1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Buying your second BJD

May 4, 2009

    1. When did I buy my second doll? Shortly after the sale of my first doll went through on the marketplace. I still wanted a doll, but that just hadn't been the one for me.

    2. I wanted a second BJD when I got my first one! She seems so lonely!

As soon as I get the money, I'm getting her a lover. :)

    3. After I bought Clover , I knew I wanted a second one. I've had Clover for maybe....5 months and I'm already actively saving for my second, and I know what mold I want for my third. C:

    4. Sent for my first doll from Dollzone and my daughter bought me a second .. Ringdoll.
Have been waiting like crazy and now I think they will be arriving almost the same time.

WELL I'M READY FOR THEM !!!! LET THE SHOW BEGIN !!!

    5. I received my first BJD beginning of October 2009… but less than two months later I ordered my second one!
I thought the first one would remain the only one … until the second one, seen by chance in a thread, appealed to me. Like for the first one, it was instant love so that I spent days on my computer searching every little thing I could learn on her. I tried to forget it, feeling guilty for spending so much money in dolls and betraying my love for the first one … Again, that doll had just stolen my heart so completely that I couldn’t help thinking of her!

    6. One the reason I joined DoA, is for that second purchase. The quality issue is a big one for me. I ran into some old posts (through google) about Souldoll. It scared the cr** out of me. I will be going through the forum before I order another doll.

    7. Yes, thank all the stars for this Forum as out of everbody being so helpful and kind it helps so much with any kind of information.
I waited so long to be able to enter.
I fell in love with a sculpture in Flicr and thought I might get her but after researching in
DoA it seems her sculpt (body ) has many flaws and the company is not too effiecent.
They sent the doll without the eyes ....what a hassel now to ask them for it again.

DoA is a "MUST" for Bjd collectors.

    8. Lets see.... I had wanted both a Soom Cuprit and Euclase. I bought a fullset Soom Cuprit and she arrived home Oct. 30th, 2009. THAT SAME DAY, I won an auction for an Euclase here on DoA........ so............ Yeah. As you can see, I had/have no control! I didn't wait very long at all before buying another doll...... lol, fail. And he arrived home Nov. 18th, 2009.

So far, they are the only two dolls I have, but I recently saw a AngelHeim Luka "The Pan", and I fell in love with him, which is weird because he's MSD, and I usually only like 60+cm dolls...... But anyway, I can't wait to buy Luka!

And yeah, I know, my first dolls were both Soom MDs...... yeah, I'm hardcore like that!

    9. I thought I was Just FIne with one... and then started to feel like my guy was "lonely".
Every time I took him to a doll meet he was flirting with ALL the girls. (including some of the human ones!) Mostly, interacting with other people's MSD size girls.

So for a Looong time, I was "just looking" and "saving up IF I find something I really love" and then I stumbled across JUST the right one and bought her.

3rd doll came about 6 months after THAT, friend on line wanted a particular doll, and was selling one of hers, and well... next thing I knew I had doll # 3

So now my Big Guy has a little sister and her BFF! (he and his sister are not only from the same company, but the same sculptor... )

NOW we are all stalking the postman waiting for a pukisha and a pukipipi even though I know they're still over a month away.

I'm saying "NO MORE DOLLS" but I've only bought them after I fell in love with a specific mold, AND gotten lucky and found it available somewhere. Heck, the pukis are the first things I'm NOT getting 2nd or third hand.

    10. When I first got into BJDs (and it feels like an age ago now!) I was torn between getting a Delf El or a Delf Yder. Eventually I decided on El, and promised myself that my second doll would be the Yder.

And my actual second doll? I fell in love with a Banji that was on sale in the DoA marketplace, and bought him instead. ;) And I still have both him and the El, even though the Yder (my third doll) ended up being sold and upgraded to a Minimee.

And no, I didn't feel bad for my first doll. Partly because he is just a doll, and has no real opinions or feelings, but mainly becuase he is my first doll and will always have a special place in my collection. Also, character wise, he is not much of a loner and tend to be happier with lots of people around him! :)

    11. My second doll is arriving in a few days...got the tracking number today .
She is suppose to be my second which my daughter sent for me but now it seems she is going to be my first as I'm still waiting for my first ...which now will be my second.

      hahahahahaha

    12. I got my first one as a gift. She was lonely so I wanted her to have somebody around, so that's how I was able to decide to get another one.

    13. My second bjd ultimately supplanted my first bjd. :sweat

I bought SNG Javi because I fell in love when he came out, and he was limited edition. Then K-Doll re-released Kill_U 1st - my dream doll, a doll I never thought I would own because before the re-release he was very rare - and I bought one.

I liked both sculpts, but in person I found they did not work as well together as I'd hoped. So although Javi was very cute, I gave him up in the end so I could upgrade Kill_U 1st's body and wardrobe.

Because of how this worked out, now I am even more picky about my doll wishlist/doll plans. I found that I have no difficulty with giving up a doll, but still I don't want to be switching out all the time, that would be tiresome. So, my lesson learned from my second doll was that I must choose dolls that I feel look good together. Otherwise I won't be satisfied.

    14. I wanted a second about two weeks after I got my first. I said I was only going to get one because they're so dang expensive, but then I just knew in my heart that Zin needed his little emo lover, there's no way he'd be complete without him! The second will probably come later LATER this year, or maybe even next, since I don't exactly have money to spare... but something tells me that as soon as I find the perfect face, I'll buy him without a second thought - sort of like I did with my first XD

    15. i bought my 2nd doll abouth 5 months after my first one, but could not bond with it so i sold it, but have an another now so, i was already when i bought him making a "familiy" for him XD

    16. I always knew I'd want more dolls, so even before my first got here I was already planning for more. But the "family" I have planned now didn't start taking shape until he was here and I had time to figure out his character well enough. Now he's been here two months and I ordered my second doll just a couple days ago :D

I have pretty much my whole family planned out now, and it's simply a matter of coming into the funds right now. I don't know that there's any "Right time" to order another doll because, for me, I'm just going to buy the next doll on my list as soon as I have the proper funds for it and continue until they're all complete :)

    17. I actually bought my second doll about 2 weeks after I'd ordered my first, my Miho from Migidoll (plus 2 floating heads for his twin brother and best friend. And a third head, that was a gift 8'D)

.. I really didn't plan to buy so much at once, but I wanted to buy my Limho (my second) sometime in the middle of 2010 instead. However, I browsed the marketplace for fun anyways and happened to find the absolutely perfect Limho right there (most important was the right resin .. I really really wanted normal beige urethane but the only ones I've seen up for sale until then - and that I've more or less liked - were french resin. A no no for me.) He even came with the right glass eyes in the perfect color that I would have gotten him anyways. Plus his price was reasonable and he seemed to be in great condition (He was. And still is. ^^ y) so I PM'd the seller and just .. bought him ._. Can anybody say impulse buy? I'm extremely glad I did though, he really is as perfect as I had hoped for him to be and the best shell I could have gotten my character.
Plus, the transaction itself was great too, because I happened to find a very nice seller.

    18. I am planning on getting my second doll in the near future after... four years. I've been wanting another one throughout the whole time but because I don't have that much extra money on me and I'm VERY VERY indecisive, it's been taking a while.

    19. I bought my second doll because I wanted a boy and a girl. Also, I had a character in mind for the second already. :3 It was a little less than a month between my getting my first doll (a gift ♥ ) and ordering my second.

    20. I got my second doll as a gift from my entire family for the Christmas holidays. It was roughly two-three months after I purchased my first.
