me to come and visit when my friend is living in Seoul next year!

(Not to derail, but I find myself wondering if we could have something similar in the UK - I know there's a big general OOAK doll making scene in the UK and that could be tapped into to supplement the BJD scene if needed.... and we're not a very big country so enthusiasts wouldn't need to travel far...)

    5. Wow!
That's so cool! I was thinking about visiting Korea next month~ I really want to check one of these places out! But.. it might be hard to bring a doll with me on a plane.. Planes arent really known for being gentle on luggage..

    6. I would love to have a place like that near me.

    7. I would love to go to a BJD café!

    8. This makes me happy even if I'll never get to visit. ^_^

    9. I would love to visit one! My daughter got to visit the Nine9 Style cafe when she was in Korea and brought me some clothes back. I wish there were some in the US!

    10. Totally going to Korea in the next 4 years - and hopefully will be able to go to a doll cafe while there :D

    11. Wow that would be neat. I would definitely go it there was one close to home.

    12. yea i know they existed i wish i can go to korea to go there

    13. I know of cat cafes, but not of bjd ones.

    14. I don't think very many people even own BJDs where I live... but if it was popular and one was in my city, I would go all the time!xD ...if the sold clothing and accessories... my wallet would be empty all the time though....

    15. That sounds like too much fun!!

    16. I did not know! That is so cool, another reason to travel to korea :)

    17. Oh man if only I could start one of those in Georgia and have it actually be successful. Maybe in Atlanta or another really big city with dense population it would work. But I would have to make it center around all dolls and not just BJDs to make a go of it and have enough customer base for it to be profitable.

    18. Hey friends! It seems I've been gone for quite some time. Moving house and some injury-related health issues sorta took over my life, and dolls got pushed to the back burner for a while :(. Just wanted to add, if anyone who has visited any of these cafes decided to take photos there, I would love love LOOOVVVVE to see them!
Kinda off topic, but I'm tentatively getting back into the hobby post-hiatus since I'm finally settling into my new house. For one reason or another, I decided to take a stab at sculpting my own BJD. I'll probably be finishing off the project... in about a century, lol:XD:
But I digress... it'd be amazing to see some photos, or even maybe a video if anyone has any from their visit to the BJD cafes! Really hoping to one day have the opportunity to visit one myself, or better yet, one opens up in decent proximity to my current location. That would be a dream come true! :D

    20. Wow! I had no idea lol. When I go to S.K I'll bring one of them with me. <3
