Ahh, I thought so! I’d always kind of ignored Kyle bc the eyes were just too narrow, but opened up just a little more... he’s beautiful! You’ve done a great job with that mod!

 

Hey guys, BF made two announcements:

1.) Final online baked skin event
It looks like all the basic sculpts are available for a final online baked skin event. Apparently, after this event, baked skin will only be available at in store events/special events.

2.) Management changes
-Denis and Emilie will be switched from standard to limited types to make room for two new sculpts
-No more online baked skin
-Changes to how some items are sold??? I guess they are switching more products to a monthly release schedule???
-Price increases to come in January 2020

I'm curious as to what prompted all of these changes. I hope Bluefairy is doing okay? This kind of makes me wonder if they are struggling and have to keep tightening ship to stay afloat.

Regardless, looks like this December preorder is your last chance for baked skin, Denis, and Emilie.

EDIT: BTW, for anyone torn between Denis and Emilie... I stalk the second hand TF market, and Denis is much harder to find. Emilie is one of the most commonly available second hand TFs.

 

Anybody have baked skin TF in comparison with other tan skin mini dolls?

 

I'm afraid BF resin color tends to be somewhat inconsistent from year to year, so I'm not sure how useful this would be unless someone has a very recent baked skin doll. You can see in this pic that my baked Robin is darker than my baked Olive, who is darker than my baked May V (Robin is also the newest, then Olive, then May V, who is a Remember May V, the first TF offered in baked skin). The original baked skin Remember May V is much cooler in tone overall than the later dolls. The dolls in that image are all either NS, WS, or BS, but they vary widely in color despite technically being only 3 resin types. For example, these two boys are both NS. Meanwhile, the two girls in this pic (left and center) are both white skin (Blossom Bud Jasmine and Walking with Tommy releases; the Tommy boy on the far right is NS)!

Wow... that is really very inconsistent! Thank you so much for posting all of that.

Now I’m just wondering how do people even tell what color it is when they get a second hand doll from the market when the skin color isn’t specified XD

 

Emilie is going limited now? She and Tommy were my first bjd dolls. Here's Lynette, my Emilie, still one of my favorite dolls.

 

disappointing to see them discontinung another sculpt at such short notice, and sad to see Baked skin as an option go away. It was imo always a little overpriced but I still kinda liked the thought that maybe one day I could justify it.

Emilie is one of their few HAPPY(ish) looking sculpts too!

I'm glad I got my boy when i did as a price increase as well as other big changes worries me.

Thought I'd ask here- has anyone used the Layaway Plan option when ordering from Bluefairy? I couldn't find more info on their website about it.

The body options are so confusing, the Beauty body doesn't have any photos on the website anymore but it's still an option, and the 'girl body' is an extra 10$ in the Baked skin event which I don't really get. Isn't it just the Neo body with a flat chest lol? The Blooming body looks interesting but is a little too busty for me.

Really sad about Baked skin going away as an option, I've always wanted a Baked Olive But I also don't love any of the newer bodies (forever missing the Classic body) anyway so I'm not too sad.

 

Messing around and I really love this guy. I'm thinking about naming him Piers.

 

I hope Blue Fairy is okay... the December Limiteds are open for ordering again, and the Pocket Fairy outfit they were advertising suddenly disappeared, and was replaced by a (very cute) different outfit!

Also, my last two orders both say “On Shipping”, but I’ve had them in hand for weeks/months already...

 

Whoa!!! I hate to double post, but there’s interesting things afoot on the Blue Fairy website!

Information about the Monthly 2020 schedule has these interesting bits:

• February, May, August, and November are adding sculpts to the lineup! Two new Tiny Fairies named Ein and Heemang! And Of D’s little sculpt “Garnet” is being rolled into the Shiny Fairy lineup. (I have Garnet on the Junior Fairy body, and she’s really cute! Her head is a 5-6 though, instead of a 6-7.)
• March, June, September, December will add two new Tiny Fairy sculpts, Helen and Grey; a new Shiny Fairy called Mirae, and holy smokes Blue Fairy Olive!!!

Cool stuff!!!!!!

 

Interested to see what the new sculpts will look like. Looks like they have plenty of plans for 2020 which is nice to see.

I bought an old Jerome off of Dollyteria and am probably going to do some switching around, turn my Louis into a girl, and see how I feel about Jerome as a taller boy if it all works out.

 

I only looked at the image of the 2020 schedule and completely missed the details of the new sculpts! I'm dying to see BF Olive.

 

Jerome is here, and I've decided she's gonna stay as a girl and make her the twin of my Kyle. This normal skin was also definitely from BF's time of making darker pink normal skin, she's definitely got more of a tan look than those that were made after her.

 

@Kim Your Jerome is propably from about time when I got mine (2005 and around that time), they were really dark pink back then and looks like a bit tan compared to some of my other dolls. I like that particular pink, it has aged nicely.

 

@xaya - it really did age into a really nice shade of normal skin! I'm looking forward to getting this girl painted

 

Horns are now on the Blue Fairy website! There’s demon horns, antlers, and a unicorn horn! Unfortunately, none of the pictures show how it attaches. I’d imagine it’s just a magnet held in place by the wig or silicone wig cap?

I hope they expand the size offerings to Shiny Fairy-sized horns, too!
