1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Bjd dolls and the uncanny valley.

Jan 3, 2016

    1. Don't worry. I was just getting excited whenever someone mention Sherman. :P
As for interactive media (games included), all the recent hype of virtual reality (from Occulus Rift to Google Cardboard) could paint an ugly future. Well, at least that's according to a rather awesome short film - "Uncanny Valley"

    2. Most BJD's are stylized enough (or stylized in the right ways while keeping a more realistic aesthetic like Iplehouse) to sit nicely before or jump over the uncanny valley. In my experience, I've only seen one sculpt that really sits squarely in the valley, and that is from Shine-Doll:

It is absolutely due to the badly positioned, oversized acrylic eyes and the stiff smile. It's actually kind of upsetting.

    3. Omg! I have never heard of this company. I can see why the unnatural eyes and stiff smile would make you feel that way.
