BNBDoll Discussion Thread

I got one this boys at Korean BJD show during the weekend. He is a DaeHan with the new body. I was told that the body is new, so that may be the reason why they don't have images of it on their website. I was also told that the is 65cm tall and uses clothes between SD13 and SD16. Since he is a my first SD, I am a little confused about what clothes will fit him. I measured his high and he's 62cm. Any advice on where can I find clothes (especially jeans) for him?

Maniah ​- the neck hole is 3.2 cm

 

I'm guessing that is diameter and not circumference? Lol. If so, then it's about an 11cm neck and the list I have should be useful. When I'm home and able to post from my desktop as opposed to my phone, I'll post the link if anyone wants. all the bodies on it are listed as comparing to volks pure skin, and are in a similar neck size range.

 

They were using SD17 bodies... I THINK that's a 12cm neck. I have the BNB body--but haven't un-boxed him yet. I'll also try and get you a measurement--hopefully tomorrow or the next day.

I put up a question on BNB's Q&A board, asking if they will sell bodies separately. I hope they will!

Usually they measure the actual neck circumference and assume the neck hole will fit that... (but it doesn't always, or at least not exactly, but it's close enough).

Clothes... I'm thinking that SOME regular 60cm clothes will fit, but the measurements seem a bit wider than the typical SD13 (which is sort of the basis for that size), so if something is super-fitted at chest/waist/hips, it might be too small. SD17 seems to be a safer bet for fit. Or clothes for 70cm dolls... but you might have to shorten the pants and sleeves a little (better than trying to lengthen them). And that's not a guaranteed fit. There are so many different shaped dolls these days that it's a little tricky to find things to fit some dolls. This body shouldn't be super-hard to fit, though. It's similar to many other dolls, but it's still kind of in-between the more standard sizes.

Once I get my guy out of the box (I've been a bit busy, so I haven't had time to play yet!)--I'll try some different sizes of clothes on him and try and get back to you. If you see something, maybe you can check in here and ask if you think it might work or not... I'll see if I have anything like it to check on mine.

I almost bought an IpChun last Christmas or so when he was released last, but didn't have the money at the time.
There's a blank IpChun head in the marketplace, but I really want him with their faceup.

 

Replied to this in part in the Be With You thread... but there's a big chance that there will not be another Korean BJD Show next year, since Ms Cholong, who did most of the organization, announced at the end that she is leaving to take a non-bjd job. (She was crying... and others were quite emotional during the Closing Banquet, about being sad it was over and having had a good time meeting with everyone--it was very touching!)

... but maybe a miracle will happen and someone will try and do another. It would have been great to see you! (Thinking of going to Dollism at all? --I'm going to try to go to that. That con probably will continue... there's also the BJDC in Austin, but it has more of a US bjd emphasis... not so many Abjd companies go there.)

BNB's Nornen was originally famous in Korea for her face-ups, before founding BNB, so it's totally understandable wanting a faceup on Ip Chun! I actually was gifted an Ip Chun with a Faceup for participating in her Faceup Workshop. (All the companies seriously gave a lot of amazing gifts! They were too generous for words, really!!!) And by the end of the con I had 2 gift heads from them, plus a couple of tiny free heads for faceup practice... and another head from the Workshop! It was crazy!

... I still need to do a Box Opening for my boy that I got...

And put together a picture review of the Faceup Workshop and post it...

 

I really hope that convention happens again somehow! I feel like I missed out on the only convention I would have thoroughly enjoyed!
I heard about it a little while ago, but I really didn't think about it. It was just another convention in an onslaught of conventions in the news room.
I vaguely remember thinking it was going to be in Korea because of the title, and mentally writing it off because there'd be no way I could afford just getting there!

Hopefully I can snag an IpChun next time around.

 

BNBDoll annouced on April 25th their new bodies, so it may be a bit before we actually see them available for purchase.

Since I have this body, I'll be posting a review on my dolly blog in the next couple of weeks with owner pictures. :3 I would recommend SD17/70cm clothes for him. I have SD13 clothes and none of it fits, not even the shoes. :'(

 

Staria--thanks for the report on what fits. Too bad the SD13 stuff doesn't work. In that case, some 70cm sizes might be a little too tight, also. SD17 dolls are a bit more wider than some 70cm (some 70cm are close to SD13, with just longer sleeves and legs). Iplehouse tends to have wider-sized dolls, so maybe some of their clothes could fit--but might actually be too wide (IH guys are very muscular compared to most all other dolls).

I'm probably not going to be dressing my guy in anything other than his one-off outfit for a good long while. But if I get a body for my head, he'll definitely need clothes!

 

I'm buying some SD17 clothing in hopes that I might be able to dress him a bit! :3 Will update when they arrive!

 

I have an update from BNB Doll regarding the Youth 16 Bodies!

Which I'm guessing it means that they will sell the bodies eventually, but not at this time. They didn't give me an estimate if they will be selling them in the future, or even later this year. For now, I guess we'll just have to have floating heads, buy another company body or just wait until they release them. The BNBDoll body is actually pretty nice! The resin is smooth and he poses and stands like a champ.

 

The posing seems excellent from those photos!

I guess it is a good thing that they are not ready to have the bodies right away (since I need to save up!). I was mostly hoping that my question would make them consider selling them separately, as some companies only sell the bodies with heads only... If the sell them separately, I'll definitely get one! They really do look wonderful!

Someone posted--over in the PeaksWoods thread? That maybe Nornen might be doing some faceups for PeaksWoods. But that might just be a rumor!

 

I really hope they sell the bodies separately, otherwise I am out of luck -- unless they show up in the second hand market. (

When you get a chance, you should fiddle with your White Tiger! I can only imagine how much of a pain it might be to get him out of that outfit. xD;

AND OMG, that would be a crazy awesome rumor, haha. :P

 

YES, A BODY!! Now I won't have to worry about finding a body when I buy my boy in January!

 

This is the first time I've heard of this company and I've fallen in love with their DaeHan sculpt!

I really hope they put their body for sale soon. I really want to buy him with that body to avoid the headache of finding a body that I find attractive, with good poseability and resin match, that's not Volks .___. ;;;

 

Daehan is amazing! I have him coming home soon.

I'm hoping the bodies will go on sale later this year, since I'm on the same boat as you. I also don't like Volks bodies and theirs are so well designed.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm beginning to regret not getting Nornans faceup more and more he's really gorgeous ^^
