1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Several of my crew did come as full-sets, but none of those dolls (Including my one-off Volks Alain-) are currently wearing their entire full set "look". Some have been re-painted. almost all have on completely different outfits, and/or eyes, and/or wigs. Simply coming with a particular set of accessories has never made them seem less personal to me, because I know full well that as soon as they get here I'm going to start tinkering with them, and by the time I'm done those "goodies" they came with may or may not still belong to them.

Like Jenny, I always keep those bits and pieces... But more often than not, they end up being worn by someone else completely.

    2. Its totally okay to have fullset dolls! Sometimes I fall in love with the way the doll looks on the website and don't feel the need to change anything. I have one doll that I ordered fully done up and blushed by the company, and I love how she looks, and another doll that I do the face ups on myself. I love them both, and I think it just depends on what works best for you! I like customizing mine a lot, but the cool thing about this hobby is that there's no right or wrong way to enjoy BJDs.

    3. I don’t see anything wrong with buying full sets. Personally I have to reality like the full set, otherwise I just buy the head. They can also be great for a first doll purchase. Almost a third of my dolls are full sets.

    4. My first and (at the moment, my only) bjd came as a full set (Island Doll Amy Palace Versailles). I feel like the full set made it a tad wee bit overpriced. I loved her dress in the pictures, but I do not feel that it was worth the extra $100 that I paid. I could have gotten a dress that looks less mass-produced from etsy for the same price. I took out the eyes because they don't have pupils and I really don't like that, afterall. :'( I feel like I'm being overly picky, but for a first bjd I feel like I rushed the purchase and probably shouldn't have gotten the full set. I also ended up removing the default faceup and doing my very first faceup! Live and learn, though! It's blank, nude dolls for me from here on out. :)

    5. I don't see full sets as less personal because even if they all look the same on the outside, each person that owns it will see something different with their own eyes, and that's all that matters.
