Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Bjd's and vampires, the similarities

Aug 24, 2015

    1. I've noticed lately ever since having a bjd that they bear a strong resemblance to little vampires. :o

They like to sleep in boxes in the dark.

They can't stay in sunlight or it does terrible things to their skin.

The like to suck our (Blood) money.

They demand little servants to cater to their every whim.

They end up taking over your life *_*

Anyone else find similarities between your dollies and strange creatures of the night ;)

    2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that! When I was doing some research into the care and maintenance of bjds, I was like, hey, they're like little vampires!
Kind of silly, but I guess another similarity would be that you wouldn't want your bjd brushing up against some garlic...? XD

    3. They don't eat, they don't age, they are eternally pale and young and beautiful. They want only the finest things (your) money can buy. A lot of them tend to dress Goth. LOL!

    4. I was actually joking about this very thing with my mother just the other day? xD; Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels like I've been overran by tiny vampire overlords...

    5. I'm glad so many other people agree xD I was beginning to think I was going crazy haha

    6. Haha! Great points!

    7. I never thought of that!!! :XD:

    8. lmao this is an awesome analogy lol :thumbup

I refer to (and have seen others too) who have a 'dolly crypt' lol for me is where I keep the coffins boxes lol.

    9. They also don't like posing for pictures :XD:

    10. The eternal youth and beauty is the biggest similarity, IMO!

    11. I frequently call my horde "wallet vampires" because aside from the dolls themselves (which can suck your wallet dry in one easy step), there's all the other stuff like eyes, wigs, clothes, shoes, etc. that will drain whatever pennies the main doll purchase didn't slurp up.

Once they get their fangs into you, they also tend to create more. Like... Well, he's all alone. He really needs a friend/lover. Just so photos will be mor interesting, of course. Oh hey, that sculpt would make an awesome brother to him. I'll need to put him on the to-buy list as well as the sculpt who's going to be his lover. While I'm looking, that sculpt would make a great friend for his brother. And that one would be perfect as his ex that he had the wild fling with that resulted in a love child he adores (whom I also need to buy) and...

If only their powers of replicating also extend to the cash outlay to get them *sigh*.

    12. lol. This makes me smile because I actually have quite a few dolly plans for vampire characters... Three of the ones I have at home right now are actually Vampires XD

    13. My friend Tip jokes that it turns you into a vampire and then you "turn" others. XD

    14. Lol...they never "age" as in grow older.

    15. I'm always trying to 'turn ordinary humans' into bjd owners ... so... "Guilty as charged! lol

    16. Very astute! I purchased my Bobobie Weylin after seeing one in person -- and in turn he inspired two other people to buy them.

    17. !! hahaha true that! xD

    18. not so much about vampires but still within the Gothic so... I thought I'd share :D
well, I have a doll named Vicky. He's a hybrid of a female head on a male body. Guess what my MA supervisor said when she saw him? xD
Obviously that he's so much like the Frankenstein'd Creature (though named like Frankenstein himself)

And talking of the vamps... Well, if we consider the fact that my boy is effeminate and in that way that it verges on not being too straight either, then I could compare him to Rice's vamps.

Anyway, I'm not into vamps, but the similarities and analogies are so striking that I couldn't help imagining it too, so it's good that I'm not alone feeling/thinking this way about bjds xD

    19. It's Interesting, because i was thinking of the same thing, like they can't go out in the sun or anything like that.
They are kinda immortal to in that there are some bjd sculpts out there that have been around for a long time. (they do yellow though)
They can be goth or vampires . I have heard that there are some bjd heads based off of the Interview with a vampire. So i know there
are vampire bjds and people see the similarities. I wonder if you can still get a D.I.M Lestat head correct me if I'm wrong, but i think D.I.M came out with the interview with a vampire inspired heads.( I think there is one for Louis and Claudia ) I don't know what they look like though...:daisy:) I guess the difference is that they don't suck your blood..... but they can suck some of your money XD.:aheartbea

    20. So apt and well spotted, my feeling entirely. Yet, some of them look so "innocent".
