1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BlueFairy Mini (Tiny fairy) discussion Part 1

Jun 18, 2005

    1. lol... I feel the same way. :sweat But the resin and face-ups will be the same (unless you order parts). Your best bet might be to stalk Y!J for previous LE releases in Misty Rose or White skin--they pop up fairly often. They're both much more realistic colors than the current basic skin, imo.

    2. I'm still wondering about this. Has ANYBODY actually ordered a blue fairy through LUTS, and if so, what's the resin like???

    3. As far as I'm aware, all standard BF dolls that are sold through other sites like Luts and Minoruworld are manufactured and face-upped by BF before being sent to the other retailers (unless you order parts with no faceup but as far as I'm aware those are still manufactured by BF anyway). If you don't like the normal skin, Minoruworld does often have their own limited versions of BF dolls in white skin- they have white skin Olive and Jerome up now, and the BF international site has the premium (i.e. much more expensive) Louis and valentine May up in white skin right now, I think they're releasing some more walking with November white skin dolls soon but I forget who. And there's also auctions and such...

    4. I know of 3 different sites where bluefairy bjds can be bought, minoruworld, luts and bluefairyint (if there are any others I would like to know).
What I was wondering was what is the shipping price for all of these places (i think minoruworld is $32) for the other sites I looked around and couldn't find a shipping price (for a doll). If anyone could tell me how much the shipping is and how long it would take for the doll to be shipped it would help alot.
      :aheartbea

    5. I have seen people say that Minoruworld is a faster shipper than Bluefairy for the Pocket Fairies, so maybe the same is true for the Tiny Fairies. I've seen people complain lately about excessively long shipping from Luts on Delf dolls - that may not apply if they have the Bluefairy you want in stock, but if they don't, then I think they have to order it from Bluefairy before they ship it to you.

So my guess is that Minoruworld is most likely to be fastest as long as they have the doll you want in stock.

      Carolyn

    6. I'm just gonna guess and think your in the US :< -
So Shipping from Bluefairy would be $56.00 - To figure out the prices, add what you want into your cart select, EMS and what zone you are in.
I've ordered from BF multiple times and they have been pretty quick and wonderful to deal with.[about 3 weeks it took to complete the order and ship -the shipping takes about 2 days] Minoruworld is said to be pretty quick too. Also as Carolyn said Luts lately seems to be excessively slow about shipping.
For Luts - add the doll to your cart and fill everything out to see how much the shipping total will be [fill out the order form and go to payment info and stop there]

    7. I don't think you are going to beat the $32 price from Minoruworld if that is correct - that's very reasonable for a mini shipping price. Leekeworld charged me $23 shipping just for 2 pairs of shoes!

      Carolyn

    8. The $32 price for shipping on Minoruworld is for Pocket Fairy sized dolls, for a Tiny Fairy you pay additional shipping (I think my shipping was about $45 total, and I live in Australia). Anything that is in stock at Minoruworld can be shipped almost immediately once you've paid- I think my doll was in my hands a week after ordering! Ordering directly from Blue Fairy takes longer as they have to make the doll, paint the faceup, etc. I think Luts doesn't keep Blue Fairy in stock and instead orders them from Blue Fairy when they are ordered by a customer, because their site says it takes 30-40 days to ship.

If Minoruworld has the doll you want in stock, I think they're the best bet- the shipping isn't too expensive and they ship much much faster.

    9. thank you so much for the information. I'm going to buy a May and I didn't know of where do it. Thanks a lot!

    10. Thank you everyone, so it would seem that minoruworld is the best place to buy from. Does anyone know how much shipping is for a tinyfairy to the u.s. is?
(also sorry this is off topic but what size wigs do the tinyfairys wear)

    11. :'D Minoruworld for a tiny to the US should be $32.00.
TFs wear 7-8 inch wigs -

    12. Just thought I'd note again- it's not $32 for a Tiny Fairy, that's for a Pocket Fairy (their tiny- not sure if that's what you were saying?). I just looked up my order and I can confirm that I paid $45 shipping- they add on a secondary shipping fee after you place your order. I live in Australia but the PF shipping price to the US and Australia is the same so I can only assume it's the same for a TF. : )

The pages for TF dolls do say "When you order TinyFairy, there will be additional shipping charge depend on country or weight.
If there's additional postage to your order, I'll let you notice by e-mail so you can pay only for additional charge." and from what I recall I got the additional shipping charge the next day. At any rate it didn't take very long for them to send the additional charge- I got my doll in about a week.

    13. Shipping for a Tinyfairy to the US NY is $60 and $70 for two dolls, thats what I paid.

    14. ....? so shipping is only an extra $10 if you order another doll?

    15. Yeah, I've been checking out this really pretty head at Bluefairy, the Nick head, but I don't want the body. So I wonder if I have to buy a body at Bluefairy or does it match with any other body? Maybe a cheaper one? ^^'' Cause I want a girl-body with breast kind of like the one at the Blossom body at Bluefairy.

I've been looking around for some place that sells cheap body's but I can't seem to find any good place... DO you know?

Oh, and I have another question.. ^^'' It's 50 dollar cheaper to buy a no face-up head than one with face up... But is it cheaper to send it to someone who makes personal face-up? Or is it to risky to send it to some stranger? *_*

My gawd, my english makes me confused... *_* Hope you're not... Well sorry if these question have their answers somewhere else but I suck at using the search tool and I'm kind of stressed. I'm leaving for London tomorrow morning and have a lot to do right now. Will be home at sunday night... And if I posted this thread in the wrong forum, sorry, please just move the thread.

*hugs and kisses to the people*

    16. Well, this is only stuff that I picked up while lurking on the forums, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Bluefairy resin is supposed to be really hard to match, as in the skin colors would look mismatched. If you don't care about that, it helps, but I couldn't tell you how bluefairy heads fit on other company bodies.

Cheap bodies can be, but aren't necessarily, good bodies. I would look more into how the body can pose and how it would look instead of how much it costs. There are a lot of "cheaper" companies with good sculpts, but then we get back to the fit and match problem.

As for face-up, the price for sending the head away will probably be more expensive if you have it done by a well known artist. If you send it to a beginning artist, or an artist that just has low rates you might save. I would look at specific face-up artists works in the "Commisionable Artist Portfolio Gallery," before making a decision. If you really want to save money, and are confidant in your own painting skills, you could always do your own!

My advice? Think about this alot more. I was lurking here and watching companies for two years before I bought my doll, and he is exactly what I want him to be. If you're really set on a Niky head and a mature body, why not save up some more for the blossom body? That way you know it'll fit, and the colors will match.

Anyway, that was just my opinion. I'm not an expert, so take it or leave it as you will. Hope I helped, instead of confusing you more.

    17. If Nicky is a female head, just buy her with the Blossom body. You can buy any of the Bluefairy girls with either body - it just costs a bit more - see the dropdown near the price. If it's a boy head, ask them if you can get Niky head on a girl Blossom body (or make sure the necks are matching sizes and buy the head and body separately).

That is probably your best bet because Bluefairy resin color is very hard to match.

      Carolyn

    18. I' say buy the Niky head and the blossom body (if you order a head and body they will even assemble the doll for you for an extra $20, which is worth it if you're nervous about stringing). BF's natural skintone doesn't match with anything else so far as I know. I think their WS might, but they only make limited edition dolls in white skin, actually right now they have a girl Niky on a blossom body in white skin for sale (http://bluefairyint.com/shop/step1.php?number=334) though of course it's a bit more expensive since it's a limited doll with a special outfit. All of their heads should fit all of their bodies, though if it's specifically Niky on Blossom body you want it obviously does since they're offering that combo for sale. But you can choose any head with eeither boy or girl makeup and they show each head on a boy and girl body so I don't think there should be any problems if you stick with BF bodies.

As for the faceup... do you like the BF faceups? It will probably cost you more than $50 to get a faceup done, once you include shipping- since you have to ship the head to the artist and get it shipped back again. I'd suggest looking around at the faceup artist threads on the marketplace to see if there's an artist you like more than BF's who also has spots open before you decide (a lot of popular faceup artists get booked up quickly and there may be a long wait for a space in their schedule). Most faceups seem to go between $20 and $50 (plus shipping). There are often people offering free or very cheap faceups, either because they want to practice more and don't feel right charging a lot of money yet, they need to build up a good portfolio before they open up a "real" comission thread, or in some cases they just feel generous. But the free or cheap faceups may not be as nice as Blue Fairy's professional job. It really depends on what you want- I know the BF faceups are pretty pale and natural and they aren't everyone's thing, but other people love their style.

    19. The current normal Bluefairy resin is quite pink - you can see in this comparison of their smaller Pocket Fairy dolls:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104839

I really don't know of any matches for BH's current normal resin.

And re faceups - with the manufacturer you have a good idea of how the faceup will look. With other faceup artists you are unlikely to find a photo of a doll like yours with a faceup they did. But if you want a faceup that's different from what the manufacturer did, then get the doll blank. There are a lot of faceup artists in the Marketplace with a wide variety of prices - some of the inexpensive ones are good and some are not, and some seem to only paint certain styles or are used to painting larger heads. Some very good ones are in other countries where it would be expensive to send a head and get it shipped back, and you might have to cover any customs charges they get hit with. And many have long waiting lists or have already closed for the holidays and won't reopen until next year. So if you decide to buy the doll black maybe look through the faceup artists first and if you find one you like ask them if they will have a slot available for your head a few weeks after you plan to order.

    20. Wow, lot of answers ^^ Thank you guys, I've been busy lately so I haven't had time to check out what's been happening at DoA.. :3

Well, again: thank you for your answers. It made me start to think. I think the best thing is to buy the Niky head with face-up and the blossom body. And even though I love the "walking with Niky" it's too expensive, and when I have the money it will probably be to late... ^^''
