Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Buying your second BJD

May 4, 2009

    1. I got my first two dolls at the same time. My girlfriend suggested that I get two so the one wouldn't be lonely and I agreed that it was a good idea.

    2. When I feel my first doll seems so longly, I know it is the time to let another member to join my famliy.
This process toke me 8 months.

    3. I was planning to get another doll actually before my first doll was arrived~ To tell the truth, there are sooooooooo many dolls was in my washing list, but after I received the package for the first doll, I don't want another one anymore~

    4. I'm currently considering my second doll as my new boy needs a girl. It took me months of looking to be sure about the first doll, I'm now happily searching for the perfect girl to go with. I think the searching is part of the fun! :)

    5. the first time i saw them i knew i wanted several. i come from a family of doll collectors, antique, but its the same diffeernce. but because of finances im still saving for my 2nd doll

    6. I think it was a year before I bought my second BJD...it took me ages to save for her, though, so it wasn't that I didn't want one sooner.

    7. About 12 months after I got my first doll and had fully explored this strange, new world of BJD ownership (found out about actual doll companies. I was so ignorant that I thought BJD's were only sold on Ebay!!) I put a WTB thread in the MP on the off chance of scooping up a Dark Elf Soo - my dream doll. No soap. Just when I was considering buying her new, a kind soul contacted me and I was able to adopt her.

    8. Shortly after I decided to save for my 1st. :sweat
I really love her mold, so I decide to save for her after finishing the 1st one.
Of course there's a long time between them, since money doesn't fall from the sky and I'm jobless right now, and everything is based on my pocket money.
      I don't feel regret, because I love them so much~ :)

    9. I have my second doll after I own my first one about 2 years. I have a Full size first then I got my Tiny doll the second:lol: I love them both

    10. This has been really unexpectedly :) 3 months after my first BJD I saw a time-limited BJD and loved hery very much. And I was in hurry to buy her :)

    11. I had only planned for one, but then I saw a pre-loved doll that I just absolutely had to have. Then it was a Pukisha, because 'she was little and didn't cost that much'. Now I've ordered a Soom Bygg, just because I loved the way he looked.
These dolls are like potato chips; you just can't stop with one. I wasn't planning on such a large doll family, but here they are!

    12. It's been 8 months since my first got here, and already there are some dolls I've spotted that I've fallen very hard for. :'D So I don't have my second, yet, but I'm definitely considering it.

    13. I'm buying the head for my second doll now. I don't feel bad at all, because my girl now is a MSD girl, and I'm buying a SD boy. They're not alike at all, so it's not like either can be replaced.

Even though I don't like to treat the dolls like human children or pets, I can explain it best through saying it's like buying another pet or having a new baby. It doesn't make you love the ones you already have any less, does it?

    14. It was about a half year before I thought about wanting another doll, when my mom said that my boy'd be lonely when school started, another half year till i'd decided I wanted another doll, -another- half year before I stumbled upon the Fairyland website and it completely threw my wishlist off track and made me want one, specifically a Pukipuki ^w^;; I just ordered my Pukipuki a few days ago~

    15. after i got akando i thought i would never want another doll...that lasted about a month...surfing on ebay i saw an already-owned doll and she was so lovely i just couldn't resist her. but i was lucky inthat my 2 oldest daughters have been into the hobby for a few years and they guided me and made me feel confident in my choices.

    16. Well, after my boyfriend officially gave me Yumiko, my Dollfie Dream, I started thinking about how nice it would be if she had a boyfriend too. One thing led to another, and I wound up with a minor windfall. Not an expensive doll, but an Obitsu. Initially I wanted a 55cm boy, but I found a body in the Marketplace, and now Yumiko has a boyfriend. You can see him in my new userpic.

    17. When did you decide it was time to buy your second BJD? What made you want another one?

I wanted to make a photostories with BJD. I was thinking at that time that I can always invite other BJD owners for the shoot. But lately I understood that I need my own BJDs - they are always available, I know their poseability well, they are hotglued and strung properly etc. So I decided to have 2 more BJDs so there would be two guys and one girl. The first two are ready and the last one is in the progress currently.

Did you wait any length of time before hitting the buy button after you got your first doll?

It was about 5 month. But I'm very picky so it was hard to find a woman who can match my first guy well. Anyway I was lucky in the end.

Did you feel bad for the first one you got, and started regretting the purchase?

Surely no)))) He should be grateful to me that I bought a lover for him)))

    18. Y buy my second doll 2 years ago of my first
I late this time because when i receipt my first doll , im fell bad because i spend much money in her
But i decide buy it the second doll because i love this dolls and i think always in they
And now I´m charmed with my 2 dolls:D
If you continue thinking about them during 6 months i think that you are prepared to buy the second doll :)

    19. I didn't plan to buy a second bjd at first. one month after buying my first bjd, while surfing at a forum, i saw my second boy. i like his mould and i had enough money to buy him, and he was a DOI. after looking his pictures at dod site, i like him a lot. and nobody wanted to buy him, so i bought him from the owner. although it is a second hand doll, but he is still in good condition. and i did not regret buying him.
cuz his quality is really good! and i was amazed by his six packs abs..lol. he is the first doll that i practiced face up on. and the result was quite nice, though my skill is not veri pro, but it still give me the desired look that i like. ^^

    20. I've been waiting for a sculpt to just leap out and go "Pick me!! Pick ME!" and I've found an original minimee head in the market place that does just that. So really, I'm just buying the head at this point and saving up for a yet to be determined body. Amusingly enough the body for my new boy will cost more than my entire first doll, RS/BBB Dai. And after that I'm gonna get a Soom Namu and hybridize him on a BBB body.
