Box Openings: Awesome or Boring?

I really like seeing everyone open their boxes! I'm new to bjd's so everything is new to me and seeing any doll's arrival is exciting to me. I really like to see how they're sized in comparison with things as I prefer tiny tinies that will fit in my dollhouse and box openings give me a good idea of scale.

I've only been here a couple of days but yesterday most of that time was spent checking out all the arrival threads. I spent hours....HOURS...going through all the posts to soak up as much as I could about what dolls were out there. I'm not a massive fan of box opening videos though as I just like to get to the good stuff quickly and see the dolls, but I'll still watch them if there's a promise of a seeing a doll at the end of it

 

I find them extremely exciting especially when you are waiting on your own doll to come home, even better a dream doll that you thought in a million years you will never get. I couldn't watch box openings everyday though then the excitement kind of dies. But for me it's like christmas minus the wrapping paper lol

 

I think they are awesome especially when i'm waiting for a doll myself, i love seeing someone else's excitement as hey unwrap their box, i've spent many an hour (or two) watching unboxing videos!

 

i like watching box openings, cause that's when you get to really see how different companies or markets wrap/package their dolls, the boxes, and how they arrive (stringing tension, eyes-yes, no, box size, color, etc.) i know i tend to really watch them more and more the closer to the arrival date then SOOO much between the email of "IT SHIPPED" and the actual arrival to my house cause i'm sooo excited...(i'm waiting for a body right now...)

 

I have only seen the videos mostly, but I've really enjoyed them. It's so neat to see what the owner has picked for their doll and it can show you the nice details on a doll you never really considered much.

 

I like box openings. They're very informative, and fun when you're waiting for a similar doll. You get to see what the package will look like, what you can expect to receive, how the doll will look, etc.
I like it when there are photostories involved, too... but I prefer watching youtube videos. I watch about a dozen or so box opening videos whenever I order a doll. ^^;
I've never made my own though.

 

I like them, just to see the different dolls everyone likes and if they're a story or something funny it makes me smile.

 

I love box openings! Before I ordered my first doll, I liked to look at the box opening threads to check out all of the different sculpts and thought it was great to learn how the dolls come (packaging, how the company face-ups look, etc.)

After getting my first doll, I still love them. I can't say I watch many of the videos, but it's nice to be able to share in the excitement and happiness of others. Although, looking at the threads when I'm waiting for a doll to ship or arrive can sometimes make me feel a bit impatient...

 

I LOVE box-openings!! I will admit that some go on too long, I'm guilty of that, but it is nice to see someone that excited to get their doll.

 

I think they're useful. I look at box openings of dolls I'm thinking about buying because you can see more in a video than in a company picture. Some of them are boring and have awful video quality,but I just skip ahead to the end where I can see the doll.

 

Love them! First part of DoA I check for new posts! The happiness and joy and cuteness and humor are infectious and never fail to brighten my day!

 

I love the anticipation. Every time I have an opening, I try to take pictures. The possibilities are endless, its just like when you're about to write a poem, and so many things are going through your head. As far as watching others on youtube, I find sometimes if I like the doll I live vicariously through the owner. I think they can all be fun in their own way just by seeing the different boxes and things dolls come with.

 

I love watching box openings. Even though most box openings state what doll is in the box, it's still exciting to see what comes with the doll,
or what a doll looks like in person.

 

I only find box openings interesting when they involve dolls that I'm interested in.

 

Hi there =) To me, just like you, I like to see videos and pictures on box opening. The best thing is when I got my huge parcel arrived and I had a great time doing box opening. There was once I thought watching those videos might be kind of boring. But ever since then after owning my dolls, I found out that it was interesting and fun to watch. The best part is when you get to see how he/ she looks like in person to you and also the free gifts that some company gave (but I haven't got any up until now). Overall, I do enjoy box opening where it is like a present you receive^^

Hi there =) In my personal opinion, I think that it depends on the person themselves. For me, I Like watching box opening videos and also see story pictures of them. It is really exciting that I get to see other company's dolls and she how they sometimes put an extra special body parts or cute stuff for him/ her (although I do not have any yet). Overall, I am just like you, being excited over those things even though it is not me that is doing the box opening. Last time I find it boring, but when I owned one of them I think that it is actually a fun thing. And having to experience that with other owners, it's actually a wonderful experience to go through.

 

I like bох opening, because it is interesting to look as the doll in house conditions looks.

 

I only look for box openings for dolls I'm interested in or doll owners I've made friends with at some point.
Box openings turned into stories are a little exasperating for me, but only because I'm there to see pictures of the doll's opening and not to see other dolls cluttering the photos with some vague plot attached to it to make it look cute. This sounds rude (and maybe it is), but it's just my personal feeling about it.

I like both videos and photos. In photos you can see details up close (provided the photographer is decent with a camera.......), and in videos you can see how a doll looks in someone's hand, and from all angles quite clearly. You can also see how the joints move. Sometimes I get impatient if all I see is a doll's bum while the owner spends several long moments staring at the face, but, eh.

 

I like box openings because it's exciting to see what pretty new doll someone got :3

 

im the one soooo much like box opening! its really precious for a doll arrival. first we must pay off the money, and then we wait months for them. when they finally come, its such a huge surprise and pleasure! its reasonable to enjoy it. with the box opened slowly, we get more and more excited, until we finally got himself.
i love to watch box opening video, enjoy the happiness from others. im to shy to post a video, but a picture story is pretty good~.
