Buying your second BJD

I have not bought my second one yet, I'm in the same boat as you right now!

I got my first doll about a year ago, and boy do I love the hell out of him, just to answer one of your questions. My issue is that I only planned to get one but now am dying for a second, and which one to get! I'm debating between three different molds, and if I should spend the money on another one at all. :<!

However, if you're financially settled and can afford one, then by all means I'd say go for it! They're a joy to have, and there's nothing wrong with loving something you collect. Some people might drop a few thousand for coins and stamps-- at least the doll is posable? >.>:;; Haha.

 

I just received my second doll yesterday.

I decided about a year after I got Sanyu that I had found the perfect sculpt for the next character I wanted, Gael. I wanted to buy her then, but financial situations said otherwise. Then, a year after deciding to get her... I finally DID get to buy her. I did kind of feel bad just because everyone else keeps saying that the money should have gone to other things... but after seeing her for the first time yesterday and noticing that her certificate said 'limited edition' I just couldn't regret getting her. If I hadn't gotten her, would she have been gone before I got another chance? I would never want to take that risk!

I don't feel bad for Sanyu because she (character wise) loves her mother, the doll I got, and would have wanted her home as well. So they are happily sitting together right now. I will still play with Sanyu, though she got such a head start that I feel I owe it to Gael to give her a lot of alone time, too.

But I just can't regret getting her and I'm saddened that it took me so long to bring her home. And just looking at her makes me all giddy and happy still...

And I'm hoping to have a little body for my surprise floating head sometime after September of this year. *crosses fingers and hopes!*

 

I decided to buy second or whateverth when I decided to buy first. "I want this and this and that.. "
I'm waiting my first doll, woosoo vampire girl, but planning when I can buy the others.

 

I ordered Elias in December of '08 on layaway, and he came in February of '09. I ordered Gwendolen here on DOA in April due to my tax return money coming in, and she was my dream sculpt. I only ordered her so fast after Elias because I got back tax money and I allocated $300 of it to try and get her. Success!

 

I've decided I'm going for a Soom SG Girl in August and while waiting for an appropriate MD (the wait I knew will be at least 'till December) and thinking of all the things I will want to do with her I realized that I have to have another doll with her. All my plans shifted over time to require a companion!
Somewhere around September I knew she must have a Teenie with her to be her Chibi companion. When Yrie/Alk were announced, I knew I was sold

 

I also got my first BJD for about 6 months too. I feel like, I should find her a sibling or friends. But I was too worried that they won't fit each other, so I still didn't buy the second doll. I'll wait until I found the right one.

 

I got my first doll in december, and by the time she had arrived I already planned to add more. What I really want for my next doll is a boy or two, I've also got a sister planned for my first doll and a few others. I don't regret my first doll and I'm hoping I wont regret purchasing more. nothing will change how I feel about my first, all dolls are special too me

 

I'm in the middle of deciding what my second doll will be. May first one is a lati yellow and I kind of feel like I shouldn't buy another doll soon and rather take the money to buy my Lami some lovely stuff...But I just love so many different dolls right now! >.<

It was the same with Blythes, I only had one and I felt like she was perfect and all I needed. Then, I decided to get another one for customizing. And a week after purchasing her I was offered one of my dream blythes and adopted her as well. Three months later I bought my fourth Blythe....I definitely like them all the same so everything is good, but it's still a little weird to have more than one doll of a kind. I always feel like I have give them all the same amount of attention...It's like having children I suppose^^.

Anyway, I'm thinking that maybe it would feel less like neglecting Phoebe if I bought a doll that was not her kind (maybe MSD-size)....But we'll see^^

 

I think I ordered my second doll two months after my first.
Because i've been rp'ing a lot with him.. so I needed him to come to me, and then he took another 3 months to arrive.. So he joined me 5 months after the first

 

I ordered my second a little over a month after I got my first who I have only had since the beginning of November. I am actually waiting for the arrival of my second who I hope will come by the end of this month. As soo as i got my first i knew I wanted more. And i already have plans for at least two more so I gotta start saving big time.

 

Easy question, when I found the one I liked and won my heart, just the same situation than the first doll, I wasn't even looking for her. She found me at the right moment and made me take her home.

 

I bought my second doll about 2 months after getting my first (which took over 90 days to get to me after purchase).

I wasn't planning on getting one so soon, but the opportunity came up to buy him in the marketplace and I took it!

I don't regret it and love them both very much.

Maybe (still a big maybe) I'll buy another one later this year, if I can afford it and I decide I found the perfect one for me.

 

I decided before i even bought my first one...however i didnt choose WHICH one. I just knew i wanted more then one. Almost a full year after owning my Alice i placed the order for not only my second, but my third as well. I am bouncing off the wall waiting for them!

 

i ordered my second dolls less than a month after ordering my first because CH had such a good deal with their half price offer with a free head.

I'm trying to avoid looking at any more dolls until i get my limhwa and CH ange's.
This hobby is definitely addictive *lol*

 

Firstly, I decided to buy both of them, but since I was bidding it in Y!Japan...The second one was appeared half year after the first one came. During that period, I waited and tried to bid several times but not successful.
I don't feel bad for the first doll and share the waiting time with it for the second one.^^

 

i bought the first and second at the same time~
it was an "impulse' buying coz i got a sudden cash "bonus" and still waiting for them now~

 

I got my second BJD a month after my first one arrived, 'cause there was an add for it in the marketplace. I really wanted a ws puki pukisha, so when I found one secondhand, with a heapload of extra items and the sugar faceplates too (my other favourite puki puki) I couldn't resist They arrived almost exactly one month after my first one arrived.
I haven't felt bad for Riona (my first doll), because she still gets a lot of attention from me. No regrets here The puki's fit in Riona's lap perfectly, they go real well together, very cute

 

I can't wait to get my first real BJD. It's hard deciding which one that will be. They're all so beautiful, I know that I'm not going to stop at one. I do have a DD, but I want a real resin BJD and it's going to be an Iple House. I love Luo, but I started looking at Akando...Once I get him (whichever he will be) they're going to need friends, so...

 

I just bought my second one! As to how long I waited...only about a month or so. After Pekoe got here and I started developing her character, I knew that I wanted a few more to be her playmates! Do I feel bad for her? Nope, as she seems kinda lonely right now...

 

I got my 2nd doll about 5 months after my first doll. Basically because he's my dream doll and he somehow rereleased unexpectedly I just must have him no matter what. Eventhough the second doll that I planned was supposed to be other doll, and having him make it sure for me not to have the other doll, I have no regret over the second or the first doll cuz I love them all so muchly. I think first doll is always special, just as special as the first doll you fall in love to eventhough he's the 2nd
