Bobobie and Resinsoul Discussion - Part 11!!

Wow, I just realized that Cen has a different body than the usual 61cm body. I didn't know. O.O
I haven't been on their website for such a long time. The body looks awesome. I think I'll put it on my "I Need This"-List, hehe. ^^

I love the look of the torso on that body. I suppose it could just be the angle, but it looks like the shoulders could be a smidge wider too. Love the less ball-like look to the wrist, smoother join at the hip and the more graceful transition from arm to chestpiece. Wow! I don't currently have need for such a petite male body, but if I did, I would find myself very tempted. My first doll was from Resinsoul and I still have such a soft spot for them. Wish they had a photo of the back, too... whoever gets one needs to share pics!

Oh, that's the body I mentioned them showing me a while back when I asked them about sanding the muscle down on the 61cm body. I didn't want to post the picture they sent to me for obvious reasons.

 

So, I got my Resinsoul today and I'm really happy! It's beautiful, as is the case it came in. I didn't expect to get it, since I only bought the body.

I was wondering...um, does anyone have an explanation on how to attach the hands? I see that there are these S hooks in the hand joints, but they're so tight that attaching them to the hand bits seems difficult. Do I need to purchase separate hooks? I keep getting nervous I'm gonna break something when I try to use tweezers to pull it out further...

 

I did mine by looping a bit of strong, thickish ribbon through the hook. Then I put the body of the doll under a knee to hold it down, gently pulled until the arm was as far extended as it would move with the body held down, then pulled some more straight out from the opening of the arm. When I got the s hook pulled out enough to slide the hand on, I stopped pulling, held it steady with one hand (I wrapped it slightly around my hand for more leverage), then used my other hand to slide the doll hand onto the hook. I then slowly relaxed the elastic tension until the hand was back into the socket. Don’t let it snap back. After that, I simply pulled out the string and did the other side.

 

Ah, thank you! That's a really good strategy. I was able to get them in with some finagling, and thankfully he's totally okay still.

 

You’re welcome. I’m glad to hear it went well. I’ve been using either that method or a really similar one (only holding the arm) for almost two years and haven’t had any breakage or issues from them. It will get easier in time as the elastic stretches.

 

Hi guys I'm looking to buy my first resi soul doll - resinsoul dawn. Can you tell me if their dolls pose well? Are they a good quality?

 

I’ve got a centaur Dawn still on her original stringing. She has a good range of motion but she’s very kicky. I just ordered some elastic and wire to hopefully fix the problem. Her back leg joint is kind of fixed- not the hip but the next one down. You can move it but not very much. She’s not unmanageable but a realistic pose takes a bit of work. Her quality is excellent. She has had no issues with chipping, despite having some pretty intricate detail. My only issue is the posing and I think I should be able to fix it with thicker elastic.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen Resinsoul put on a sale. (Just a promotional price for their new 1/4 girl, to clarify.) I just have so much love for this company and it seems a shame I don't even own any of their dolls at the moment.

 

Anybody have owner pics of Ling or Ke (68cm girl)? I'd love to see more of them in different styles/looks.
