Thanks, SarahRachel, for the info regardling both the Minoru World and Luts wigs. I was wondering particularly about the Minoru World wigs but am now glad there weren't any of the Luts wigs that really suited what I was after...although it's a shame as they have such a great range in the HoneyDelf size, especially in the heat-resistant fibre range. I'll make sure to post up plenty of pics when my Luka has his new wig. I just changed over his eyes yesterday so will try to get some photos up the way he looks at the moment. LeChibi , so will this be your first BJD that you're planning / saving for at the moment... best of luck with your saving either way. I was in your position as of April last year so just a warning that this is one addictive hobby ...one doll (my original pukipuki pukisha) quickly became 3, then 6 (7, if you include I act as caretaker for my daughter's Pipos Dali) with number 7 currently on Layaway and what will be a custom floating head for some time in the works as well. If you have anything invested in this hobby, such as if your dolls become your photographic or artistic muse or otherwise an emotional or creative outlet in any way then it becomes seriously addictive
JenKat: I've got about 2/3 of the money I'll need to get Benji in savings....But art college is about to bankrupt me. I need to find a new job once I get to school. :P The funny thing is, BJDs creeped me out until fairly recently. A few friends of mine bought their own dolls, and that's how I started getting more warmed up to them. I started looking around and found BlueFairy's website. Benjamin was really the first one I liked enough to be willing to spend money getting. I want to get at least 2; Benji and a smaller one IE a Puki or Pocketfairy. I'm having trouble deciding which one to get first, though. Why don't I have a wallet with an infinite amount of money in it..?? *sigh* Right now, the cheapskate in me is trying to get access to the Marketplace so I can possibly adopt a pre-owned and save some money.... I still need about 20 more posts before that happens, and I need to wait about a week and a half before I get access. :P
LeChibi..I understand where you're coming from with Art College...even if my art college days were over a decade ago I was doing grad studies up until Easter this year so I still understannd the broke-student-syndrome side of things all tooo well. Can still only work part-time at the moment so that I can be at home with my 2 1/2 year old during the day but its so nice to have a steady income again. I originally discovered BJDs around the late 90's - used to design, make & sell miniature teddy bears during my uni / art college days so saw a few via the dolls & bears magazines I used to collect here & there but they just didn't impress me at the time / kinda creeped me out too. However, it was last year I rediscovered BJDs when I started my grad studies... just at the time they were the least affordable for me so my first was a tax-return purchase and my second 2 were a birthday gift... my next dolls weren't bought until I recieved my tax return this year. Believe me, we all have dreams of the magical wallet of infinite funds here at times as in life in general... especiially as it seems there are some people on this forum who do seem too be in possession of it. However, there are plenty of BJD people of average means who save, sell, scrimp, sew and do everything they can to earn their dolls the hard way, so you're in good company here on DOA
My Bon Voyage May has arrived!! I named her "Poem" She's such a cute little angel! Love her and adore her Bon Voyage outfit!
Ohohoh!!! Turbow! Voyage May is really CUTE! She must be more beautiful IRL!! Please post more pictures of her in the future! (I am now so tempted to add a SF May into my "will buy list" though I have decided not to add anymore into it forever!!!)
Aww~~ Paul and Andy are both too adorable!! Especially Paul!! I've always been partial to girl Denis (Dei?), but now that he is chibi-sized, I might have to get him as a boy too! XD Anyway, it's awesome to see more SFs from Blue Fairy! Now that the ratio of SF boys to girls is 3:2, I wonder if they will come up with a third girl sculpt and who would it be? ^^
I thought Andy looks like a mini Patrick XD It's so exciting seeing mini versions of the TFs Turbow> She's so pretty!
turbow, oo your Poem is soo cute little girl! ^^ Huge congratulations! WIshing for more pictures~ I think I like Paul (mini-Denis) more as a girl.. tough he is quite lovely as a boy too. ^^ I'm not a big fan of Andy (mini-Patrick) at the moment. I'm sure I'll someday have all the Shinies, Tinies and few Pocket. -_-'
Bluefairy said that these new dolls are much cuter IRL. When I get some in to the shop, we'll be sure to take some more photos of these 2 boys. I agree Xaya, Paul is most cute as a girl! I think if I like Andy when I see him, I might keep him around though. Kind of like his expression. We shall see! It'll be my first own SF if so (apart from Xyn has a May), which I do think of fondly. ^__^
I want to see their pictures,SarahRachel!! I wonder how much difference would Paul and mini Olive have.....Paul's mouth is not bending as much as Denis but is bending more than Olive *______* I really hope mini Olive will keep as much as Olive got
I am guessing there will be a mini Olive eventually. I mean, May and Olive are the two single most popular sculpts ever. Since they made May, they should make an Olive. But ooh. Paul is very cute. I almost wish he/she is a bit grumpier and like the actual Denis. Hm.. Not a big fan of Andy, probably because I wasn't a big fan of Patrick >.>
Jumping on board! I'm going to hang out, want to see some more pictures of this new mini-patrick/kyle (his eyes seem too closed to be patrick, but not curvy enought to be kyle....but the mouth is more frowny than kyle...) I just love how stumpy the BF promo pics make thier shiny fairy's look. *isweird*
