It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. BlueFairy Mini (Tiny fairy) discussion Part 1

Jun 18, 2005

    1. I'd buy a 2nd head to customize, I know if I changed it I'd worry about regretting it later on, plus with dolls like this people get pretty picky about original condition. I remember a girl who bought a Volks Chi, and how sad she was it missed the little bobbins from it hair, and the trouble she was going to to get the original bobbins (and not reproductions)

    2. Maybe if you got him his outfit you would bond better? I think part of the problem (since I have the same doll and had some of the same issues) is that he sort of comes with this pre-formed character rather than having one that came from you and your heart. You may love Ed a lot, but he's not your character so you don't feel the same "my child" bond as you might with a doll whose character came from you. Part of what you can do is try making things for him like a "default" outfit. I would give it a little more time since you JUST got him last month... some bonds take a little more time than others. Once the initial excitment dies down you may feel like you're not bonded, but it's just that some of the initial excitement isn't there anymore. Try going to a meet-up or two and see if getting that initial excitement level back up doesn't make you feel more connected.

If all else fails, I think a new face-up wouldn't be a problem... but before you go for the dark-gothy look, I think just a less plain look might actually help more than you think. I know on my Ed (default face-up) there's no shading around the eyes or blushing or anything... so his face-up seems a bit flat even though it's nicely detailed. I've been thinking of just adding to his default to see if that helps me. Since we live in the same area we could meet and talk about it, because I really do understand the difficulty with bonding with this doll. ^^

    3. I have seen pics of the AM Jerome faceup and I`m personally not fond of it - I think that there could be something more.. Ed-like done. Go for redoing it is my vote.

    4. If it were me I'd redo the face on principle as I don't really care for the original face up - I'd keep it natural looking though. IN your case however, as you want very goth heavy makeup, I'd purchase a new head and then just blush it to match the body. If for some reason down the road - for whatever reason, be it financial or otherwise - you WERE to resell him, then that intact original face up would probably fetch you more money.

    5. Yeah, that's really how I've been feeling about it. A good word choice: it seems *flat.* I was considering trying some lashes and see if that seems to fill the eyes out more.

    6. Well Edward Elric is famous for his eyelashes so that might work! But I like the idea of getting a second head so you can keep the original original.

*Is a HUGE fan of FMA* :aheartbea

    7. I'm sure that I'm not the only one here who *squee-d* at BlueFairy's announcement of their new Premium dolls yesterday.

I'm in the process of trying to decide what BlueFairy doll I want for my first bjd (right now I'm thinking Special Sarang, a female Tommy, or Premium Sweet Day May). Does anyone here have comparison shots between BF 'new' regular skin and the white skin of their limited edition dolls?

Any tips/pointers/opinions re: BlueFairy bjds (or recommendations/comparisons of similar dolls even) would be greatly appreciated! :D

    8. I almost died when I saw the new boy, Louis :aheartbea

Here is my Blue Fairy family, I love Tiny Fairies so I own a lot of them

From left to right: BW Walking with Olive, Misty Rose skin May, Niky, old Sarang, Jerome and Kyle.

I have all the 4 types of skin, from the old regular one (it was yellower than the new one), to misty rose (similar to DOD resin) and beauty white.

      I hope this helps!

I would go for the Premium Sweet Day May, she looks really beautiful ^_^

    9. Wow - your dolls are BEAUTIFUL!!! *is in awe~!*

Thank you for your recommendation... after seeing your Walking With Olive and how lovely she is, I think it will be VERY hard for me to pass up Premium Sweet May. I'd be kicking myself forever.

It's so great to see the different skin tones all together too - nice to compare and also to see that they look great even when they don't all 'match'.

      <3 <3 <3 them! It's encouraging to find other BF fans ;)

    10. Are the new Sweet dolls white or misty rose skin? They look paler then the regular skin...

    11. I'm not sure if they new premium dolls are white skin or misty rose skin, just definitely a lighter shade. I just did a photoshoot with my normal skin tiny fairy and my white skin tiny fairy. (I have a walking with november Olive as well.) He's dressed up like an angel because I was playing around.

I loooove Bluefairy's white resin. It's a soft pinky white and not yellowy. I was so happy when I saw my boy, it was just the color I wanted! Like Cassandra, I have a misty rose skin May as well, and there's more comparison shots between the three skin colors on my blog, but I hesitate to post them because they are naked. (Gee, Cassandra, we seem to have a lot of the same dolls! :D )

    12. I'm glad you like my Blue Fairy family ^_^

You can see individual shots of them here.

I also believe the new premium dolls will be beauty white or misty rose skin. We'll have to wait until next week to find out more.

That's right! We're both Blue Fairy lovers! ^_^

    13. Oh yeah, just as a side note the misty rose skin can vary in shade from batch to batch. Which Clover and I found out. It's not a horribly huge variation though. Just some turn out a shade darker than others.

.....still waiting for a whiteskin Olive girl....

    14. *Sigh*
I'm absolutely in love with Louis......... he is absolutely gorgeous......... so far, no boy bjd has made me felt that way....... Absolutely my dream guy.....

    15. Louis is a cutie isn't he? I'm glad he's going to be a regular release because I don't want any more white skin dolls for the time being. Good luck getting him. ;)

    16. I am thinking of getting a old skin blue fairy body for my mini Anna head. Selling my MSD volks body she is on.

The volks necks seem a bit too big for her head and the body overall seems a bit large. I hear most of the old skin matches to the volks resin well which seems to be the best resin match for her.

Question: so my question is are the boy Tiny Fairy necks the same width and length as the girls? and are they slimmer than volks are they longer too?

    17. Well they have the options that you can get any head to either boy or girl body so I think they are the same size. I think BF is really ones of the slimmiest MSD's , Angelregion is the same size since their body sculpt is the same (as far as I know). I think they are quite slim from their necks too.

    18. The BF Louis is going to be a regular release? o_o I really like him, too. I only ordered my BF Niky a week ago and I'm already wanting another one. Niky will be my first doll altogether. *squee* I can't wait!

    19. On the LUTS doll site, there is the Blue Fairy doll category. These dolls are really beautiful and I was wondering if anyone here owned one.

I now see how more cheap they are than Luts' kid delf... but I want to see other BF dolls before I decide one getting one.

      why am I being so indecisive? ;_____;

    20. Lots of people have them they are quite popular here is a search I did for you only in the gallery area:
