1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I love creative box openings! I don't tend to check out the box opening forum or anything most of the time... but I've checked now and then and seen some really cute ones. My favorites are when the person's other dolls investigate the box, etc.

    2. I love box openings! The more pictures the better! I actually get that "yaaay" feeling in my stomach every time I see an unopened box :D There doesn't have to be a story or anything, just lots of pictures, preferably a cat somewhere, and then the doll all put together :D Though photostories are cool too ^^

I don't look at videos though. I just like to look at the pictures.

    3. I love watching box openings! Even though we're only watching, the owner's excitement over the arrival and unpacking of the doll is felt too, so it really is quite a lot of fun :) I agree with Li Chan, the photos are one of my favorite parts of the box openings; nothing better than a lot of detailed photos!

    4. I used to find them a bit boring. I find them interesting when I've ordered a doll and want to know how they arrive but my interest is only of dolls I'm interested in having myself

    5. I had my box opening not too long ago. Every time I watch them on youtube I see how exciting they get. But when I got mine and opened it with my BJD skype friends it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, be I had to put the opening on delay to give my other doll a bath and dress her up.

I was ecstatic getting my new doll since he came in two weeks early, but then I had to carry my package and walk from the post office all the way home which is on the other side of town. So the excitement kind of dissipated because of that on a hot day. so I didn't open my package until about 2-3 hours later from when I got it. I have that kind of patience

    6. When I first started to look into the hobby and saw that box openings were a "thing", I really wondered what was so special about it since it felt as though everyone was doing it. But since then I've progressively gotten more into it and nowadays I enjoy them. It's been said repeatedly in this thread alone that it feels as though you're there with the Box Opener, and it's like a mini-Christmas to watch :D

I haven't gotten my first doll yet, but I've genuinely gone from "I'll never dream of doing a box opening myself" to even consider asking a friend to record it, since I now enjoy watching videos as well :3 It's fun to see the differences in how people open the boxes - some just tear them right open, while others take their time, opens it bit by bit, and examines all the pieces like the true artwork these dolls are :D

    7. I frequent the box opening threads to check out others' new dolls but I'm not really into doing my own. It's interesting to see the variety and all the new dolls being released. :) It's definitely helpful when you're trying to decide on a new addition!

    8. I like box openings when the doll is shown clearly and I can check how it looks like compared to something (hand/book/box..) but only if it's photos (and when looking for info about new sculpt/something I am interested in)

I don't know why, but the few times I have started to look at a box opening video, the sound of the new owners voice just makes me go away (Maybe it has been the quality of the mic or something... I don't know :( ) In a way I am really disappointed because of that, because it would be great to see how happy people are when they get their doll :D

    9. Similar to PhadeSkye I'm usually only interested in a video if they are opening a doll I want to see/know more about. I love seeing people's excitement and it gets my excited to open my own :)

    10. I love box openings myself. Waiting for my first doll, it's so fun to see everyone's excitement! :D I like videos more than the threads, but I like them both. I hope to do a box opening video once my boy gets here, seems like less interruptions to take pictures. Or I'll take pictures. I don't really know. But it's fun to look through or watch other peoples' box openings while I wait for my own :)

    11. I love box openings. All of them, for all dolls. I haunt that forum. LOL.

    12. Videos of box openings I love, I can join in on their contagious happiness over a new doll.:)

    13. I love box openings. I like seeing not-factory photos of dolls and sharing that "new-doll" feeling

    14. I adore box openings! c: Both videos and pictures. I think some people are very creative with them, and it gets me terribly excited for my own dolls to arrive!

    15. I think they can be helpful and informative if you are undecided about buying a particular doll and need to see how it compares in reality with its promo shots. They also provide you with a reference source when you need to re-package a doll that you are re-homing and cannot recall exactly how everything was originally wrapped, located and positioned. Another benefit, I think, is that in the event of a dispute, complaint or claim, you have a visual record of the condition of the doll and its packaging when you received it and of any extras that were or should have been included, but were missing.

I do watch them from time to time, just for fun and out of curiosity, to see a doll that I have not heard or had sight of before.

    16. I really like seeing how things are packaged, so I tend to look at box openings just to see what the box and packaging looks like. I prefer videos to pictures, but I like taking a look at the pictures too.
I did a box opening once, but it was a quick one, just for fun, because I got an early release of a doll. But other than that instance, I don't really get any joy out of making a video box opening for dolls or anything else because I don't want to get all decent to make a video and would rather just rip open the box on my bed ;P

    17. I like box openings. It's nice to see people excited when they get their doll in the mail. It's also really nice to see which company has the cutest pillows, haha !
I usually like looking at pictures more than videos, but I watch videos once in awhile.

    18. I usually just look at the ones I'm interested in so I can get a fair understanding of the size.

    19. I only really look at box openings for reference. They're usually the best place to find blank, nude photos of a doll.

    20. When I was new to the hobby I loved watching box opening videos to fuel my own excitment - I've been in the doll hobby a while now and have many varying types of dolls, box openings are not so exciting for me.

I must say though that I do love to watch the box openings when people get really over excited. It's so happy =D I only record BJD openings now just to have proof incase of issues, not to upload for general veiwng :P
