1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BlueFairy Mini (Tiny fairy) discussion Part 1

Jun 18, 2005

    1. Fereshteh - I know you said your BF poses well. Which version (old or new) and which body do you have?

Can she sit up straight dangling her legs over the edge of a counter? Do her arms stay in positions other than 90 degrees and straight, and are her legs or arms ever kicky? Can she stand by herself for a photo?

Note - Even my Narae doesn't want to pose her arms exactly where I want and prefers 90 degress or straight, and she does not sit up straight on a counter (she leans back) - I have to push her torso piece forward and hunch her a bit. But she poses gracefully otherwise.

    2. Take the plunge! You decide which doll really speaks to you and get it! Questions are good but ultimately every doll has some minor drawbac. But most these days are well made with few problems!

    3. Fereshteh - I know you said your BF poses well. Which version (old or new) and which body do you have?

--> New, I received her at the beginning of june.

Can she sit up straight dangling her legs over the edge of a counter?

--> Yes, here is a (old and bad) picture where she sits in that position, but on a chair. I had an opportunity to compare her sitting abilities to that of a Soulkid, and compared to the Soulkid, she sits much straighter.

Do her arms stay in positions other than 90 degrees and straight

--> Here are 2 examples of other arms positions (please excuse the light).

, and are her legs or arms ever kicky?

--> They have been for the first week maybe, but now she's behaving herself like an angel...

Can she stand by herself for a photo?

--> Yes, she does that very easily. She has good balance, even on an uneven surface like a park bench.

You have a Narae? Congratulations! They are beautiful.

    4. Fereshteh- your little one is beautiful! I love her hands...
I love the pics of her with the sunlight & shadows :aheartbea

      thanks for sharing!

    5. Oh thank you latedate_kate! :blush

The 3 pictures in the school girl uniform have been taken today. The ones in the garden are older and have been taken a few days after I got her.

Her nails have been French manucured... by me! After about one month of having her, I finally had the courage to take her head off to touch up the Bluefairy makeup. It was beautiful, very delicate, but I felt some features (cheek blush, eyebrows) were too pale, so I emphatized them and put her eyelashes. You can't see them much, because I used lower doll eyelashes (I feel it looks more natural like that).

You can see her new makeup thread here. :)

    6. Fereshteh- Thanks a bundle for the photos (not to mention the awesome advice), and NO, I did not mean to ignore you. ^^;;...

I think that starting this thread has made up my mind- my first BJD WILL in fact be a BlueFairy. Sincerest gratitude to the posters!

    7. She's adorable. Is she blossom body or the less mature body?

I love her in those clothes.

      Carolyn

    8. "Overzealous" would be me (due to being foolish and young), not you. You're just colorful in your written dialect. :) Congratulations on deciding on your first doll! Yaaaay.

    9. Yay!!! Another Bluefairy in the family! Please do PM me with her pictures when you get him/her! Can I dare ask to which model are you attracted most? :D

She's a Tiny Fairy Xiao, with a girl body (less mature body). Her breasts are small, like a 13-14 year-old. I posted a link to her makeup touch ups earlier in this thread.

    10. I really want a BlueFairy too!
And those pictures are gorgeous, Fereshteh!
*Waiting in anticipation to collect all the money for Tommy*

    11. Model? ... Now THAT's an entirely different, even HARDER descision. Curse my innately picky nature! I do like the Xiao model- but the May is nothing short of adorable, and the Tommys and Nikys ...

      Now I am just being harebrained... -___-;;

.... and apparently in need of some more persuasion. Perhaps some more oogling at posts?

    12. You should check other Bluefairy TF owners' threads to see if any call to you more. I was hesitating between Emilie and Xiao, but I kept going back to Xiao. Emilie was beautiful, but she did not call me like Xiao did. I kept thinking about her.

You can first think about the sex of doll you want. Will you prefer sewing/shopping for male or female clothes? Are you looking for a SD size, or MSD size?

If you're hesitating between almost all BF TF models, maybe you haven't found THE ONE for you. When you do find it, you'll just KNOW.

I'm pretty sure there is one bjd you can't stop thinking about. I personnaly think that chosing your bjd comes more from the heart than the brains. We say in French "Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connait point", which could translate to "The heart has its reasons that the reason ignores".

    13. I can understand not being able to choose between Blue Fairy molds, I am planning on buying a Blue Fairy girl soon and I had the hardest time deciding on who (between Olive and May, I adore them both!)... I think that, though they do look different, they are all very similar stylistically- as in, if you like one Tiny Fairy you're probably going to like them all. XD

I think I'd like to have both girls actually, but we'll see how I go with my first. ; )

    14. I know there is an Olive on ebay right now if you want to see her. :)

    15. I guess the it all comes down to the height of the challenge- the choosing of models (and the pressing of that intimidating, belittleing 'Add to Cart' button, but that comes afterwards). The only model that really 'jumped out' at me was the May- the others were just plain pretty. Now just one more hesitant thought haunts me... is getting such a sweet-looking doll okay for starters? ... eh, listen to me. Now I've decided. MAY FOR ME!

      Thank you for putting up with me! ^^;;

    16. You know what? I LOVE MAY ;) Go get one before she sells out!

I think she was sold out at minoruworld last time I checked, but was still available at bluefairy.

    17. May is one of their standard dolls, Minoruworld is out of stock but that's only until their next shipment of Bluefairy dolls I imgaine (since they only sell dolls they have physically in stock it seems). : )

The only dolls that are made in limited quantities are the "limited" and "premium" dolls... unless they decide to discontinue a mold (and I doubt they would discontinue May as she seems to be their most popular doll, based on how many versions of her there are).

    18. Yes, but maybe a "New May" is coming? They changed the mold of Xiao, Louis, Denis...

But like you I think that may will not be discountinued. Even if Bluefairy lately announced the discontinuation of Yoko, one of the most popular Pocket fairies.

    19. They've just (pretty) recently released the Sweet Day Mays including a new half-sleepy Valentine version (And Minoruworld had an order period for the Valentine May without the limited outfit etc) so I think if they were changing her mold they probably would have done so at the same time as releasing the valentine version... I really do hope they don't discontinue May!

As for Yoko, they've said she'll be available as option parts in a few month so at least she's not going to be totally gone!

    20. Hi all,
My dolls foot is 5.4cm by 2.4cm she is a immature body.
I have a tinyfairy May Valentine and need some shoes for her. The boots she came with just won't do. I have been looking at Luts Kid shoes and wondered if they might fit well. ... or possibly Minifee. I like the shoes to fit really well even without socks.
      Any suggestions would help.
      Thanks for your time.
      Melissa
