Would anyone happen to know what type of pants Resinsoul 70 cm boys can wear? I've ordered Yi and Long but they won't be here for some time yet, and I want to have some clothes ready for them. Looking on BJD Bhiner and other places, many boy pants come in "SD17" or "Uncle" sizes, which I believe are for the taller boys, but because Resinsoul bodies do seem to be quite slender, I wonder if the pants would be too big? Should I go with SD size instead? If anyone has one of these dolls and could tell me what size they buy from a store, I'd be super grateful!

EDIT : Here's a size chart on Alice's Collection that's helpful with most of the general measurements, except for leg length, but I could always un-hem pants if needed. According to this, Long should wear SD pants, and Yi would wear 70cm pants.

 

I can't speak for Yi, but I do have one on the Long body. I've found that SD17 size and pants designed for Popodoll 68cm bodies tend to fit fairly well, or maybe slightly loose while fitting well enough. As for SD...it's going to depend on which scale they're aimed at. If it's more for the 60-65cm scale, they'll be short in the legs (unless capris are your goal). Also, you might be able to get away with SD16 girl pants working decently. Can't be 100% on that though. Anything for slim SD17 or 70cm would probably work as well.

Very silly question, but does anyone by chance know if the Resinsoul MSD Cat Ears would look comically small on an SD? Thinking of getting Mi and making her a cat girl, after a character from Final Fantasy XIV

 

They look kind of big on the MSD heads, so they might look ok on Mi. Also, yey FFXIV dolls related! \o/

 

Hey what kind of elastic should i use for my big old 72cm body? The elastic they gave me feels too small and it isnt holding tension super well even after i tightened it. Should i maybe touble up the elastic or just search for thicker stuff?

 

Oof I wish I knew. My Heng is kind of loose as well.

Has anyone asked about buying Bobobie sculpts through Resin Soul? I want to re-buy Apollo, but I'd like him on the new Cen body. I never really like the 60cm body Apollo came on, but my guy is too old and yellowed to get a new body. So I thought I might just buy him again and sell the old one.

 

Unfortunately, they do not. I once asked if I could buy a Sprite to put on a Mei body because I didn't get a response from Denny, but was told they do not. DDE is really your best bet.

So I recently bought a pair of jointed Resinsoul hands from DDE for my old (like 2010) Bobobie body. Both the hands and the body are supposed to be NS, but the hands are much paler. Has the resin color changed that drastically, or is it possible I accidentally got a mislabeled WS pair? They're much lighter than any of the NS dolls I have across a couple brands, as well as a semi-white skin Dollfie Dream.

 

The resin color has definitely changed over the years, it seems a lot of companies started out with NS color resins similar to old Volks NS (which almost looks like a wheat kinda color, to me) and have gotten paler and pinker over the couple decades the hobby has been going. Plus, with a body from around 2010 and knowing that RS/BBB resin can yellow somewhat faster than some other companies, it's possible your body is yellowed or at the very least mellowed since it was made.

RS white is paper/snow white from what I remember seeing around, so if there's any pink color to the resin, it's not WS.

Sorry they don't match, though, that stinks!
