1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD Convention Panel

May 31, 2011

    1. Last year at there was a BJD panel (was it at Comic Con?), where Bo Bergman came in to talk after the initial presentation. She talked about the whole process of casting a doll, and how there were expenses due to bad casts and loss that way, and gave money figures... I've been into BJDs for over ten years and I have to say she gave a lot of fascinating information that really made me appreciate how intricate and how troublesome the process is!

Stuff that happens more usually in panels is a powerpoint on the history of BJDs--just briefly.

Clochette usually has a naked tiny and she takes off the headcap for people to see and actually has it passed around the room (pretty big, full room, too!), so people can see and handle a doll!

There is a hand-out with a list of sources-- for BJD information, store sites, forums, etc.

It would be good to talk about where to buy and what pitfalls you need to be aware of.

Sometimes the panel mod will have scraped up donated prizes and have a drawing for them.

Opening for questions is always good and can take up a lot of time. If that drags, then a panelist will hop in with more information. And then open it up to more questions...

There is often time before the end to have the audience approach the table to look at the dolls (we usually all try to bring dolls to display), and ask questions of the owners, etc. Take pictures, etc. That's always a good thing because people can relax and talk to their friends and ask more specific questions without being so formal...
