Bobobie and Resinsoul Discussion - Part 11!!

@Cap'n Wow, he's beautiful in jet black. Is your Cen on the new 61cm body shown on Resinsoul's site? If so what's it like joint wise?
I might have just ordered the last in stock Cen at DDE. >.>

 

That black is just gorgeous and the Cen sculpt is very pretty. A friend has a black resin head that needs a body and if she sees how beautiful this boy is that'll probably seal the deal for her on eventually getting him a body from RS.

 

I asked Sun if it’s possible to mod the neck size and also change the height for their Cen body but he told me it’s not possible. I’m not sure if he’s doing about the other bodies as I only asked about Cen

 

I'd asked about doing a thicker neck mod on the Mu body back in late 2019/early 2020 and they said they could do it and it would be $60 for that mod at that time. Covid happened before I could send them the colour sample (I need the body colour matched, too) so I haven't ordered this body yet.

Other now/never doll purchases have also constantly jumped the queue on this body delaying my ordering it *sigh*. I would also need to email Sun again about this since it's been almost 2 years since my initial inquiry about this mod and it would be unfair to hold them to a quote that is that old.

 

@Iron_Dog i hope that they can still do the mod for you. I only asked about doing mods on Cen so maybe they can still do modifications on the older body.
I’m a little sad since I had planned this around a new head I had bought but it’s okay I’m just going to have to save for much longer for the body it’s suppose to go on

 

I hope so too. The head that I would be buying the body for is a BiDoll CS. It's supposed to be a close match to Dollshe fresh but since I don't have that colour in-house I can't say if it is or not. I need a body that is between 60/62cm, hooved and slender. RS Mu hits all of that and they'll colour match. I know the standard Mu neck is too narrow for the head as I've tested on the same size neck of a different body I own. He needs at least a 10cm neck (10.5cm would be better (but not critical) as the head hole is pretty big) and the Mu is 9cm.

RS tempts me strongly in general. A friend visited me recently and brought her MSD centaur girl and she's so very pretty (and affordable). Seeing the black resin Cen and thinking of getting a boy centaur in that colour.... RS is dangerous the the wallet is all I'm saying.

 

Does anyone have any comparison shots of Yun and Rui? They look very similar to me, but I know they are different sizes. Also, how do these girls stand? I know my Xun has a bit of a problem with it, but I am wondering if the 1/3 bodies are more stable, or about the same?

 

Yes I second this, would very much like to see 58 cm girl posed next to 68 cm girl for comparison!

Also, wondering if anyone has put a Long Head on the 72 cm body (Yi/Heng body), if it works without sanding… seems like it might, but then again Long Head might be a bit small…

 

I actually asked for a photo of Long on the Yi body a few years back and received this reference directly from RS:

Depending on your perspective/tastes, it might be workable. I personally think he looks decently proportionate on the body.

Yes it does help, thanks so much! I actually did see that pic in the thread previously, it helped cement that I wanted BOTH boys… I already loved Long’s friendly-looking face, and Yi’s more muscular body, so seeing that they might be swappable really sealed it for me!

My only problem now is trying to do Resinsoul’s custom resin color service… the first Pantone swatch picture I sent in, Sun told me wouldn’t work because it needed to end in ‘U’ or ‘C’. No problem, I found a similar shade that did, but was told they didn’t have that one… so I’ve replied with a bunch of shades, hoping one of them will be one they can use. I feel very dumb and hope I’m not frustrating Sun too much with something that seems like it should be super easy

 

Glad it was useful. It's been a very long while since I asked RS for custom color services, but maybe ask what their closest available colors are to the selections you've sent and see if they can provide you with samples of those (digitally, of course)? it might be worth a shot at least.

 

Yes, I was getting confused because I thought anything was fine as long as it ended in "C" or "U", so I guess I was looking at the wrong types of Pantone swatches.

I did find a "Pantone Solid Coated Colour" .pdf book online showing those type of swatches, so hopefully it's sorted now, and I can order my beautiful boys Long and Yi in the right shade of blue-grey that I need for them. Luckily Sun has been so patient with me thus far!

 

Can anyone tell me how Rui (68 cm) poses? And if she can bend her arms and legs more than 90 degrees? I have been googling her nonstop but I just haven't found much about her.

 

I have seen some youtube videos with Chun and Ke, which are also 68 cm girls and have the same body as Rui. Around the halfway point of both videos, you can see their joints and range of motion shown. Hopefully it will be somewhat helpful with what you were asking

Thank you so much!!!! I had been looking for ke also for that reason, but apparently I had been spelling her name "kei" for some reason lol so she wasn't turning up. And I didn't even know about Chun. Thank you so much this will help me make my final decision so much easier!!

 

Here is the picture Sun gave me when I asked about how 60 cm Mi looks next to Long. I had wondered how the comparison would look, but actually seeing it is great. Despite the height difference, their proportions are still quite similar. To me, they look good together. Hope this is helpful to anyone else wanting to see 60 cm girl next to 70 cm boy

 

Wow! I was wondering how those two bodies compared. Thank you! I'm going to have to check out the neck sizes later... I'm wondering if the Yi body would be okay for any of my floating heads. (The Long bodies chest doesn't look right to me)

About 5-6 years ago I bought 1/3 male body from second hands as very old version of Resinsoul, but today I heard that Resinsoul has never released bodies with such joins. I'm in doubts, because the person, from whom I get this body wasn't it's first owner
