1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I think box opening can be very informative when I'm looking for a specific doll. It gives me a chance to see a doll sculpt without all the Photoshop, professional lights of the default images. Also most dolls are not wearing clothes or wigs in these shoots, photos you wont find in the gallery or database. So they're awesome to see exactly what you are getting as your basic doll.

I like box openings with not too many pictures, that highlight both the quality features of a doll .Ie maybe a standing and sitting pose, and a picture of the face. I think pictures such as the doll with multiple wig/eyes trying on, the shipping box photo, candy pillows, face cover, and etc are just OTT. A mummified doll it okay because it shows packaging quality but other than that yeah....
And I'm just a sucker for Cat in box pictures, that's a personal thing tho xD

    2. Awesome. In a hobby where so much energy is expended on whining, complaining, approval-seeking, and attempting to dictate to others, I find it pure delight to spend some time in the box openings forum. Seeing other people's box openings, especially those for first dolls, helps me recapture how I felt when I bought my first doll and still had all the excitement and discovery ahead of me. The pillows and face protectors WERE thrilling, honest. I loved that feeling, and it's huge fun for me to see that others are still experiencing it.

    3. I find them pretty boring as videos, but I like looking at them as a series of photos.

I'd rather see doll reviews than openings as videos though. I always just skip to the end of the videos.

    4. I like to watch them for dolls that I'm thinking about getting, so I can see what they look like nude and their motion and that sort of thing. It's always nice to see the excited reactions of the people opening. Personally I don't record or take pictures of my box openings, and the only one I really remember is my first doll, cuz he's special to me Cx

    5. At first I didnยดt like them as videos. but now I found it kind of interesting, and yeah, I usually watch box openings!

    6. I like seeing photos of box openings. Videos - not so much. I love seeing doll being taken out of box. It's interesting. ^^

    7. I don't watch/look at box openings unless it's a doll I'm thinking about getting. The pictures on the websites can be somewhat unreliable, so when I want to see what a doll really looks like, then I watch someone's box opening videos or look at some pictures. They can be very helpful for these sorts of things.

    8. I gotta be honest, it's boring. I did it when I first got dolls, and a sporadic time or two in between. In general, my dolls come in pieces and it takes forever before I want anyone to see them. I also am too busy playing with my giant toys to take pictures after first getting them.

    9. I loooove box openings. I find myself watching or looking at 6-8 box openings a day. :)

    10. I adore watching lots of box openings when waiting for a particular doll to arrive. It feels like you're sharing in their joy. :)

    11. I love looking at box openings; to be honest, it gives me a little bit of an emotional high and excitement as if I just received the doll myself.

I don't like video ones because I'm impatient.

    12. I like. But I guess my interest is because we are friends, you know?
Or became friends, like, chating in the waiting room for a time :sweat

I usually bite when someone forget to take pictures as well xD

    13. I love box openings! I think it's really cute how excited everyone gets when they open their doll. I also like to check out sculpts I'm interested coming in, how they look blank, first impressions and such.

    14. I like seeing the photographs since it's especially interesting when it's from a company you're considering. I often lurk in that forum to see new dolls arriving that don't have owner pictures yet. I like taking photos of them myself, for those who are curious about the dolls.

Videos I don't like though, they tend to last too long and you can easily skim through photos instead.

    15. I love box openings, pretty much all of my posts so far have been on box opening threads! xD

    16. I find myself fast forwarding to the part where the doll comes out of the box, and then it has my undivided attention. I love seeing the dolls and how they compare to people and other dolls. Very exciting!

    17. I looove box opening its! It's really interesting to see how different dolls are packaged and the opening rituals people have. ^.^

    18. I only watch the box openings for dolls that I'm interested in/looking to buy. However when it comes to those, I love box openings! Seeing the dolls without the pro photography aspect is nice, and it's also fun to see the joy on people's faces when they open the box :)

    19. I love box openings, especially of dolls that I'm waiting for or ones that I'm interested in obtaining some day. This helps making the wait easier and let me know what to expect, so it can be informative as well. I also enjoy watching/ reading the owner's excitement, something all doll collectors share, since it's a nice feeling getting the doll you want.

    20. I love looking at box openings, and I think most of my comments comes from that area. Some of the photos are adorable and creative. Not only that, but seeing the different types of doll companies, how they package, and what to expect. :)
