Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     2. They key word here is "worth" - there's no doll in the world that's "worth" $5000 to me. I'm sure that there are avid (and rich) enthusiasts out there who might agree with a price-tag like that, but I can honestly say that I place my value elsewhere. I may be willing to drop $500 on a doll, because that's an investment I find worthy of the price-tag. But for $5000, I could get a different car. Car -vs.- doll? ...yeah. It's just not for me.

    3. Yeah, $5000 is far too much for an asian ball jointed doll... even if I had money to burn. The most I've ever spent was almost $800+ for PeakWood Cue and I still feel like a fanatic for paying so much though I love her dearly.

      That doll better be life size... like a "For Real Doll" to cost as much as used car or Vespa! And when you think about it...that is how much a "For Real Doll" can cost and the doll is human size and basically articulated/pose-able. Human sized dolls for that cost kinda make spending 5k on a 60 cm doll seem real foolish.

      I'm kidding. I know it's because this one is an Antique.

      I'm into BJDs since 2004 and I'm not surprised with the prices any more. If someone thinks $5k is worth it, then it is. People do what they want with their money. And in fact I think I'm pretty happy when any art and artists works go high prices. Some would pay that price for one night in a luxury hotel. If I had extra $5k I'd buy my dream doll without hesitation.

    5. As I collect only tinies I don't see one QUITE that high.

      Sei-teneshi fetch over a thousand and some Latis are close to the thousand dollar mark. It makes me die lol...the Four Sisters from Volks are pretty steep as well.

      some of the larger and more lifelike ones can be over 5000
      (Such as Naruto Doll, Hizuki Doll, Koitsukihime etc)
      (mostly 60cm - 90 cm)

    7. yes i was at the latest Enchanted Doll exhibition and there saw dolls between $6500 - $39000.
      it was amazing seeing them in person and honestly, if i had the money i would gladly pay that price.
      i have an ED but i was lucky to get her around the basic price. i hope to save up for a costumed one one day!

      to me "it's just money" and if i am living good, have food and all that i need, then i'm ok with spending the rest.

    10. I have seen a life size BJD of Yuki Nagato before. I guess it was probably about that much, maybe more.

    11. I've seen a fullset Soom Beryl selling on ebay for $2500. That's the highest I've seen. Not sure if they got that much for it, but I wouldn't doubt it, since Soom MDs aren't available anymore after their designated month.

    12. I think the most I'd pay for a doll is $2000... and even that would make me cry... Maybe if I were a millionaire and it was one that I MUST have, but no way would I ever pay $5000 for one now.... But I don't hold anything against people who do. They probably make more money than me, and if they love a doll, it's all up to them :) I'm just jealous I can't!

    14. i saw one at yahoo!japan auctions..Dollfie Dream Saber Alter for 500000 yen (or $6128)..I actually thought this is only a prank..I mean, who would in their right minds would buy this, even if it's rare.( unless you're the child of fortunes and would spend such money on dollfies)..well, DD Saber Alter is RARE, but the price isn't just right..it's too much..that ad on Y!JA was already removed (or someone already bought that DD), I'm not sure..

    15. That sounds about right. Because of licensing, Volks can only produce limited runs with the permission of the copyright holders of the characters. Since their numbers are limited and their crazy popularity, DDs can and often go for a very high price on YJA. From what I've seen of the DD community, many are willing to pay the high prices to obtain these dolls.

    16. I wouldn't rule out spending that much on a doll, I haven't done, but I have quite a few dolls that I have paid $1500-$3000 for and do not regret it. At the end of the day, it is up to us as the collector to pay what we deem a price we are prepared to pay.

      I think some are being overquoted, I have a Rozen Maiden and didn't pay anywhere near $5000 for her, and they're not impossible to get hold of.

      I would probably do anything to get my hands on the Black Ducan and would be prepared to pay a helluva lot of money because he to me is the epitome of beautiful BJD. I don't suppose it'll ever happen though heh ;)

    17. Saber Lily Dollfie Dreams are going for well over 2.5k nearing 4k. Most to all LE DD's seem to go for 2 to 4 times their original value, which is crazy, but I might be crazy enough to spend over $1,000 on a Yui or Nia or Marisa doll because those three are worth it to me XP

      Spending over $1k seems like a lot for a doll, but if it's a doll you really want, it really does seem worth it

    19. Any of the Saber DD's go for close to that much normally, they were a grande when they were released. Actually the idea that any bjd goes up that high does not suprise me the least bit considering there are collector barbie's going for over 2k.

      Though a note about that ebay store someone posted on the first page, sound more like the prices were in HK dollars. I looked at their price for one of their DDs and converted it from HK dollars to US dollars and the result was fairly close to what that doll normally goes for elsewhere.
