1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. Either works for me. ^^ I have both prevously loved and brand new. Well, one is more of a half'n'half as I bought his head brand new, but the body is a previe. XD

      Its all good really.

    2. All of my boys are new, but I wouldn't mind a previously loved. I'm just too impatient to look on the marketplace for whatever doll I want, so I buy them new. XD

    3. I'm down with either as I have both. When I see a face I love...old or new...it doesn't matter. But I do get a better sense about my previously loved dolls as I feel they are coming to a home that truly welcomes them.

But overall, it's that old, "love has no color," syndrome.

    4. It doesn't matter to me, I like to buy second-hand dolls since I think they need a lot of love, being adopted out. And sometimes, to find the doll of your dream there is not other option than to go for a previously loved doll.

    5. I prefer new dolls because I know exactly what I'm getting. That being said I have several dolls that I have adopted and I'm very happy with them. This may sound a little weird but before I buy a doll from someone I look at a lot of the sellers' posts to get a feel for what kind of person they are. Also, by looking at pictures they've posted of their dolls I get a feel for how they treated their dolls too. I'm very picky and haven't been disappointed yet.

    6. It depends. There are some dolsl that you want the 'fullset' NIB with the custom outfit and boxes.Others you dont really care to have them as full set so why not get them used? I have only 2 standard editions but would like to get a full set Isao or other doll but since he is not new anymore he will be both used and full set ..:)

    7. It doesn't make a diffrence to whether a doll is new or "previously loved", but since it usuallt takes a smaller amount of time when I buy a doll from it's previous owner, I preffer that to buying new dolls.

    8. actually, I prefer pre-owned. Sure there's a risk, but a little research before buying will reduce that tremendously.
The only things I've bought straight from the company are the bodies of Timothy and lord Alikaj and for both I had to wait a long (and in Alikaj's case véry long) time. One of the advantages of buying dolls in the marketplace is that he's coming home soon after you've paid the money.

Besides, most of the dolls I want are no longer for sale, so I have no other choice.

    9. I don't have a problem getting a pre-owned. Two of mine are. I love the idea of getting a new one though, then I can say to myself no one but he has ever given him/her "life".

Also one of the pre-owned ones I got had some stuff that wasn't mentioned wrong with it. Poor thing had some fierce yellowing and scratches..and well became a little bit of a rescue. Which is cool too :)

So I guess I'm in the middle, I don't mind pre-owned but also love new!

    10. To be honest, for me it all depends on the price. If I can find a doll on Marketplace that is in good condition, for much cheaper than the website I'll buy it. And if it has a faceup, I'd just wipe it and do my own. I don't worry about it keeping it's previous personality at all.
Why buy a new doll who will definately find a home when you can buy a doll who needs a new home?

    11. I've just reviewed all the dolls I got. Out of my 4 minis, 3 are second hands.

Out of the 4 SD heads I bought, 2 are 2nd hand. The one SD body I have is 1st hand.

I generally prefer buying 2nd hand cos I don't have to wait.

    12. I prefer new. It's just the idea that it's never been played with or had another name. A fresh start! ^^

But as long as its in good condition then I dont mind second hand. :)

    13. Actually, I only have three right now. I tend to like less common molds, so I have a slim chance of finding them second hand.

My aod juli was actually bought second hand and i could not be happier. I would definitely buy another second hand doll, if i found the perfect mold. :-D

    14. I'd say over half of the dolls I own have been pre-owned, especially where my Volks dolls are concerned as I've never been able to win a lottery and fortunately I've never had to pay some of the scary prices in the after market due to purchasing from some really nice people right here on DOA. I've maybe paid a little extra for two of my dolls but not in major excess. A few of my dream dolls may not have been brand new but they've all arrived in mint condition or just slightly been played with due to age and even then, they are in really excellent condition. There's something very special about dolls being purchased from someone who loved them first...I make especially sure they are all nice and comfortable in their new environment and give plenty of attention so they'll always be happy and content. The same of course, goes with brand new dolls fresh from the factory! I just love all my dolls no matter how they are purchased:)

    15. All of my dolls have been pre-owned and I like it that way. I like thinking that they had another life before they met me the same way I had another life before I met them. Also, I've been lucky in that all of mine have been in perfect condition on arrival. No horrible surprises when I opened the box!

    16. So far I have bought all second hand, but I don't really have a preference.

I guess a big advantage of buying second hand would be the lower price (in most cases).

    17. I don't really have a preference, but most of my dolls have been previously owned--I guess because when they come for sale, I love their face/personality/etc. and do what I can to get them, lol!

I have bought a couple of the dolls new, and I don't find that to be a plus for me personally.

    18. I think I like them previously loved best. I couldn't tell you why, but I find I generally play with those dolls more. I've also been fortunate in that all of my previous loved beauties have arrived in perfect condition, whereas Theron arrived with a broken hand, Kiera's headcap was and is a PiTA (currently the magnet has popped out), and there have been other issues with spanking new dolls direct from the companies.

Of course, for all I love the second hand ones, I've noticed a disturbing trend with mi familia: with the exception of Simi (DES), I seem to have a great deal of trouble naming the previously loved ones. For the life of me I have no idea why..

    19. I think I'd prefer buying new, because I want all my dolls to be blushing/face-up free. There's less guilt if I don't have to totally wipe away a gorgeous face that just doesn't suit the character the doll is based off of.

    20. I have no preference. Of course it is fantastic to say "hey, this has been mine from the start!", but it is not a definite reason for buying new. Price and condition are what really matters to me ^^
