Bobobie/Resinsoul Pixiu and Pi Fantasy Dragon Discussion part 2

Yay! Super happy for you guys! That's what I use for my boy. (Eyes- I make my wigs)

 

Mollym~ I'd probably go with 12 but I'm into them looking childlike, 10's should work ok if you get low domes. In fact don't ever buy high domes for RS XD They just aren't made for high domes. Wigs should be 5-6, I know pixiu's head is a little on the chubby side of 5, leaning towards the 6 end, make sure you get a wig with stretch, it's always safer with a stretchy wig. The thread is really friendly so if you (or he) needs some help feel free to ask ^_^

On a side note, my youngest is sure he wants a pi and a pixiu... like now... in red and pink. I told him he's gotta buy his own like his brother did... but I think he forgot unlike his brother... >.> If it turns out he hasn't... My hubs is going to be SO irritated XD

 

I bought a white skin pixiu from the MP recently and Ive been working on him a lot. He's looking much cleaner than when he arrived, but one of his leg pieces (the middle one) doesnt fit all the way in the groove so he basically cant stand up. Can't wait to really get started though so i can post pics! I ordered some faceup stuff and its on its way!

 

LCMonkey~ I've found with my sisters, that it seems like you can get those backwards and then one side will fit fine but the other won't if they are backwards... So it might be worth it to try swapping the leg joints and seeing if they fit better... Which reminds me, at some point I really need to find a way to mark my dolly parts >.>

 

ive tried that and i think i have it down to which pieces are which, though itd be nice to have some closeups from different angles of pixiu's legs (anyone? ) However, one of the pieces is noticeably shorter than the other on the part with the hook things, and same with the bottom part of the thigh piece on one of the legs. im working on it though :P

thanks so much! ok i am even more sure the pieces are on the right sides, now i just need to see if tightening/loosening helps hold poses better....i also hot glue sueded but im not very good at it yet so not sure how much it helped. ill have a pic up in a bit to at least see her pretty face got most of the faceup off, except for the gold eyeliner and a little in the lips

Welcome to the thread baby ^_^ Gotta say, I love the gold eye liner on the factory pixiu. Kinda with Pi's faceup was alittle more like pixiu's >.>

 

I'm finally trying to do a faceup on my girl~ its really difficult, but im working with watercolor pencils for now while i practice, its not been going well hahahaha

Hi everyone! I have Pixiu in coffe skintone and I really love her smiling face.

 

I have some Pi spam! I tried styling his new wig that I made him to be less fluffy, it came out interesting!

Not sure if anyone can help with this or not...but roughly how long did it take for those that ordered their Pixiu directly from Bobobie Doll Mall?

I placed my order at the beginning February and it states in my account that the order is still pending. I have read that it does take them some time to ship them and all, so yea, I'm aware of that...but I'd still like some sort of idea or estimate on time. ^_^;;;

 

Seems like it was about 2 months. I ordered my son a Pi last August and it was home in October. Hope that helps!

 

BBB is about 6-8 weeks. Right now is probably going to be more towards the 8 end of that spectrum...

 

That definitely helps! ^_^ I've heard many semi-horrid stories of them taking MANY MANY MANY months to ship them, but if it's about 2 months, then I'm DEFINITELY good with that...so then, if it all works out well, he just might arrive in time for my birthday at the end of March! that would CERTAINLY be a FANTASTIC birthday present to myself! ^_____^

Oh, that is great you are gifting yourself something so nice! So, you are getting a Pixiu? What color? Do you have things you are getting ready? I don't know about the female bodies, but the Pi can wear Ken clothes, just not long pants because of his talons. Is this your first doll?

Yea...am not too worried about the clothing part...I think I've a few pieces of clothing that may fit him...and if not, well, I can sew him something cute if need be XD

He'll not be my first as I actually had a Dollshe Hound (which was my first) waaaaaaay back in 2006 I think...but found he was just too big for proper care and attention, so I traded/sold him for a DoC Yen...which I've since also sold him as, at the time, I couldn't give him the proper care and attention either ;___;...I do have a bunch of 12-18" Volks Dollfies (the Barbie/Ken sized versions) and acquired a Custom House/Ai Doll Little Junior (whom I've named Eiji)...but for the LIFE of me I can't remember which sculpt he is as I got him from a friend for doing some face-up work for her XD...but I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him when she brought him to a convention for a BJD panel and meet-up, so yea...she agreed to give him to me for doing the face-ups ^_^ I think I've had him longer than my two other BJDs! XD LOL...but yea...can't see parting with him cause he's so cute!!! XD and with Pixiu, yea...there'll be a bit of competition on cuteness! XD LOL...though I think the dragon boy will be traveling with me more often than Eiji XD

 

BBB only takes super long if something happens or you order through a 3rd party like Junky spot. They do the casting for themselves and for RS, which is where pixiu is actually from. In the future RS has a faster return time, it seems BBB prioritizes their orders, so if you -can- get a doll through RS -do-
