1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Box opening is a very fun thing to do. :)
I love to see box openings, even though I rarely give a comment.

    2. I like making photostories whenever I get to do box opening ^^

    3. This exactly. To lazy to type essentially identical reply.

    4. I love box openings. I watched a lot of them while I was waiting for my first doll. Mostly for the kind of doll I am biased towards. It really helped ease the wait for me.

I don't watch as many of them now but I still enjoy them. I have a feeling when I order my next one in the next couple months I will be watching tons of them once again.

People are completely adorable when they are rambling about their dolls and I find it funny and cute how a lot of them comment on exactly the same things. I also like cats in boxes. :P

I didn't film my own, although I did film my friend opening one of hers. For my next one I'll probably do some photos.

    5. I love box openings, especially if they're of a doll I've been looking at. They're informative and very fun to look at.

    6. It depends on the box opening. I hate videos, because they take FOREVER and you have to guess at where to skip to get to the doll, then you're never sure if they have good clear video of the doll up close. I've seen so many where you waste ten minutes watching them meticulously pick out packing peanuts and when they finally get to the doll they give it a quick shake at the camera from the other side of the room and go back to sifting through peanuts. With pictures the focus is usually much closer, so even if you only get one good shot of the doll you can stop and inspect it. Some of the photostory ones are interesting, but usually I just scroll through to see outer packing, company packing, doll and what kind of extras there might have been.

    7. I love looking at box openings! I don't really enjoy making them so much (one of the few instances where I prefer to watch other people do something over doing it myself) but I find them a lot of fun to look at! It makes me feel happy seeing other people's excitement and it's also really informative to get to see what dolls look like straight out of the box!

    8. I agree! i love to watch people on youtube open their dolls! it makes me even more excited to open my futrue ones!
Opening your box is also soooo fun too! :P

    9. I really enjoy watching box openings videos, but I only watch the ones that are more like a review of the doll, if they start rambling I close the tab. xD

    10. I Love Box Openings. You Get To Share The Excitement With Someone Else While Your Waiting For Yours (Or Just Skimming Around On YouTube). I Like To Look At Box Openings For Dolls I Am Interested In. (I Like To See What They Look Like Without The Wig, Clothes, etc..)

    11. I really like watching box-openings at you-tube.
You can see the excitement of the new owner and I really enjoy that.
Only I hate it when the person keeps taking pictures as wel of the doll when they are opening, seems to make it soooo much longer and they most of the time forget to show the doll!!!!

    12. I love box openings if the pictures are clear and it's not repetitious. I like videos if there's music in the background and the box opening happens at a fast pace.

Box openings can be very informative on how well a seller packs the doll, and usually owners will give you a time frame of how long it took to ship the doll. Occasionally owners do a review on the doll, body, and/or company, and I find that extremely enjoyable. There's also the always enjoyable comic style box openings or photostory type, or just really nice pictures. People get so creative with box openings.

Additionally, I really like looking at different packaging. For example, I've noticed that Dollmore boxes used to have a picture of a drawing of a bjd, but now it's a picture of a Dahlia. I've noticed that Doll Leaves now include little folder certificates whereas in the beginning they didn't have anything. Also that Resinsoul sculpts ordered from Bobobie (or dealers that order from Bobobie) doesn't come with carriers.

    13. XD I find them exciting. Even more so now that My girl is coming in the mail soon. I can feel that absolute "kid on christmas" feeling that the openers have. Its like Childhood all over again! ^_^

    14. I love the box opening section and check it frequently because I love seeing other's excitement at receiving their dolls, and they're great sources of information on things like wait times and packaging methods. At the same time, I tend to pay more attention to the sculpts and companies that I'm interested in, but I find box openings interesting/exciting in general, on some level. There are some well done photostories that I really enjoy though xD

    15. I am excited once I see the box but the opening of it IMO is pretty lame, but then excitement comes back when you have your doll free.

      :fangirl:

    16. I LOVE seeing box openings on youtube! I especially like to watch them when I get ready for school/work in the morning!

    17. i have to admit it i love watching box openings as well theyre very enertaining cuz the ppl i see on the videos seem awesome and sometimes its adorable how the ppl are so eager to open the box open xD quite frankly i would to xD they also tell funny stories like this one lady said she was about to harass a ups guy cuz she was just getting back from work and the ups guy was already leaving her house and she literally followed him to get her doll xD so histerical. but yeah i want to make a box opening for my bobobie lu when she arrives ^-^

    18. Box Openings: Awesome or Boring? Fantastic title btw  I think they're a bit of both^^ Awesome because I can pretend that it is my new doll that's being opened- and boring because I really don't need to see all that bubble wrap coming off *_* But I would rather see box opening threads than not :)

    19. The only box opening video I really watched was for a Soom MD Heliot after the loooooong wait - I skip other videos, never been invested enough, I guess. I still look at photostory box-openings but I tend to scroll through just looking for the photos I'm interested in.

I do like box openings, but I tend to check that area just for dolls I'm waiting on to see what they look like in person, or just look at dolls I'm curious about.

    20. It usually depends, but I mostly look at box openings of companies/dolls I like. They get bonus points for making a small photostory! :D
