BJDs based off of Fairy tales/Folkore/Any story?

Nov 17, 2008

    1. I'm sure that as an author he's allowed to do that, but there's just something special about an ending in which the villain protagonist... just gets bored. No big change of heart. He just kind of drifts on. It's a bit of a mind screw.

    2. kateb :) thats cool! im glad someone knew the reference! im a massive fan as i live where it was filmed. ive been in touch with the maker jonathan boakes recently and ill be sure to mail him some pictures of grindle, i think he would appreciate it :)

    3. I think Fables Goldilocks would be awesome. A Fables Rose Red is made for BJDs.

    4. Hee hee, both of them would be good. X3 I think Bigby would be an interesting challenge, making the usually young and fresh looking BJDs look older and grizzled, and possibly with a semi-wolf form also. I just like Boy Blue too much not to include him. X3

    5. Well... the book I'm writing in which Nicco is the main cahracter is called "A Fairy Tale... Sorta"

      :lol:

    6. AH! I knew there was one! He's so cute... *wibbles* Too bad I'm broke, I'd snatch him up in an instant.

      I'd love any of them! I think, to do Mogget, I'd probably just do an anthro cat with a fancy ring around his neck. Or just a plushie with the ring.

      The Disreputable Dog? Oh, yeah. If I were to do Lirael, I'd want to mod her the GoldenHand.

    7. Actually, the two girls I have planned are going to be a version of Snow White and Rose Red from the fairytale. This RR will look a bit different than I used to imagine her as a child, though. I always imagined her as a tomboyish brunette with freckles. Mine is going to be a red-head with fair skin--long story.

    8. I'm planning to one day make a doll based off Long Lankin. :)

    9. Hmm... it's not exactly the most romantic of stories or even a fairy tale, but I absolutely love the Norse myth of Ragnarok. In particular, my favorite characters would be the great wolf Fenrir and his two sons Hati and Skoll.

      And yes, I have contemplated getting dolls based off those three characters, but before I work on them, I wanted to get Dieter and Siegfried first. Now I have both, the next doll I'm getting will likely be based on Hati (my favorite of the three wolves) and he'll likely be a Soom Sabik... unless another doll is released that catches my eye.

    10. Mine are all characters of story ideas in my head. Eventually, it will be put down into writen form, but for now they are seen through photos and photostories. They are pretty much grouped into three groups, but they interact with each other.

    11. I really really really want a troll doll.
      I don't care how it looks over all. As long as it stands for what it means to me.

      ;w;
      Waahh poor troll.
      <3

      TES Oblivion + "Billy Goats Gruff"
      I wont quote the 'Poorly Scrawled Note' Here as it is very sad. ;-;

    12. I am not coming to your house.

      Edit: :) I should have noted why.

      Said the lord unto his lady as he rode over the moss
      "Beware of Long Lankin that lives amongst the gorse;
      Beware the moss, beware the moor, beware of Long Lankin
      Make sure the doors are bolted well
      Lest Lankin should creep in."
      Said the lord unto his lady as he rode away,
      "Beware of Long Lankin that lives amongst the hay;
      Beware the moss, beware the moor, beware of Long Lankin
      Make sure the doors are bolted well
      Lest Lankin should creep in."
      "Where's the master of the house?" says Long Lankin.
      "He's 'way to London," says the nurse to him.
      "Where's the lady of the house?" says Long Lankin.
      "She's up in her chamber," says the nurse to him.
      "Where's the baby of the house?" says Long Lankin.
      "He's asleep in the cradle," says the nurse to him.
      "We will pinch him, we will prick him,
      we will stab him with a pin,
      And the nurse shall hold the basin
      for the blood all to run in."
      So they pinched him and they pricked him,
      then they stabbed him with a pin,
      And the false nurse held the basin
      for the blood all to run in.
      "Lady, come down the stairs," says Long Lankin.
      "How can I see in the dark?" she says unto him.
      "You have silver mantles," says Long Lankin.
      "Lady, come down the stairs by the light of them."
      Down the stairs the lady came, thinking no harm
      Lankin he stood ready to catch her in his arms.
      There was blood all in the kitchen
      There was blood all in the hall
      There was blood all in the parlour
      Where my lady she did fall
      Now Long Lankin shall be hanged
      from the gallows oh so high,
      And the false nurse shall be burned
      in the fire close by.
      Said the lord unto his lady as he rode over the moss
      "Beware of Long Lankin that lives amongst the gorse;
      Beware the moss, beware the moor, beware of Long Lankin
      Make sure the doors are bolted well
      Lest Lankin should creep in."

    13. My future dolls are based on a novel I am about to write, and they all carry some elements from some of my favorite musicians.

    14. I would love to have a King Jareth bjd (from Labyrith of course). OOOOOoooooohhhhh! I'm drooling at the thought!:D

    15. You aren't the only one!
      :: swoons ::
      Victor has some issues with Jareth's realm as well, but I haven't figured out quite why. Might tie into the fact that he's sickly, though.

    16. I'd love to have all the characters from the manga, Ludwig Kakumei (not sure if I spelled it right :sweat) as dolls,
      since the author based all the characters (except the main character and his servant) from Grimm tales and the Little Red Riding Hood is a hit man (hit woman?)! That is so cool! :o
      Also, characters from One Piece (I know it's not a fairy tale, but I can still dream for them as dolls, right?) the most awesomest manga/anime I've ever read. :D

    17. I know someone who modelled one of her dolls like him, this doll! This Dollshe Hound is from ThinkPink!, and looks very impressive in person.

      I am seriously considering creating a fairy tale around my Vesuvia.

    18. I love this concept, but serious folky that I am, brandy is made from grapes. The song is about barley and rye turning into beer and whisky.
      Have you heard the Tim Van Eykens version on the song? Live he sings it almost like a murder ballad, very creepy!

    19. Hahaha, having been a homebrew apprentice for seven years, I know...but ya can't deny that the line reads "Little Sir John and the nut brown bowl, and he's brandy in the glass." ;) Beer doesn't enter the equation in the lyrics.

      And I haven't heard that version. I'll have to check it out.

    20. Mmm, Jareth dollfie! Pretty. Even has the eyeshadow right.

      RANDOMLY. Two of my current characters (who would be way too creepy to get as dolls, as they're both major villains) seem to be turning out as male versions of Snow White and Rose Red. Poor guys. They'd make cool dolls, though-- Alexandre is this hedonistic ice prince and the other one (as of yet unnamed) has lovely scarred-up hands I'm already half planning how to mod.
      EDIT: And Victor's current weird vague backstory thing seems to have something to do with Tam Lin. But... I can't speak of it yet.
