1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I love my own box openings.... Because obviously receiving a new doll is extremely exciting, as you have usually had to wait for months before your new boy or girl arrives! : D

The only time I look at other people's box openings though is if I want to see what a nude face-up less doll looks likes of a sculpt I'm interested in buying, or to see what the company packaging is like.

    2. I enjoy checking them out~ and the vicarious joy is always nice :)

    3. I love the box opening section of the forum. It is always one of the first places I go.

    4. Usually I'm really exciting when I'm opening boxes when I have waited so long already my new baby, and then it just finally is in front of my eyes and my feeling is like :aheartbea And of course I usually do some little photoshoot with it immediately after that I'm got it out of the box XD

    5. I never take pictures of my own, but I love checking them out from other people :)

    6. I agree with this. I look at box openings mostly when they box opening has to do with something having been damaged, and I find these threads and images on various sites when digging up information on companies I am debating ordering from. I also like seeing owner pictures of dolls before I buy the same sculpt, but I don't find seeing these "box opening" pictures particularly helpful, (well, any more helpful than seeing completed dolls of the same sculpt) mostly because people take the worst pictures of their dolls when they are still blank. The images are often just "look I have proof that I own this now" rather than particularly informative examples. I would rather look at a variety of completed heads of the sculpt I am interested in. . . although I do have to say that the one area where box openings do help me quite a bit is with deciding whether I like the body aesthetic of a doll company/make or not. Most people don't seem to take a lot of nude pictures of their dolls after the box openings.

But box openings are not really my cup of tea, and I only took my first "box opening" pictures (I had opened him the day before, but he was literally still in the box when I took the pictures) a couple days ago, after the arrival of my 3rd doll. . . but the reason was because I had planned to do a complete nose reshaping, so basically I wanted to be able to have before and after pictures.

The exciting part about the hobby for me doesn't have to do with the consumer aspect of "receiving" these high priced dolls -- the excitement is in seeing all the amazing things people do with them (to validate the cost) and being able to enjoy the process of creating your own character through lots of work.

    7. I also agree with this statement.
But I also just love to see photos.

    8. I love watching box openings on YouTube...seeing how people act when they see their dolls for the first time is fun! I've never attended one in person yet, but I want to.

    9. i love looking at box opening videos! i don't know even if it's someone i don't know, i just feel happy for them that they've got their dolls.

i personally don't do box opening videos because i will just be too distracted with killing the box and bubble wrap to get to my doll xD

    10. I absolutely love seeing box openings; I truly watch those to hold me over until I get a doll of my own! x3

    11. I also don't like watching the videos. I enjoy box opening pictures, though. I can see the dolls I like, the packaging, the boxes, gifts and really often you can also see the blank doll, which you often can't in the promo pictures.

    12. I love watching box opening photos , it´s nice to see what kind of dolls people get and how they make them look like characters. And how they change the original comppany doll to something what has not been seen before!

    13. Box-openings are interesting. * u *

I love seeing how happy and excited people are opening their dolls.

I wanted to make a video for my first doll--
      but I was so excited I forgot to. > u < ! ! !

    14. I like the Box Openings, to me is very exciting to recieve a doll or to see other people enthusiastic about their doll´s arrivals.

    15. I enjoy box openings when they're thorough. It's nice to be able to see a blank face, or how the company makeup looks without professional lighting. I like the accessories and extras. While I only look at dolls I'm interested in, I find box openings to be a treasure trove of information.

    16. I love box openings! It gets me all excited...and sad. Sad because I haven't had my first doll yet. But I love watching them and the people's excitement.

    17. I guess it depends on the box opening. Some are fun, some are boring. I mostly just watch my friends box openings anyways.

    18. Me too! There's a bunch of good box opening videos on YouTube I solely watch just to actually witness their excitement. I love the picture ones on here, too. Especially when I'm interested in a doll, I search for box openings of them to see how they came packaged, how they look, and all that jazz. They're very addicting to view through.

    19. I like them~ Like other people have said, it's nice to see others' excitement over opening their doll and all that!

    20. I mostly go browse box-openings to see new owner photos and such, but I also like to see how different companies pack everything up.
I don't have anything close to patience to do my own.
