Congrats on your little Yoko Opal I do love the old style Yoko face. I had a little Yoko for a while with the new faceup and she seemed so grumpy whereas the old Yoko is really sweet and happy looking. I feel like I want to add a regular pocket fairy back to the family but am not sure who. Isi looks cute in her new dress.
Yes Honeythorpe I really think you need a regular pocket fairy in your life! and no, I'm not an enabler ;-) Poordittum I love the style of the dress and the fabric is very striking too. I am falling in love with the sugar bodies. Dangerous really! My girl is now 'on shipping' so I am very excited. I must say that Bluefairy are super fast at getting their products out if this is anything to go by. Certainly makes me want to return!
My Didi has arrived! I am super excited to have a BJD back in my life after so long. She is so much prettier than I could possibly have imagined. I am super impressed with Blue Fairy, their service was second to none. And quick~! I have named my little one Sakura which is apparently Japanese for Cherry Blossom. I really want to buy a dark brown wig for her from Blue Fairy but they charge $28 shipping for just one wig :-( I do want some other items so I guess I'll just have to save some money!
Congrats on your Didi Princess Starburst. She looks like she's enjoying the sunshine. Yes the Bluefairy service is amazing. I might have put my pocket fairy plans back a bit by buying a big BF girl I have had my eye on. She should be home tomorrow just a week after I ordeted her.
So thanks to all of you enablers here I gave in and ordered a cute little Minimay who arrived today. It took me by surprise how big they are though, because for some reasons I remembered them to be much smaller. The sculpt of the body is lovely and I especially like that tan skin tone, it's such a beautiful color. I think I'll need to get him a darker wig eventually.
Congrats on your baked minimay Sharkyra. I have one too - she was my grail doll and I love her to bits. Clodagh's big sister is waiting at the post office for me to pick her up....it's going to be a long long work day till I can get her home and unbox her!
Nancy - BlueFairy only releases their 'baked' (tan) and white skin as part of an event. Baked skin pocket fairies have never been available from their site - they were sold as limited editions at Dollism in Hong Kong and Japan. Though people have been able to get them after asking BlueFairy or going through Catherine Parks who is an agent for their limited edition dolls. They are really pricey compared to the regular pocket fairies as they are only offered in full sets but the BlueFairy tan is utterly gorgeous - my favourite of all the companies I own (close followed by Luts rs brown)
PrincessStarburst: Congratulations on your new pocketfairy girl! She is lovely. I totally agree about Bluefairy's service and wait times. Makes you want to order all your dolls from them doesn't it? Almost as easy and immediately gratifying as walking into a shop and taking something with you when you leave Sharkyra: Congrats on your new boy too! He is wonderful. I love little baked Minimay also, and feel very lucky that I can visit Honeythorpes girl often. You photo is such cuteness too! Honeythorpe: Yay! She's here!! Just feign a migraine and slip down the post office I took my girls out and had a wee play and dressup session with them this morning. They wanted to say hi to all the new arrivals Mia and Niamh by *alexisbears*, on Flickr
Thank you honeythorpe and alexisbears ^__^. The May sculpt (and the Minimay) have always been my favorite BF sculpts. So I had no choice but to get one in baked skin as soon as I saw one available. However, is it only me, but I have the feeling that he looks really girlish face-up wise. I think the differences between the girl/boy face-ups aren't that big with blue fairy dolls anyway, but I can't help it, yesterday I tried a girls wig on him (because it was the only alternative one I had available in this small size here at home) and I found him more convincing as a she. Strange, strange. I'll try it with some other boyish wigs first, but if it doesn't work out I'll have to get a baked sugar girl with a head mold that looks more like boy to me, so that they can just swap bodies.
Sakura's new wig arrived today and it is perfect! I can't believe that I spent so much money on EMS shipping just for one wig but I didn't want to risk buying from anyone else in case it didn't fit. And I am super excited that I have finally managed to sew a little dress that fits pocket fairy well. It isn't brilliant but at least it keeps me from spending too much money on Etsy! Sharkyra: I think the minimay sculpt does look very pretty as a girl, but when I looked at your photo, I definately saw a boy. He's a pretty boy... but definately a boy. I think all the Bluefairy sculpts are so adptable. PrincessStarburst: No, I did not make the outfits my girls are wearing... Honeythorpe made the beautiful little dress Mia is wearing, and Niamhs outfits is a combo. Sweatshirt is a secretdoll Person sized top from Nettle, and the pants are actually Lati Yellow sized, from Clear Lan. Mias boots are the Motorcycle Boots from Qmagic on etsy, and Niamh is wearing Only Hearts Club doll shoes. I keep meaning to make my girls some clothes, but have been too busy with other dolls I have lots of ideas for them, so maybe one day I'll get there. Your little Sakura is so pretty. Well done with her dress! It looks great. I have to admit that spending more time in here has got me obsessing over the idea of adding a little pocketfairy to my group... I have the sculpt and wig planned out already, - HELP! :O Lol!
