1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I love box openings :D I find them so exciting and fun! I cannot wait until I get my first doll so I can make my first doll opening video for YouTube. I like photos and video :D

    2. sometimes its a bit bording people talk about 10 minutes while trying to open the box- but then when the doll is out of the box and the new owner showes how to pose the doll its very interesting to me

    3. I only look at box openings for doll's that I've ordered or am interested in ordering. It's like pre-excitement excitement for me. If I'm not interested in the doll though, then I'm not inclined to look at/watch a box opening for them.
It's nice to be able to see what a doll I've ordered will be like when they arrive. I can easily see if they might need restringing right out of the box or how well they pose or just get those new doll feels when the wait gets to be too much. It gets me excited all over again.

    4. I dunno I find them fun to look at. Seeing the awesomeness that is new dolly~ Especially when I'm sitting here waiting for mine to come home xD Getting my fix before it my turn? *shrug*

    5. It is interesting to me to watch unpackings. Especially if it is unpacking of very interesting, limit or unusual doll. Thanks to unpackings it is possible to look as the doll which wasn't pleasant on promo foto looks, and to start going crazy :)
But, if it is unpacking of a usual doll, for example Ipl, the is less than words, the better, and it is possible to be glad only for the keeper)

    6. At first I did them to share the joy, then I did them if I was one of the first to get this particular doll or noticed I was one of few, or if the company was relatively unknown of if people e.g. in the waiting room specifically requested I do one.

I think they are a great source to see what exactly you can expect, how well does a company or retailer wrap your purchases and what things (freebies, certificate, pillows, etc.) do they include other than what you specifically ordered.

I'm not really looking at box openings until I'm in the mood (which is rarely), unless I'm looking eg. for a particular company or doll, usually one that I'm considering or activly planning to purchase myself.

    7. I think it very much depends on the video. They can be really lovely to watch, it's nice to see someone else's joy at the arrival of their doll. But some do drag on a bit, to be honest.

    8. I enjoy box openings, they're great when I'm alone in the house and want some background noise, its nice to have someone rattling on about dolls hehe xD

Sometimes I get too impatient and skip to the end when they put the dolls face to the camera...or the ones that come in two parts both 15 mins long I won't bother with the first one.

    9. I love box openning. Always I think about the joy that I had in the past :).

    10. Kinda boring. I watched one video on YouTube, shrugged and said, so what?

    11. I personally find them boring..I just like to rip into boxes. I mean, I've waited so long for dolls to get here, so why prolong my suffering? Haha. I did make a box opening video once...I didn't realize my camera had tilted, so I just got an entire video of my doll's man-bits and backside...haha

    12. At first, I did not enjoy looking a box openings, but by now I really do!
It's nice to see the new owner's excitement when opening up his/her new doll :)

I don't enjoy watching box opening video though... I don't know why. Only looking at threads and nice pictures.

    13. I'm still a beginner, so it can be because I'm not used to it yet, but I like either photos of box openings (and I especially love those which are made into a photo story!) or a rather short (~5 minutes) box opening video. Which is longer, I tend to click forward in the video so I can see the dolly sooner! :D
Aaaaand I maaay be browsing for such box openings where someone is so lucky they get a doll who's on my wish list~ :D

    14. I kinda like both.^^ but i like video box openings more. I can see the owner's excitement, and watch them admire their new doll once out of the box. The joy is infectious! Especially when it's a doll I would like to own myself, it's great! The only thing I wouldn't wanna go through with video box openings is if the person takes a long time talking before starting.^^;; talking while slicing the packing tape open is alright, but talking a lot with the box sitting on the side makes me impatient and I skim through the video.^^;;

    15. I like them if they're not too long. I like to watch people's facial expressions when they see the doll for the first time! And also if they give a review on the body or show off the poseablity at the end, that's a really great reference, if it's a body I'm looking at.

    16. It is interesting to see how doll looks in person, not photoshoped or after two hours of taking a pose. It is easy way to see correct skin tone, sculpt and proportion. Especially video opening.

    17. I like them when I am either looking at a new doll I want, or if I am awaiting one of my own. I feel like its like I'm living vicariously through them so I don't go crazy waiting for my own! Otherwise I find them really boring? Right now I'm obsessed with diorama video/photo sets, probably because I'm building my own right now XD I'm sure otherwise I'd never watch them

    18. I love them!!! I often hunt those threads down on all boards :)

    19. After being on DoA since 2007, I still love box openings. I'm guessing it's the 'mystery' for me of what the person on the other end ordered, what's in the box, was it secondhand or straight from the company, on and on and on... Plus the general satisfaction from seeing someone else happy. :)

    20. I try not to post pictures of boxes (I know a lot of you out there are just like me, so stop making that face :p)
i guess its excitement that you want to take pictures of everthing. some people are excited and yet have enough clarity to turn it
into a photo story (kudos for you!) but some of us, especially OCD people took pictures of almost everything, the stamp, scanning booklet, etc.
it is more like sharing your own experience and feelings, not that you have a rare doll and the packaging is totally different.
like youre sharing your first vacay to paris, and other people who have seen the eiffel tower shot in almost every angel find it nothing special.

box opening is also good to learn what the company includes, not includes, have the box or content change,
and if there is something fishy or different about it.
like when did volks stop including pins with their dolls? i have about 5, but i never knew when i stop getting them.
I never watch videos, i try a couple of times but sometimes they just drone on and i would space out and totally forgot they were on because i was doing something else.
