1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Buying Things For A Doll You Don't Have.

Jun 24, 2011

    1. For the doll I'm paying off right now, I don't have a super clear plan for him quite yet, fashion-wise at least. He's gonna be blank so I've been more focused on planning his faceup and I haven't felt much drive to buy any clothes or accessories until he's in my hands and painted.... except, I do really want to get him some simple outfit like a tshirt and stuff or even just some underwear. I know myself, and I know if I'm not careful he's gonna sit there naked for months as I agonize over his outfits :P
I think having a starting point (even just some undies lol) always helps me get the ball rolling on planning things like that, if that makes sense.

    2. I've been doing this lately  But I'm currently waiting for my doll to arrive; I purchased him about two months ago and have about a month of waiting left. So I've been buying him his wardrobe and such in the meantime since I have a clear idea of his character!

Even if a doll wasn't on the way, I don't see a problem with buying things for a doll that isn't in possession yet! I think it can be a fun way to plan for a doll/character you want someday; I see it taking a step towards a goal. Personally, however, I would really only do this if I have a very clear idea of what I want for a specific doll or character since sometimes doll plans can change once you actually have the doll in your hands!

    3. I can see an argument both ways... but honestly I bought items for my doll long before I ever ordered her. It was easier to afford things like clothes at first, and I wanted to have items to dress her in before she arrived! So I bought a lot of clothes, wigs, shoes, etc. before I had my first doll.
