1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BlueFairy Shiny Fairy/(MW) Junior body discussion part 1

Mar 22, 2010

    1. I've been debating on having Chou's eyes modded open. What do you guys think? Part of me is hesitant because she's a limited doll (misty rose skin), but I really don't like the simplicity of Sleeping Leila's eyes... I also need to figure out a face-up artist and I want a really cute/fun face-up for her. I've thought about her getting a cockatiel-inspired face-up with yellow accents on her face and orangy-pink blushing on her cheeks...

I really need to figure out a face up artist to send this girl to... Any suggestions? by zaely♫mallow♫♩, on Flickr

EDIT: I've decided to get my SP Leila's eyes modded open. :) She's going to have eyes shaped like Ellie's.

    2. Some updated information on shoes for these! I was ordering some shoes from Deb's Adorables via Leeza~Kat and took a risk at ordering these:

      http://debsadorables.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=10

And when they arrived Leeza~Kat let me know they were a great fit! I'm really pleased as I love flat shoes and have a load for my Minifees. I don't have my Minoruworld body just yet (it's on layaway with a dealer) so I can't show them on my girl when they arrive to me since it'll be awhile yet before I get the body.

They are 13" Dianna Effner size so any of the others in that size should be a good fit also if you prefer something a little different! :)

My BF Junior Sleeping Leila has gone through some changes. I'm still in a rut about having her eyes modded open or not, but that's a bit off-topic in regards to her current changes. My Leila is now the imaginary friend to my VOLKS YoSD Ayumu and she is now called Midori. :)

    4. I hope this is okay to ask here!

I'm hoping to get a Shiny Fairy Leila this month, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their average wait times between ordering and getting the shipping notice? I'm not impatient by any means, but I was hoping to order it soon and have it arrive in time for my birthday in February. I know there's a wide range on how long it takes for a doll to ship so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask!

You all have really cute dolls by the way :D

Spindlewood: I really like your Midori! Especially with the hat :D

      Thanks so much! :D

    5. I can't speak for Shinyfairies specifically but all my orders from bluefairy have shipped withing 20 days. Most of them have shipped the next week. They are such a fast company!! However my dolls have all been Tinyfairies so I don't know if they ship them out faster or anything. Congratulations!!

Spindlewood that's so sweet!! I considered giving Evelyn an imaginary friend as an excuse to buy a doll from a different company (that way it wouldn't matter if they didn't match my Bluefairies). She looks so gentle, I love her with the closed eyes but I'm sure she'll be adorable no matter what you choose!

    6. I think about SF.
but I cannot decide their body.... Jr or Sf.

      Spindlewood: So sweet Leila!!

    7. CaffeinatedCake, thank you! She stole it from Domino. :sweat Last_bus_home, thanks! I really do love her closed eyes. I've decided, for now, to just keep her as she is. Eye modding is a big step. I wasn't so scared when I had my Rheia SP head, but my Leila somehow seems more precious. I thought about getting her eyes modded open in the shape of SF Ellie.

LueRu, thank you! :D In regards to your dilemma, I think a SF might be the better choice in the long run. JR-sized clothes aren't very popular. SFs easier to find clothes and shoes for, unlike JRs, who are an awkward (but adorable) in-between size. MSD-sized clothes are too big and YoSD-sized clothes are "too small" (they fit, but not the way they would on a 26cm doll). There are clothes out there for them on Etsy and Atelier Momoni (just search "chibi unoa"), but the items are limited. JRs should also be able to fit Betsy McCall clothes. Chibi Unoas can wear them, and they're of a similar size as JRs, but I haven't personally tried any Betsy McCall clothes on her yet.

    8. Last_bus_home: Wow that's fast *-* Even if it doesn't necessarily apply to Shiny Fairies, it certainly gives me a better picture of their production speed! Thanks for the info :D

    9. Spindlewood: Thank you so much!! And thank you for your information!! I think about Andy and sleeping Leila. Promotion photos of Andy girl.... looks so cute. I think Leila on Jr body is cuter than SF body. Outfits.... I didnt think about this...^^;;

    10. I do think JRs are adorable. I love my JR Sleeping Leila! :D But the most challenging thing has been finding clothes. :( An Andy girl would be adorable! Such an adorable, grumpy face. :) Andy doesn't seem to get a lot of love and neither does Sleeping Leila, really. I'm sure whichever doll you choose will be absolutely adorable! :D

    11. Thank you so much!
Do you think about Andy SF girl or Andy Jr.Blossom?

    12. Oh, that's a tough question... A SF Andy girl could make for a cute little girl, but I really do like Junior Blossom body (and would love to see more despite the difficulty of finding clothes for them). The aesthetics of the JR Blossom body is beautiful and I love the Junior hands! :D They're so elegant! And very different from the Tiny Fairy default hands. They're not child-like like the Tiny Fairy hands are. JR hands have elongated fingers, which just adds to the appeal of the JR body. Sorry for the ramble. :sweat In the long run, I'm curious to see more SFs on JR bodies. I think a JR Andy girl could be seriously cute. :)

    13. Answering the Junior shiny's spam (not the blossom type)
Here's my Yara (May v3) on a Junior body :)
I'm a big big fan of the size, and the slenderness of the body, that's why i have Junior twins xD
Their hands are indeed so beautifull. I don't have a small Shiny, so I can't compare the two irl.
But I think the Junior would defenitely be my favorite.
Finding clothes might be difficult, but I make my own, so I don't care

    14. spindlewood : Thank you! Hands?? oh I didnt check it.... I will check again.

      sobabeentjes :
Thank you---, thank you for your Jr spam. I think this size is cute.

    15. Sodabeentjes, do you hand sew the clothes??

And I agree, I love the Junior size, even though clothing can be a bit difficult to find. They *do* fit in YO-SD clothes, but remember that pants and sleeves will be short!! Shoes will be the most difficult to find, but Blue Fairy has some really nice, neutral options for shoes, and they are very lovely quality, too.

    16. Peppermintsheep I use my sewing machine for the easy seems, and I hand sew the difficult seams or the small ones that need to look perfect.
In this size most of it is done with the sewing machine.
Finding shoes for Juniors isn't that bad. I have a ton of shoes that do fit them. Mimiwoo and Releaserain have a lot of shoes that fit them, they will always show measurements in their auctions, so you can check ^^ The converse shoes Yara (and Maren below) is wearing are from Mimiwoo, and just regular yo-sd size. They are actually a bit too small, but if you'll push hard enough they will fit xD

And a picture of Maren (leila), because she thinks it's unfair of me to only post a picture of her twin ;)
She's also on the Junior body, not the blossom type

    17. Sodabeentjes : CUTE!!

If I order SF girl body, after she arrived,
if I order jr body, skin color is not match, maybe?

      And... head change is easy?

    18. LueRu, I think that the resin tones would match if you decided to order a JR body later (unless you get a limited SF). Changing the head would be relatively easy, I think. Their heads are small though, so maybe have a strong bit of yarn to help you pull the S hook up and re-angle it through the head. :)

    19. LueRu Thank you! :)
And about your question, if you buy them new from Bluefairy, there will be no colour colour difference I think. Unless you let your SF yellow really bad :P
The old Minoruworld dolls had a slightly different normal skin (but of course not anymore if you buy them new from Bluefairy)
But changing head isn't as easy as with other dolls, their S-hooks are too large to fit through the hole in their head.
I have this with both my older Minoruworld and with the new Bluefairy (made this year). You will have to lift the head (still attached) from the body, put something like a pencil in between to hold the elastic. Then take off the S hook inside the head, and when you want to place it back (or on another body) you will have to pull the string back through the hole, and then insert the S-hook again, if that makes sense! :) (so it's doable, but not super easy)

edit: Oh, and another note, the old Minoruworld sculpts don't have a magnetic headcap, but one with a ring on top where the s-hook is attached to, so it's harder to take off the head cap. I believe that they still have this even though they are now under Bluefairy (the molds haven't changed).
You can take off the s-hook from the cap, and put the cap on again by using some eye-putty, that will work as well :) But just so you know, when you try to take it off, and it won't go ;)

    20. Once I got the head caps off those S-hooks, I just put some eye putty on the side of the head cap, like Sodabeentjes said! When I change their heads, I just restring them entirely. ^^;;
